Abstract
Four novel isopolymolybdate-based coordination polymers (CPs), constructed from 2,6-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)pyridine (btp), 1,3-bis(4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)benzene (btb), and 3,5-bis(1-imidazolium)pyridine (bip), have been synthesized under a hydrothermal method: {[Co(btp)(H2O)2(β-Mo8O26)0.5]·3H2O}n (1), [Ni(btp)(H4Mo6O22)0.5]n (2), [Co(btb)(H2O)(β-Mo8O26)0.5]n (3), and {[Co(Hbip)2(H2O)2(γ-Mo8O26)]·6H2O}n (4). Complex 1 exhibits one 3D framework with an unexpected 3-nodal 2,4,6-c net topology containing the 1D {β-Mo8O26}n chains, 6-connected CoII centers, and V-type coordinated btp ligands. The neighboring [Mo6O22]4- anions of complex 2 are bridged by the NiII centers to build one 2D {Ni2(Mo6O22)} network, which is arranged into the 3D framework through the weak π···π stacking interactions. In compound 3, one 3D framework is formed by the adjacent 1D {Co2(btp)2}n chains connected by {β-Mo8O26}n units, which demonstrates a rare 4,6-c fsc topology. In complex 4, one 2D {Co(Hbip)2(γ-Mo8O26)} layer with a (4, 4) network is connected to one 3D hydrogen-bonding framework via N-H···O and O-H···O hydrogen bonds. Magnetic data indicate that complexes 1 and 4 exhibit antiferromagnetic behaviors, whereas complexes 2 and 3 reveal spin-canting magnetic behavior and metamagnetic behavior, respectively. In addition, the proton conductivity of complexes 3 and 4 was investigated, showing that compound 4 has good proton conductivity at 85 °C and a relative humidity of 98% RH.

RSC Adv 2019; 9:21086-21094. Abstract
Two new Zn(ii) coordination complexes, formulated as [Zn(opda)(pbib)] (1) and [Zn(ppda)(pbib)(H2O)] (2), (H2opda = 1,2-phenylenediacetic acid, H2ppda = 1,4-phenylene-diacetic acid, pbib = 1,4-bis(1-imidazoly)benzene), have been synthesized. The opda ligands extend a 1D chain containing (Zn-pbib) polymer chains into a 2D layer in 1. In 2, the ppda ligands link Zn(ii) atoms to form a 2D network, then the rigid bis(imidazole) ligands give rise to the 3D structure. The fluorescence property application and mechanisms of two complexes for detecting Cr2O7 2- and o-NP have been researched. For two complexes, the high quenching percentage in low concentration aqueous solution are 95.75% (Cr2O7 2-, 1), 95.28% (Cr2O7 2-, 2) and 97.56% (o-NP, 1), 96.59% (o-NP, 2). Compared with 2, complex 1 has higher quenching percentage, this could be because 1 is a 3D supramolecular with a large hole. The detection limits have been measured to be 2.992 × 10-7 M (Cr2O7 2-, 1), and 4.372 × 10-7 M (Cr2O7 2-, 2), 2.103 × 10-7 M (o-NP, 1), 1.862 × 10-7 M (o-NP, 2), respectively. The emissions of two complexes could be effectively and selectively quenched by o-NP and Cr2O7 2-, showing their potential as multi-responsive luminescent sensors.

Abstract
Developing feasible ways to achieve tunable gate-opening pressure (Pgo) while minimizing the side effects on the adsorption capacity and enthalpy is greatly desired for flexible MOFs. In this work, we focused on solving this issue by cobalt substitution. We showed the successful modulation of the energy required for the reversible transformation of a soft paddle-wheel so that the whole framework presented a substitution-dependent Pgo for CO2 adsorption.

Abstract
The solvothermal reactions of 5,5′-(1,4-phenylenebis(methyleneoxy))diisophthalic acid (H4L) and the N-donor ancillary ligand 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethyl-4,4′-bipyrazole (bpz) with cadmium(ii) salts at two different reaction temperatures yielded two new metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), viz., [Cd(H2L)(bpz)]n (1) and [Cd2(H4L)(L)(bpz)2]n (2), which have been characterized by FTIR and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The single crystal X-ray diffraction studies revealed that 1 displays a 3-periodic network with monometallic SBU, while 2 exhibits a 3-periodic network with a 2-fold interpenetration feature. The effects of variation in reaction temperature on the architecture of MOFs 1 and 2 have been discussed. The luminescence investigation indicates that both 1 and 2 displayed good turn-off luminescence sensing against nitroaromatic compounds (NACs), especially m-nitrophenol (MNP), via a decrease in their luminescence intensities with a Ksv value of 6.43 × 103 for 1 and 2.03 × 104 for 2 and LOD values of 1.09 and 0.81 ppm for 1 and 2, respectively. The plausible mechanism for the decline in luminescence intensity of the MOFs with NACs has been addressed using theoretical calculations. The photocatalytic properties for both the MOFs demonstrated that they display efficient photocatalytic performances to degrade methyl violet (MV) under UV irradiation. The plausible mechanism through which these MOFs exhibited photocatalytic properties has been suggested using band gap calculations. Two new d10-based Cd(ii) MOFs were synthesized and their photoluminescence sensing to selectively detect m-nitrophenol (MNP) and ability to decompose the organic dye methyl violet (MV) were explored.![]()

Abstract
Under hydrothermal conditions, an open-chain N73− anion stabilized in a metal–organic framework (MOF) was achieved for the first time via the in situ reaction of 4-fluorobenzonitrile and sodium azide with Pb2+ ion as catalyst. The anion with C2h symmetry in the MOF was studied by FT-IR, single-crystal XRD and theoretical calculations. Thermal analysis results demonstrated the stability of the anion in the MOF below 430 °C and a high energy content of 8.61 kJ g−1. The anion is also a good reducing agent. It can easily react with basic KMnO4 solution. Moreover, the present study indicates that the Pb2+ ion activates the azide rather than nitrile in the in situ reaction of nitriles with azides to form polynitrogen and this mechanism is a distinct contradiction with the previous results in which the nitrile reacts with azide in the presence of transition metal ions. Our findings may open a new avenue towards the synthesis and capture of polynitrogen compounds. Heptanitrogen anion: a chain of seven nitrogen atoms stabilized in a MOF has been isolated for the first time.![]()
