Abstract
Metal nanozymes have offered attractive opportunities for biocatalysis and biomedicine. However, fabricating nanozymes simultaneously possessing highly catalytic selectivity and activity remains a great challenge due to the lack of three-dimensional (3D) architecture of the catalytic pocket in natural enzymes. Here, we integrate rhodium nanocluster (RhNC), reduced graphene oxide (rGO), and protamine (PRTM, a typical arginine-rich peptide) into a composite facilely based on the single peptide. Remarkably, the PRTM-RhNC@rGO composite displays outstanding selectivity, activity, and stability for the catalytic degradation of uric acid. The reaction rate constant of the uric acid oxidation catalyzed by the PRTM-RhNC@rGO composite is about 1.88 × 10-3 s-1 (4 μg/mL), which is 37.6 times higher than that of reported RhNP (k = 5 × 10-5 s-1, 20 μg/mL). Enzyme kinetic studies reveal that the PRTM-RhNC@rGO composite exhibits a similar affinity for uric acid as natural uricase. Furthermore, the uricase-like activity of PRTM-RhNC@rGO nanozymes remains in the presence of sulfur substances and halide ions, displaying incredibly well antipoisoning abilities. The analysis of the structure-function relationship indicates the PRTM-RhNC@rGO composite features the substrate binding site near the catalytic site in a confined space contributed by 2D rGO and PRTM, resulting in the high-performance of the composite nanozyme. Based on the outstanding uricase-like activity and the interaction of PRTM and uric acid, the PRTM-RhNC@rGO composite can retard the urate crystallization significantly. The present work provides new insights into the design of metal nanozymes with suitable binding sites near catalytic sites by mimicking pocket-like structures in natural enzymes based on simple peptides, conducing to broadening the practical application of high-performance nanozymes in biomedical fields.

Abstract
Development and fabrication of a novel gas sensor with superb performance are crucial for enabling real-time monitoring of ethylene (C2H4) and formaldehyde (H2CO) emissions from industrial manufacture. Herein, first-principles calculations and AIMD simulations were carried out to investigate the effect of the Fe-M dimer on the adsorption of C2H4 and H2CO on metal dimer phthalocyanine (FeMPc, M = Ti-Zn) monolayers, and the electronic structures and sensing properties of the above adsorption systems were systematically discussed. The results show that the FeMPc (M = Ti, V, Cr, Mn) monolayers interact with C2H4 and H2CO by chemisorption except for the FeMnPc/H2CO system, while the other adsorption systems are all characterized by physisorption. Interestingly, the adsorption strength of C2H4 and H2CO can be effectively regulated by the bimetallic synergy of the Fe-M dimer. Moreover, the FeCrPc and FeMnPc monolayers exhibit excellent sensitivity towards C2H4 and H2CO, and have short recovery time (4.69 ms-2.31 s) for these gases at room temperature due to the effective surface diffusion at 300 K. Consequently, the FeCrPc and FeMnPc materials can be utilized as high-performance, reusable gas sensors for detecting C2H4 and H2CO, and have promising applications in monitoring the release of ethylene and formaldehyde from industrial processes.

Abstract
The singlet oxygen (1O2) oxidation process activated by metal-free catalysts has recently attracted considerable attention for organic pollutant degradation; however, the 1O2 formation remains controversial. Simultaneously, the catalytic activity of the metal-free catalyst limits the practical application. In this study, carbon nitride (HCCN) containing an intramolecular homojunction, a kind of metal-free catalyst, exhibits excellent activity compared to g-C3N4 (CN) and crystalline carbon nitride (HCN) for tetracycline hydrochloride degradation through the H2O2-based Fenton-like reaction. The rate constant for HCCN increased about 16.1 and 8.9 times than that of CN and HCN, respectively. The activity of HCCN was enhanced, and the dominant reactive oxygen species (ROS) changed from hydroxyl radicals (•OH) to 1O2 with an increase in pH from 4.5 to 11.5. A novel formation pathway of 1O2 was revealed. This result is different from the normal reference, in which •OH is always the primary ROS in the H2O2-based Fenton-like reaction. This study may provide a possible strategy for the investigation on the nonradical oxidation process in the Fenton-like reaction.

Abstract
Photocatalytic for hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) production is thought as a promising technology owing to its clean and green properties with the cheap and easily available raw materials of H2O and O2. Herein, Pt/g-C3N4 Schottky junction photocatalysts with ultralow Pt contents (0.025-0.1 wt %) were successfully fabricated by an impregnation-reduction method. It can efficiently reduce O2 to generate H2O2 without a sacrificial agent under visible-light irradiation. The yield of H2O2 produced over Pt0.05/g-C3N4 with the optimal 0.05 wt % Pt reached 31.82 μM, which was 2.46 times that of g-C3N4 and higher than most of those in the literature. It also showed good stability in three repeated tests. The deposition of highly dispersed metal Pt nanoparticles with low and limited content can expose enough active Pt atoms, significantly enhance the separation efficiency of photogenerated carriers, and reduce its negative effect on H2O2 decomposition, resulting in improved and outstanding efficiency of H2O2 production. The ·O2- radicals were found to be the main active species. The mechanism of photocatalytic H2O2 production was confirmed to be a two-step single electron route (O2 + e-→ ·O2- → H2O2).

Abstract
The catalytic oxidation of ethylbenzene (EB) into acetophenone (AP) is a vibrant area, with a growing number of researchers paying attention to this thematic investigation. Herein, we demonstrate that spinel-type (Co,Mn)(Co,Mn)2O4 can function as an efficient catalyst for the solvent-free oxidation of EB with molecular oxygen. The incorporation of Mn into the Co3O4 network can break the local structural symmetry of Co-O-Co linkages due to the bond competition, inducing the formation of an asymmetrical Co-O-Mn configuration with an electron local exchange interaction. The Co-O-Mn sites can facilitate the perturbation of nonpolar O2 and thus contribute to the generation of abundant •O2- species for initiating the oxidation of EB. We envision that this study not only provides a promising catalyst for EB oxidation but also affords a new insight into the design of advanced spinel oxides for selective oxidation reactions.

Abstract
Artificial nanozymes have been receiving considerable interest for their outstanding performance and wide application. However, their low activity results in a high concentration of substrates, costs, and environmental pollution. To enhance nanozymic activity, a composite, FexNi1-xS2/hollow carbon spheres (FexNi1-xS2/SC), was facilely synthesized by a solvothermal method. The response surface methodology (RSM) was used to optimize the Ni content in FexNi1-xS2/SC and the experimental conditions, where Fe0.75Ni0.25S2/SC exhibited the highest activity. The Km (Michaelis-Menten's constant) values of Fe0.75Ni0.25S2/SC are 0.025 and 0.021 mM with H2O2 and oxidized 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) as the substrates, respectively, which are 148 times and 20.5 times lower than those with HRP, 1.88 and 7.19 times lower than those of FeS2/SC, and 1.88 and 10.52 times lower than those of Fe0.8Ni0.2S2, meaning a strong affinity of Fe0.75Ni0.25S2/SC for the substrate. The catalytic efficiency (Kcat/Km) of Fe0.75Ni0.25S2/SC was 5.4 (H2O2) and 27.4 times (TMB), and 9.7 (H2O2) and 66.2 times (TMB) higher than those of FeS2/SC and Fe0.8Ni0.2S2, respectively. The effects of the synergistic interaction between Fe and Ni, the S-C bond formation, and the hollow carbon spheres on the activity were studied. A nanozymic mechanism was proposed. Fe0.75Ni0.25S2/SC could be used to detect cysteine (Cys) at room temperature in 1 min with a detection limit (LOD) of 0.049 μM.
