Abstract
Luminescent CuI complexes are an important class of coordination compounds due to their relative abundance, low cost and ability to display excellent luminescence. The title Cu2I2P2S2-type binuclear complex, di-μ-iodido-bis[(thiourea-κS)(triphenylphosphine-κP)copper(I)], [Cu2I2(CH4N2S)2(C18H15P)2], conventionally abbreviated as Cu2I2TPP2TU2, where TPP and TU represent triphenylphosphine and thiourea, respectively, is described. In this complex, each CuI atom adopts a CuI2PS four-coordination mode and pairs of atoms are connected to each other by two μ2-I ligands to form a centrosymmetric binuclear cluster. It was also found that the paper-based film of this complex exhibited obvious luminescence light-up sensing for pyridine and 4-methylpyridine.

Abstract
Coordination complexes, particularly metalloproteins, highlight the significance of metal-sulfur bonds in biological processes. Their unique attributes inspire efforts to synthetically reproduce these intricate metal-sulfur motifs. Here, we investigate the synthesis and characterization of copper(I)-thioether coordination complexes derived from copper(I) halides and the chiral cyclic β-amino acid trans-4-aminotetrahydrothiophene-3-carboxylic acid (ATTC), which present distinctive structural properties and ligand-to-metal ratios. By incorporating ATTC as the ligand, we generated complexes that feature a unique chiral conformation and the capacity for hydrogen bonding, facilitating the formation of distinct geometric structures. Through spectroscopic analyses and density functional theory (DFT) calculations, we studied the complexes' optical properties, including their emission bands and variable second-harmonic generation (SHG) efficiencies, which vary based on the halide used. Our findings underscore the potential of the ATTC ligand in creating unusual coordination complexes and pave the way for further investigations into their potential applications, particularly within materials science.

Abstract
Copper(I) halides are well-known for their structural diversity and rich photoluminescence properties, showing great potential for the development of solid-state lighting technology. A series of four molecular copper iodide clusters based on the [Cu4I4] cubane geometry is reported. Among them, [Cu8I8] octanuclear clusters of rare geometry resulting from dimerization of the tetranuclear counterparts were also synthesized. Two different phosphine ligands were studied, bearing either a styrene or an ethyl group. Therefore, the effect of the dimerization and of the ligand nature on the photophysical properties of the resulting clusters is investigated. The structural differences were analyzed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD), solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), infrared, and Raman analyses. Compared to the ethyl group, the styrene function appears to greatly impact the photophysical properties of the clusters. The luminescence thermochromic properties of the ethyl derivatives and the intriguing photophysical properties of the clusters with styrene function were rationalized by density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Thus, the styrene group significantly lowers in energy the vacant orbitals and consequently affects the global energetic layout of the clusters. From this study, it was found that the nuclearity of copper iodide clusters eventually has less influence on the photophysical properties than the nature of the ligand. The design of proper ligands should therefore be considered when developing materials for specific lighting applications.

Abstract
Exploiting 2-(alkylsulfonyl)pyridines as 1,3-N,S-ligands, herein we have constructed 1D CuI-based coordination polymers (CPs) bearing unprecedented (CuI)n chains and possessing remarkable photophysical properties. At room temperature, these CPs show efficient TADF, phosphorescence or dual emission in the deep-blue to red range with outstandingly short decay times of 0.4-2.0 μs and good quantum performance. Owing to great structural diversity, the CPs demonstrate a variety of emissive mechanisms, spanning from TADF of 1(M + X)LCT type to 3CC and 3(M + X)LCT phosphorescence. Moreover, the designed compounds emit strong X-ray radioluminescence with the quantum efficiency of up to an impressive 55% relative to all-inorganic BGO scintillators. The presented findings push the boundaries in designing TADF and triplet emitters with very short decay times.

Abstract
Solid-state lighting technology, where light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are used for energy conversion from electricity to light, is considered a next-generation lighting technology. One of the significant challenges in the field is the synthesis of high-efficiency phosphors for designing phosphor-converted white LEDs under high flux operating currents. Here, we reported the synthesis, structure, and photophysical properties of a tetranuclear Cu(I)–halide cluster phosphor, [bppmCu2I2]2 (bppm = bisdiphenylphosphinemethane), for the fabrication of high-performance white LEDs. The PL investigations demonstrated that the red emission exhibits a near-unity photoluminescence quantum yield at room temperature and unusual spectral broadening with increasing temperature in the crystalline state. Considering the excellent photophysical properties, the crystalline sample of [bppmCu2I2]2 was successfully applied for the fabrication of phosphor-converted white LEDs. The prototype white LED device exhibited a continuous rise in brightness in the range of a high bias current (100–1000 mA) with CRI as high as 84 and CCT of 5828 K, implying great potential for high-quality white LEDs.

Abstract
The design of new and inexpensive metal-containing functional materials is of great interest. Herein is reported a unique thermochromic near-IR emitting coordination polymer, 3D-[Cu8I8(L1)2]n, CP2, which is formed when ArS(CH2)4SAr (L1, Ar = 4-C6H4OMe) reacts with 2 equiv of CuI in EtCN. In MeCN, CP1 ([Cu4I4(L1)(MeCN)2]n, consisting of an alternating [-Cu4I4-L1-Cu4I4-L1-]n chain where the Cu4I4 cubane units bear two metal-bound MeCN molecules, is formed. Heat-driven elimination of these MeCN's in solid CP1 also leads to CP2 through a predisposed organization of the Cu4I4 units prone to fusion after MeCN eliminations (i.e., a rare case of template effect). The CP2 structure exhibits parallel 1D-(Cu8I8)n chains, (z-axis; designated 1D-[CuI]n) as secondary building units (SBU) held together by parallel thioether ligands (x,y-axes), forming a nonporous 3D network. The structure of this 1D-[CuI]n SBU is unprecedented and consists of a series of fused and twisted open Cu4I4 cubanes forming a fused poly(truncated rhombic dodecahedron). Unexpectedly, the compact 3D CP2 exhibits a solid-to-solid phase transition at 100 °C and a hysteresis of ∼20 °C. CP1 emits intensively (298 K: λemi = 564 nm; Φe = 0.35), whereas CP2 presents a strongly red-shifted weaker emission (298 K: λemi ∼ 740 nm, Φe < 0.0001). Moreover, CP2, which is stable over long periods of time, exhibits thermochromism where the emission intensity of the near-IR band decreases significantly at the benefit of a ligand-centered phosphorescence at 415 nm. Altogether, these properties listed above make CP2 exceptional. The low-energy singlet and triplet excited states have been assigned to ligand/metal-to-ligand charge transfer based on DFT and TD-DFT computations.

Abstract
First examples of copper(i) complexes with 2-(alkylsulfanyl)pyrimidine ligands have been synthesized. Reactions of copper(i) iodide with 2-(methylsulfanyl)pyrimidine (L1) in various metal-to-ligand molar ratios in MeCN afford a ladder-type coordination polymer [Cu2L1I2]n with polymeric chains built from double-stranded (Cu2I2)n ribbons supported on both sides by μ2-N,S-L1 molecules. Although the second ligand, 2-(ethylsulfanyl)pyrimidine (L2), differs from L1 only by a methylene group, its reactions with copper(i) iodide in MeCN yield not only a congenerous coordination polymer, [Cu2L2I2]n, but also [CuL2I]n, in which a similar (Cu2I2)n ribbon is decorated by N-monodentate L2 molecules. Absorption spectra of all compounds represent an interplay of metal + iodine-to-ligand charge transfer (XMLCT) and ligand-centered (LC) and cluster-centered (CC) transitions, while the emission occurs from the excited states of XMLCT nature. The luminescence of [Cu2L1I2]n and [Cu2L2I2]n is blue-shifted and greatly enhanced in comparison with that of [CuL2I]n (quantum yields: 89% and 68% for [Cu2L1I2]n and [Cu2L2I2]nvs. 23% for [CuL2I]n at 77 K), which can be associated with a more rigid μ2-N,S coordination of 2-(alkylsulfanyl)pyrimidine ligands in [Cu2L1I2]n and [Cu2L2I2]n leading to a less distorted T1 state.

Abstract
The polymeric title compound, [Cu2Br2(C4H8S)2] n , CP1, represents an example of a two-dimensional coordination polymer resulting from reaction of CuBr with tetra-hydro-thio-phene (THT) in MeCN solution. The two-dimensional layers consist of two different types of rhomboid-shaped dinuclear Cu(μ2-Br)2Cu secondary building units (SBUs); one with a quite loose Cu⋯Cu separation of 3.3348 (10) Å and a second one with a much closer inter-metallic contact of 2.9044 (9) Å. These SBUs are inter-connected through bridging THT ligands, in which the S atom acts as a four-electron donor bridging each Cu(μ2-Br)2Cu unit in a μ2-bonding mode. In the crystal, the layers are linked by very weak C-H⋯·Br hydrogen bonds with H⋯Br distances of 2.95 Å, thus giving rise to a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Abstract
The optical properties of four new trinuclear chalcogenolato bridged metal complexes [Ag2Ti(SPh)6(PPh3)2], [Na(thf)3]2[Ti(SPh)6], [Cu2Ti(SePh)6(PPh3)2], and [Ag2Ti(SePh)6(PPh3)2] have been investigated by absorption and photoluminescence spectroscopy as well as time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) calculations and compared to the results published recently for [Cu2Ti(SPh)6(PPh3)2]. All of these compounds are distinguished by efficient near-infrared luminescence at ∼880-1200 nm in the solid state at low temperatures, which remains quite intense for the copper-titanium complexes at ambient temperature with PL quantum yields of 9.5 and 4.8% at λPL = 1090 and 1240 nm for [Cu2Ti(EPh)6(PPh3)2], E = S, Se, respectively. According to the calculations, a peculiar feature of the lowest-energy electronic transitions in these complexes is their high localization on the metal and chalcogen atoms, with negligible contributions of the "external" ligand groups. Correspondingly, the type of atoms in the M2TiE6 (M = Cu, Ag, Na) core structure determines optical properties such as the absorption and emission wavelengths and PL lifetime.

Abstract
A novel approach for the formation of anomeric carbon-functionalized furanoside systems was accomplished through the employment of an oxo-rhenium catalyst. The transformation boasts a broad range of nucleophiles including allylsilanes, enol ethers, and aromatics in addition to sulfur, nitrogen, and hydride donors, able to react with an oxocarbenium ion intermediate derived from furanosidic structures. The excellent stereoselectivities observed followed the Woerpel model, ultimately providing 1,3-cis-1,4-trans systems. In the case of electron-rich aromatic nucleophiles, an equilibration occurs at the anomeric center with the selective formation of 1,3-trans-1,4-cis systems. This anomalous result was rationalized through density functional theory calculations. Different oxocarbenium ions such as those derived from dihydroisobenzofuran, pyrrolidine, and oxazolidine heterocycles can also be used as a substrate for the oxo-Re-mediated allylation reaction.

Abstract
A reaction of 6,6'-bis((benzylthio)methyl)-2,2'-bipyridine (L) with CuI at room temperature led to one Cu4I4-based cluster, which could be thermally transformed to a Cu2I2-based one under mild conditions due to the formation of a Cu-S bond. Along with the structural transformation, remarkable changes in the color and luminescence have been triggered.

Abstract
A new class of six mono- (1; 3-Cl-, 2; 5-Cl-, 3; 6-Cl-) and di-(4; 3,6-Cl, 5; 5,6-Cl-, 6; 3,5-Cl-) chloro-substituted pyrazin-2-amine ligands (1–6) form complexes with copper (I) bromide, to give 1D and 2D coordination polymers through a combination of halogen and hydrogen bonding that were characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis. These Cu(I) complexes were prepared indirectly from the ligands and CuBr2 via an in situ redox process in moderate to high yields. Four of the pyrazine ligands, 1, 4–6 were found to favor a monodentate mode of coordination to one CuI ion. The absence of a C6-chloro substituent in ligands 1, 2 and 6 supported N1–Cu coordination over the alternative N4–Cu coordination mode evidenced for ligands 4 and 5. These monodentate systems afforded predominantly hydrogen bond (HB) networks containing a catenated (μ3-bromo)-CuI ‘staircase’ motif, with a network of ‘cooperative’ halogen bonds (XB), leading to infinite polymeric structures. Alternatively, ligands 2 and 3 preferred a μ2-N,N’ bridging mode leading to three different polymeric structures. These adopt the (μ3-bromo)-CuI ‘staircase’ motif observed in the monodentate ligands, a unique single (μ2-bromo)-CuI chain, or a discrete Cu2Br2 rhomboid (μ2-bromo)-CuI dimer. Two main HB patterns afforded by self-complimentary dimerization of the amino pyrazines described by the graph set notation R22(8) and non-cyclic intermolecular N–H∙∙∙N’ or N–H∙∙∙Br–Cu leading to infinite polymeric structures are discussed. The cooperative halogen bonding between C–Cl∙∙∙Cl–C and the C–Cl∙∙∙Br–Cu XB contacts are less than the sum of the van der Waals radii of participating atoms, with the latter ranging from 3.4178(14) to 3.582(15) Å. In all cases, the mode of coordination and pyrazine ring substituents affect the pattern of HBs and XBs in these supramolecular structures.

Abstract
We report on the vapochromic behavior of a series of homo- and heterometallic copper(i) iodide/silver(i) iodide nanoparticles when exposed to dimethyl sulfide (DMS) vapor. These systems show remarkable colorimetric sensing behavior via emission color upon DMS exposure, shifting from pink to green emission. Kinetics measurements of CuI/AgI nanoparticle reactions with DMS show a significant rate increase with increasing Ag(i) content. However, luminescence spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction of the post-exposure samples with varying Ag(i) content reveal that the luminophore is identical in all cases and contains no Ag(i) ions. To rationalize the experimental observations and determine the vapochromic response mechanism, molecular dynamic calculations were performed on model (111) cation-terminated surfaces of copper iodide crystals doped with variable amounts of silver. Computational studies indicate that heterometallic Cu/Ag systems have a stronger binding affinity towards DMS vapor molecules than homometallic CuI and that embedding of the DMS molecules into the surface is the primary intermediate by which the vapochromic response occurs.

Abstract
With the objective to establish a correlation between the spacer distance and halide dependence on the structural features of coordination polymers (CPs) assembled by the reaction between CuX salts (X = Cl, Br, I) and dithioether ligands BzS(CH2)nSBz (n = 1-9; Bz = benzyl), a series of 26 compounds have been prepared and structurally investigated. A particular attention has been devoted to the design of networks with extremely long and flexible methylene spacer units between the SBz donor sites. Under identical conditions, CuI and CuBr react with BzSCH2Bz (L1) affording respectively the one-dimensional (1D) CPs {Cu(μ2-I)2Cu}(μ-L1)2]n (CP1) and {Cu(μ2-Br)2Cu}(μ-L1)2] (CP2), which incorporate Cu(μ2-X)2Cu rhomboids as secondary building units (SBUs). The hitherto unknown architecture of two-dimensional (2D) layers obtained with CuCl (CP3) differs from that of CP1 and CP2, which bear inorganic -Cl-Cu-Cl-Cu-Cl- chains interconnected through bridging L1 ligands, thus forming a 2D architecture. The crystallographic characterization of a 1D CP obtained by reacting CuI with 1,3-bis(benzylthio)propane (L2) reveals that [{Cu(μ2-I)2Cu}(μ-L2)2]n (CP4) contains conventional Cu2I2 rhomboids as SBUs. In contrast, unusual isostructural CPs [{Cu(μ2-X)}(μ2-L2)]n (CP5) and (CP6) are obtained with CuX when X = Br and Cl, respectively, in which the isolated Cu atoms are bridged by a single μ2-Br or μ2-Cl ion giving rise to infinite [Cu(μ2-X)Cu]n ribbons. The crystal structure of the strongly luminescent three-dimensional (3D) polymer [{Cu4(μ3-I)3(μ4-I)(μ-L3)1.5]n (CP7) issued from reacting 2 equiv of CuI with BzS(CH2)4SBz (L3) has been redetermined. CP7 features unusual [(Cu4I3)(μ4-I)]n arrays securing the 3D connectivity. In contrast, mixing CuI with an excess of L3 provides the nonemissive material [{Cu(μ2-I)2Cu}(μ-L3)2]n (CP8). Treatment of CuBr and CuCl with L3 leads to [{Cu(μ2-Br)2Cu}(μ-L3)2]n (CP9) and the 0D complex [{Cu(μ2-Cl)2Cu}(μ-L3)2] (D1), respectively. The crystallographic particularity for CP9 is the coexistence of two topological isomers within the unit cell. The first one, CP9-1D, consists of simple 1D ribbons running along the a axis of the unit cell. The second topological isomer, CP9-2D, also consists of [Cu(μ2-Br)2Cu] SBUs, but these are interconnected in a 2D manner forming 2D sheets placed perpendicular to the 1D ribbons. Four 2D CPs, namely, [{Cu4(μ3-I)4}(μ-L4)2]n (CP10), [{Cu(μ2-I)2Cu}(μ-L4)2]n (CP11), [{Cu(μ2-Br)2Cu}(μ-L4)2]n (CP12), and [{Cu(μ2-Cl)2Cu}(μ-L4)2]n (CP13), stem from the self-assembly process of CuX with BzS(CH2)6SBz (L4). A similar series of 2D materials comprising [{Cu4(μ3-I)4}(μ-L5)2]n (CP14), [{Cu(μ2-I)2Cu}(μ-L5)2]n (CP15), [{Cu(μ2-Br)2Cu}(μ-L5)2]n (CP16), and [{Cu(μ2-Cl)2Cu}(μ-L5)2]n (CP17) result from the coordination of BzS(CH2)7SBz (L5) on CuX. Ligation of CuX with the long-chain ligand BzS(CH2)8SBz (L6) allows for the X-ray characterization of the luminescent 2D [{Cu4(μ3-I)4}(μ-L6)2]n (CP18) and the isostructural 1D series [{Cu(μ2-X)2Cu}(μ-L6)2]n CP19 (X = I), CP20 (X = Br) and CP21(X = Cl). Noteworthy, BzS(CH2)9SBz (L7) bearing a very flexible nine-atom chain generated the crystalline materials 2D [{Cu4(μ3-I)4}(μ-L7)2]n (CP22) and the isostructural 1D series [{Cu(μ2-X)2Cu}(μ-L6)2]n CP23 (X = I), CP24 (X = Br), and CP25 (X = Cl), featuring nanometric separations between the cubane- or rhomboid-SBUs. This comparative study reveals that the outcome of the reaction of CuX with the shorter ligands BzS(CH2)nSBz (n = 1-4) is not predictable. However, with more flexible spacer chains BzS(CH2)nSBz (n = 6-9), a clear structural pattern can be established. Using a 1:1 CuX-to-ligand ratio, [{Cu(μ2-X)2Cu}(μ-L4-7)2] CPs are always formed, irrespectively of L4-L7. Employing a 2:1 CuX-to-ligand ratio, only CuI is able to form networks incorporating Cu4(μ3-I)4 clusters as SBUs. All attempts to construct polynuclear cluster using CuBr and CuCl failed. The materials have been furthermore analyzed by powder X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis, and the photophysical properties of the emissive materials have been studied.

Abstract
The parent compound 1,3-dithiane (L1) was reacted with CuI providing the 1D coordination polymer [{Cu(μ2-I)2Cu}(μ2-L1)2] n (CP1), an isostructural compound [{Cu(μ2-Br)2Cu}(μ2-L1)2] n (CP2) was isolated upon treatment of CuBr with L1. In contrast, treatment of L1 with CuCl results in the formation of 2D polymeric [{Cu(μ2-Cl)2Cu}(μ2-L1)] n (CP3), in which each sulfur atom acts as a 4-electron donor. The 1D compounds [{Cu(μ2-X)2Cu}(μ2-L2)2] n (CP7, X = Br, and CP8, X = Cl) resulting from treatment of 2-methyl-1,3 dithiane (L2) with CuBr and CuCl are isostructural with their CuI homologue [{Cu(μ2-I)2Cu}(μ2-L2)2] n (CP5), reported previously. Using CuCN, a 2D CP of composition [{Cu(μ2-CN)2Cu}(μ2-L2)2] n (CP9) has been isolated. Complexation of 2-isobutyl-1,3-dithiane (L3) on CuI generates a 2D material [{Cu3(μ3-I)(μ2-I)2(μ2-L3)2}] n (CP10), incorporating the usual trinuclear μ3-I-capped Cu clusters as SBUs, whereas 2D-polymeric compounds [{Cu(μ2-Br)2Cu}(μ2-L3)2] n (CP11) and [{Cu(μ2-Cl)2Cu}(μ2-L3)2] n (CP12) were obtained with CuBr and CuCl. Treatment of 2-Me3Si-1,3-dithiane (L4) with CuX yields the series [{Cu2(μ4-X)(μ2-X)}(μ2-L4)] n (CP13-CP15). With 2-phenyl-1,3-dithiane (L5), the outcome of the reaction with CuI depends on the reaction conditions. Reaction with CuI in MeCN provides a 1D ribbon [{Cu(μ2-I)2Cu}(MeCN)2(μ2-L5)2] n (CP16), whereas treatment of CuI with L5 in hot EtCN yields 2D-polymeric[{Cu3(μ3-I)(μ2-I)2(μ2-L5)2}] n (CP17). A reversible phase transition from triclinic P1̅ to monoclinic P21/ m is observed when recording the structure of CP16 at five different temperatures in the 100-300 K range. Ligand L6 containing a ferrocenyl function at the 2-position was also probed as organometallic dithioether ligand. Reaction of L6 with 1 equiv of CuI produces the 0D dinuclear complex [{Cu(μ2-I)2Cu}(η1-L6)2(MeCN)2] (D1), whereas treatment with 2 equiv of CuI affords the novel 1D CP [{Cu(μ3-I)2Cu}(μ-L6)] n (CP18), in which both S atoms of one L6 molecule span two copper centers of the infinite (CuI) n ribbon. Some selected results of thermal analyses and luminescence measurements are also presented.

Abstract
The optical properties of four isostructural trinuclear chalcogenolato bridged metal complexes [Cu2Sn(SPh)6(PPh3)2], [Cu2Sn(SePh)6(PPh3)2], [Ag2Sn(SPh)6(PPh3)2] and [Cu2Ti(SPh)6(PPh3)2] have been investigated by absorption and photoluminescence spectroscopy and time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) calculations. All copper-tin compounds demonstrate near-infrared (NIR) phosphorescence at ∼900-1100 nm in the solid state at low temperature, which is nearly absent at ambient temperature. Stokes shifts of these emissions are found to be unusually large with values of about 1.5 eV. The copper-titanium complex [Cu2Ti(SPh)6(PPh3)2] also shows luminescence in the NIR at 1090 nm but with a much faster decay (τ ∼ 10 ns at 150 K) and a much smaller Stokes shift (ca. 0.3 eV). Even at 295 K this fluorescence is found to comprise a quantum yield as high as 9.5%. The experimental electronic absorption spectra well correspond to the spectra simulated from the calculated singlet transitions. In line with the large Stokes shifts of the emission spectra the calculations reveal for the copper-tin complexes strong structural relaxation of the excited triplet states whereas those effects are found to be much smaller in the case of the copper-titanium complex.

Abstract
Two organometallic ligands L1 (trans-[p-MeSC6H4C≡C-Pt(PR3)2-C≡CC6H4SMe; R = Me]) and L2 (R = Et) react with CuX salts (X = Cl, Br, I) in MeCN to form one-dimensional (1D) or two-dimensional (2D) coordination polymers (CPs). The clusters formed with copper halide can either be step cubane Cu4I4, rhomboids Cu2X2, or simply CuI. The formed CPs with L1, which is less sterically demanding than L2, exhibit a crystallization solvent molecule (MeCN), whereas those formed with L2 do not incorporate MeCN molecules in the lattice. These CPs were characterized by X-ray crystallography, thermogravimetric analysis, IR, Raman, absorption, and emission spectra as well as photophysical measurements in the presence and absence of crystallization MeCN molecules for those CPs with the solvent in the lattice (i.e., [(Cu4I4)L1·MeCN] n (CP1), [(Cu2Br2)L1·2MeCN] n (CP3), and [(Cu2Cl2)L1·MeCN] n (CP5)). The crystallization molecules were removed under vacuum to evaluate the porosity of the materials by Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (N2 at 77 K). The 2D CP shows a reversible type 1 adsorption isotherm for both CO2 and N2, indicative of microporosity, whereas the 1D CPs do not capture more solvent molecules or CO2.

Abstract
Addition of 2 equiv. of CuI to a [Cu]4 multimetallic complex results in cluster formation leading to the isolation of a rare bicapped tetrahedral [Cu6I2] cluster that is stabilised by two conformationally constrained polynucleating ligands.
