Abstract
Highly luminescent silver(I) coordination polymers [Ag2X2(PPh3)2(Me2pyz)]n (X = I, Br, Cl; Me2pyz: 2,5-dimethylpyrazine) were prepared together with copper congeners [Cu2X2(PPh3)2(Me2pyz)]n (X = I, Br). All the complexes showed thermally activated delayed fluorescence from the charge-transfer states in the visible region, from blue to red. The isomorphous relationship among the complexes allowed a detailed discussion of the effect of halogenido ligands and crystal packing on their luminescence energy. The relaxation in the emissive excited states (ESs) was determined to be more remarkable in silver complexes than in copper complexes despite their isomorphous structures, and the electronic effect of halogenido ligands was comparable to the effect of relaxation in emissive ESs.

Abstract
Various 1D-coordination polymers with dinuclear rhombic {Cu2X2} cores (X = Br, I) were synthesized using a spontaneous evaporation method employing triphenylarsine (AsPh3) and six types of bidentate N-heteroaromatic co-ligands. The coordination polymers exhibited intense emission even at 298 K (quantum yield: up to 0.60), and their emission color was dependent on the N-heteroaromatic co-ligand. The emission efficiencies of these coordination polymers were higher than those of the discrete complexes with AsPh3 and monodentate N-heteroaromatic co-ligands reported in our previous work. In addition, the luminescence of these coordination polymers was more resistant to mechanical stimuli than that of the discrete ones.

Abstract
Coordination polymers (CPs) have recently emerged as promising candidates for heterogeneous photocatalysis due to their structural designability and tunable properties. Herein, we developed two novel Ag(I)-calix[4]arene coordination polymers with the formula {[Ag2(μ-NO3)L1]}n (CP 1) and {[AgL1]·PF6}n (CP 2) (L1 = 2-mercapto-5-methyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole resorcinol calix[4]arene). Crystallography revealed that anion coordination and self-inclusion behavior induced the cavitand and silver ions to self-assemble into well-defined CPs 1 and 2 with different topological coordination frameworks, respectively. Furthermore, CPs 1 and 2 display high photocatalytic activity for the photodegradation of rhodamine B (RhB) and methyl orange (MO) in an aqueous solution under mild conditions (WLED and UV irradiation). The comparison results demonstrate that CP 1 exhibited better photocatalytic performance than CP 2, which correlated well with the differences in their molecular structure and HOMO-LUMO energy gaps. The photocatalysis products and possible intermediates were successfully monitored and determined using mass spectrum, gas chromatography, and electron paramagnetic resonance measurements. The rational photocatalysis mechanism was further investigated and proposed.

Abstract
Three types of Eu(III) coordination polymers with different distorted chiral ligands, [Eu(+tfc)3(p-dpeb)]n, [Eu(+pfc)3(p-dpeb)]n, and [Eu(+hfc)3(p-dpeb)]n (+tfc: (+)-3-(trifluoroacetyl)camphorate, +pfc: (+)-3-(pentafluoropropionyl)camphorate, +hfc: (+)-3-(heptafluorobutyryl)camphorate, p-dpeb: 1,4-bis(diphenylphosphorylethynyl)benzene), were prepared for elucidating the relationship between their structural distortions, ligand-to-metal charge transfer (LMCT), and circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) properties. Their strain factors in the ligands were evaluated using crystallographic data obtained by single-crystal X-ray structural analyses. The characteristics of the LMCT excited states were estimated from theoretical calculations. The introduction of a bulky substituent into the chiral ligand afforded a distorted structure of β-diketonates and changed the direction of the transition electric dipole moments, which are related to the magnitude of the CPL intensity. The CPL dissymmetry factor (gCPL) of [Eu(+hfc)3(p-dpeb)]n, with a large distorted structure, was -0.22, while those of [Eu(+tfc)3(p-dpeb)]n and [Eu(+pfc)3(p-dpeb)]n, with small distorted structures, were -0.05 and -0.10, respectively. The controlled steric hindrance of the chiral ligands in Eu(III) coordination polymers is one of the strain factors enhancing their CPL properties.

Abstract
Hybrid coordination polymers are interesting for their ability to converge the properties of both inorganic and organic systems in one single compound and recently attention has been focused on silver based hybrid coordination polymers due to their luminescence properties. We searched the CSD to establish the propensity of AgXL (X = Cl-, Br- and I-) with L as an organic ligand to form hybrid coordination polymers. About 800 AgXL structures are deposited in the CSD, with huge structural variability: indeed, it is possible to recognize some structural preferences based on the halide nature. The formation of an inorganic polymeric unit is favoured by iodide but it is also possible with the other halides. This research continues with the synthesis of AgX (X = I-, Br-) based coordination polymers with 2-, 3- and 4-picolylamine (n-pica) as ligands. By mechanochemical synthesis five new hybrid coordination polymers and one coordination polymer have been obtained and their structures determined. While [(AgI)(n-pica)]n are not luminescent, [(AgBr)(n-pica)]n emit and their profile depends on the crystallinity of the sample.

Abstract
Two hexanuclear paddlewheel-like clusters appending six carboxylic-acid pendants have been isolated with the inclusion of polar solvent guests: [Cu6(Hmna)6]·7DMF (1·7DMF) and [Ag6(Hmna)6]·8DMSO (2·8DMSO), where H2mna = 2-mercaptonicotininc acid, DMF = N,N’-dimethylformamide, and DMSO = dimethyl sulfoxide. The solvated clusters, together with their fully desolvated forms 1 and 2, have been characterized by FTIR, UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, TG-DTA analysis, and DFT calculations. Crystal structures of two solvated clusters 1·7DMF and 2·8DMSO have been unambiguously determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Six carboxylic groups appended on the clusters trap solvent guests, DMF or DMSO, through H-bonds. As a result, alternately stacked lamellar architectures comprising of a paddlewheel cluster layer and H-bonded solvent layer are formed. Upon UV illumination (λex = 365 nm), the solvated hexasilver(I) cluster 2·8DMSO gives intense greenish-yellow photoluminescence in the solid state (λPL = 545 nm, ΦPL = 0.17 at 298 K), whereas the solvated hexacopper(I) cluster 1·7DMF displays PL in the near-IR region (λPL = 765 nm, ΦPL = 0.38 at 298 K). Upon complete desolvation, a substantial bleach in the PL intensity (ΦPL < 0.01) is observed. The desorption–sorption response was studied by the solid-state PL spectroscopy. Non-covalent interactions in the crystal including intermolecular H-bonds, CH⋯π interactions, and π⋯π stack were found to play decisive roles in the creation of the lamellar architectures, small-molecule trap-and-release behavior, and guest-induced luminescence enhancement.

Abstract
A highly efficient and stable heterogeneous coordination polymer (CP) was successfully prepared by hydrothermal combination of silver and 4,6-diamino-2-pyrimidinethiol. The prepared coordination polymer was characterized by FT-IR, XRD, TGA, SEM, EDX, X-ray mapping and Nitrogen adsorption–desorption analysis. The prepared Ag–CP exhibit excellent catalytic activity in multicomponent Hantzsch synthesis of polyhydroquinolines under mild reaction conditions in relatively short reaction times. The heterogeneity of the catalyst was confirmed by the hot filtration test; also, the catalyst was reused for at least four times under the optimized reaction conditions without any significant loss of its catalytic activity.
