Abstract
Coupling charge impurity scattering effects and charge-carrier modulation by doping can offer intriguing opportunities for atomic-level control of resistive switching (RS). Nonetheless, such effects have remained unexplored for memristive applications based on 2D materials. Here a facile approach is reported to transform an RS-inactive rhenium disulfide (ReS2 ) into an effective switching material through interfacial modulation induced by molybdenum-irradiation (Mo-i) doping. Using ReS2 as a model system, this study unveils a unique RS mechanism based on the formation/dissolution of metallic β-ReO2 filament across the defective ReS2 interface during the set/reset process. Through simple interfacial modulation, ReS2 of various thicknesses are switchable by modulating the Mo-irradiation period. Besides, the Mo-irradiated ReS2 (Mo-ReS2 ) memristor further exhibits a bipolar non-volatile switching ratio of nearly two orders of magnitude, programmable multilevel resistance states, and long-term synaptic plasticity. Additionally, the fabricated device can achieve a high MNIST learning accuracy of 91% under a non-identical pulse train. The study's findings demonstrate the potential for modulating RS in RS-inactive 2D materials via the unique doping-induced charged impurity scattering property.

Abstract
Because of its high conductivity and intrinsic stability, poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (PEDOT) has gained great attention both in academic research and industry over the years. In this study, we used the oxidative molecular layer deposition (oMLD) technique to deposit PEDOT from 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) and a new inorganic oxidizing agent, rhenium pentachloride (ReCl5). We extensively characterized the properties of the films by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), Raman, and conductivity measurements. The oMLD of polymers is based on the sequential adsorption of the monomer and its oxidation-induced polymerization. However, oMLD has been scarcely used because of the challenge of finding a suitable combination of volatile, reactive, and stable organic monomers applicable at high temperatures. ReCl5 showed promising properties in oMLD because it has high thermal stability and high oxidizing ability for EDOT. PEDOT films were deposited at temperatures of 125-200 °C. EDS and XPS measurements showed that the as-deposited films contained residues of rhenium and chlorine, which could be removed by rinsing the films with deionized water. The polymer films were transparent in the visible region and showed relatively high electrical conductivities within the 2-2000 S cm-1 range.

Abstract
We present a study on the phase stability of dense carbon dioxide (CO_{2}) at extreme pressure-temperature conditions, up to 6200 K within the pressure range 37±9 to 106±17 GPa. The investigations of high-pressure high-temperature in situ x-ray diffraction patterns recorded from laser-heated CO_{2}, as densified in diamond-anvil cells, consistently reproduced the exclusive formation of polymeric tetragonal CO_{2}-V at any condition achieved in repetitive laser-heating cycles. Using well-considered experimental arrangements, which prevent reactions with metal components of the pressure cells, annealing through laser heating was extended individually up to approximately 40 min per cycle in order to keep track of upcoming instabilities and changes with time. The results clearly exclude any decomposition of CO_{2}-V into the elements as previously suggested. Alterations of the Bragg peak distribution on Debye-Scherrer rings indicate grain coarsening at temperatures >4000 K, giving a glimpse of the possible extension of the stability of the polymeric solid phase.

Abstract
The laser-heating diamond-anvil cell technique enables direct investigations of materials under high pressures and temperatures, usually confining the samples with high yield strength W and Re gaskets. This work presents experimental data that evidences the chemical reactivity between these refractory metals and CO2 or carbonates at temperatures above 1300 °Ϲ and pressures above 6 GPa. Metal oxides and diamond are identified as reaction products. Recommendations to minimize non-desired chemical reactions in high-pressure high-temperature experiments are given.

Abstract
Carbon dioxide is a widespread simple molecule in the Universe. In spite of its simplicity it has a very complex phase diagram, forming both amorphous and crystalline extended phases above 40 GPa. The stability range and nature of these phases are still debated, especially in view of their possible role within the deep carbon cycle. Here, we report static synchrotron X-ray diffraction and Raman high-pressure experiments in the megabar range providing evidence for the stability of the polymeric phase V at pressure-temperature conditions relevant to the Earth's lowermost mantle. The equation of state has been extended to 120 GPa and, contrary to earlier experimental findings, neither dissociation into diamond and ε-oxygen nor ionization was observed. Severe deviatoric stress and lattice deformation along with preferred orientation are removed on progressive annealing, thus suggesting CO2-V as the stable structure also above one megabar.

Abstract
We report the formation of an ultrahigh CO2-loaded pure-SiO2 silicalite-1 structure at high pressure (0.7 GPa) from the interaction of empty zeolite and fluid CO2 medium. The CO2-filled structure was characterized in situ by means of synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction. Rietveld refinements and Fourier recycling allowed the location of 16 guest carbon dioxide molecules per unit cell within the straight and sinusoidal channels of the porous framework to be analyzed. The complete filling of pores by CO2 molecules favors structural stability under compression, avoiding pressure-induced amorphization below 20 GPa, and significantly reduces the compressibility of the system compared to that of the parental empty one. The structure of CO2-loaded silicalite-1 was also monitored at high pressures and temperatures, and its thermal expansivity was estimated.

Abstract
We report on high-pressure and high-temperature angle-dispersive synchrotron X-ray diffraction and high-pressure Raman data up to 27 GPa and 700 K for natural silicate carbonate Ca5(SiO4)2(CO3) spurrite mineral. No phase transition was found in the studied P-T range. The room-temperature bulk modulus of spurrite using Ne as the pressure-transmitting medium is B0 = 77(1) GPa with a first-pressure derivative of B0' = 5.9(2). The structure compression is highly anisotropic, the b axis being approximately 30% more compressible than the a and c axes. The volumetric thermal expansivity value around 8 GPa was estimated to be 4.1(3) × 10-5 K-1. A comparison with intimately related minerals CaCO3 calcite and aragonite and β-Ca2SiO4 larnite shows that, as the composition and structural features of spurrite suggest, its compressibility and thermal expansivity lie between those of the silicate and carbonate end members. The crystal chemistry and thermodynamic properties of spurrite are discussed.
