Abstract
Comprehensive studies combining X-ray diffraction analysis, thermophysical, dynamic measurements by probe method and scanning electron microscopy have been carried out. The peculiarity of the crystalline and amorphous structure of ultra-thin fibers based on poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) containing minor concentrations (0–5%) of a gene and a tetraphenylporphyrin (TFP) complex with iron (in the form of FeCl) are considered. When these complexes are added to the PHB fibers, the morphology of the fibers change: a sharp change in the crystallinity and molecular mobility in the amorphous regions of PHB is observed. When adding a gel to the fibers of PHB, a significant decrease in the degree of crystallinity, melting enthalpy, and correlation time can be observed. The reverse pattern is observed in a system with the addition of FeCl-TFP—there is a significant increase in the degree of crystallinity, melting enthalpy and correlation time. Exposure of PHB fibers with gemin in an aqueous medium at 70 °C leads to a decrease in the enthalpy of melting in modified fibers—to an increase in this parameter. The molecular mobility of chains in amorphous regions of PHB/gemin fibers increases at the same time, a nonlinear dependence of changes in molecular dynamics is observed in PHB/FeCl-TFP fibers. Ozonolysis has a complex effect on the amorphous structure of the studied systems. The obtained fibrous materials have bactericidal properties and should be used in the creation of new therapeutic systems of antibacterial and antitumor action.

Abstract
A series of porphyrin triads (1–6), based on the reaction of trans-dihydroxo-[5,15-bis(3-pyridyl)-10,20-bis(phenyl)porphyrinato]tin(IV) (SnP) with six different phenoxy Zn(II)-porphyrins (ZnLn), was synthesized. The cooperative metal–ligand coordination of 3-pyridyl nitrogens in the SnP with the phenoxy Zn(II)-porphyrins, followed by the self-assembly process, leads to the formation of nanostructures. The red-shifts and remarkable broadening of the absorption bands in the UV–vis spectra for the triads in CHCl3 indicate that nanoaggregates may be produced in the self-assembly process of these triads. The emission intensities of the triads were also significantly reduced due to the aggregation. Microscopic analyses of the nanostructures of the triads reveal differences due to the different substituents on the axial Zn(II)-porphyrin moieties. All these nanomaterials exhibited efficient photocatalytic performances in the degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) dye under visible light irradiation, and the degradation efficiencies of RhB in aqueous solution were observed to be 72~95% within 4 h. In addition, the efficiency of the catalyst was not impaired, showing excellent recyclability even after being applied for the degradation of RhB in up to five cycles.

Abstract
Aromatic amino acids such as l‐tyrosine and l‐tryptophan are deployed in natural systems to mediate electron transfer (ET) reactions. While tyrosine oxidation is always coupled to deprotonation (proton‐coupled electron‐transfer, PCET), both ET‐only and PCET pathways can occur in the case of the tryptophan residue. In the present work, two novel conjugates 1 and 2, based on a SnIV tetraphenylporphyrin and SnIV octaethylporphyrin, respectively, as the chromophore/electron acceptor and l‐tryptophan as electron/proton donor, have been prepared and thoroughly characterized by a combination of different techniques including single crystal X‐ray analysis. The photophysical investigation of 1 and 2 in CH2Cl2 in the presence of pyrrolidine as a base shows that different quenching mechanisms are operating upon visible‐light excitation of the porphyrin component, namely photoinduced electron transfer and concerted proton electron transfer (CPET), depending on the chromophore identity and spin multiplicity of the excited state. The results are compared with those previously described for metal‐mediated analogues featuring SnIV porphyrin chromophores and l‐tyrosine as the redox active amino acid and well illustrate the peculiar role of l‐tryptophan with respect to PCET.

Abstract
A panchromatic triad, consisting of benzothiazole (BTZ) and BF2 -chelated boron-dipyrromethene (BODIPY) moieties covalently linked to a zinc porphyrin (ZnP) core, has been synthesized and systematically characterized by using 1 H NMR spectroscopy, ESI-MS, UV-visible, steady-state fluorescence, electrochemical, and femtosecond transient absorption techniques. The absorption band of the triad, BTZ-BODIPY-ZnP, and dyads, BTZ-BODIPY and BODIPY-ZnP, along with the reference compounds BTZ-OMe, BODIPY-OMe, and ZnP-OMe exhibited characteristic bands corresponding to individual chromophores. Electrochemical measurements on BTZ-BODIPY-ZnP exhibited redox behavior similar to that of the reference compounds. Upon selective excitation of BTZ (≈290 nm) in the BTZ-BODIPY-ZnP triad, the fluorescence of the BTZ moiety is quenched, due to photoinduced energy transfer (PEnT) from 1 BTZ* to the BODIPY moiety, followed by quenching of the BODIPY emission due to sequential PEnT from the 1 BODIPY* moiety to ZnP, resulting in the appearance of the ZnP emission, indicating the occurrence of a two-step singlet-singlet energy transfer. Further, a supramolecular tetrad, BTZ-BODIPY-ZnP:ImC60 , was formed by axially coordinating the triad with imidazole-appended fulleropyrrolidine (ImC60 ), and parallel steady-state measurements displayed the diminished emission of ZnP, which clearly indicated the occurrence of photoinduced electron transfer (PET) from 1 ZnP* to ImC60 . Finally, femtosecond transient absorption spectral studies provided evidence for the sequential occurrence of PEnT and PET events, namely, 1 BTZ* -BODIPY-ZnP:ImC60 →BTZ-1 BODIPY* -ZnP:ImC60 →BTZ-BODIPY-1 ZnP* :ImC60 →BTZ-BODIPY-ZnP.+ :ImC60 .- in the supramolecular tetrad. The evaluated rate of energy transfer, kEnT , was found to be 3-5×1010 s-1 , which was slightly faster than that observed in the case of BODIPY-ZnP and BTZ-BODIPY-ZnP, lacking the coordinated ImC60 . The rate constants for charge separation and recombination, kCS and kCR , respectively, calculated by monitoring the rise and decay of C60 .- were found to be 5.5×1010 and 4.4×108 s-1 , respectively, for the BODIPY-ZnP:ImC60 triad, and 3.1×1010 and 4.9×108 s-1 , respectively, for the BTZ-BODIPY-ZnP:ImC60 tetrad. Initial excitation of the tetrad, promoting two-step energy transfer and a final electron-transfer event, has been successfully demonstrated in the present study.

Abstract
A series of porphyrin triads (1–4), in which each triad is composed of a Sn(IV) porphyrin and two free-base (or Zn(II)) porphyrins, was synthesized and their self-assembled nanostructures were studied. Depending on the substituent on porphyrin moieties, each triad was self-assembled into a different nanostructure. In particular, the cooperative coordination of 3-pyridyl groups in the Sn(IV) porphyrin with the axial Zn(II) porphyrins in triad 4 leads to forming uniform nanofibers with an average width of 10–22 nm. Other triads without the coordinating interaction between the central Sn(IV) porphyrin and the axial porphyrins formed irregularly shaped aggregates in contrast. The morphologies of nanofiber changed drastically upon the addition of pyrrolidine, in which pyrrolidine molecules break down the self-assembly process by coordinating with the axial Zn(II) porphyrins. All porphyrin aggregates exhibited efficient photocatalytic performances on the degradation of methylene blue dye under visible light irradiation. The degradation efficiencies after 2 h were observed to be between 70% and 95% for the aggregates derived from the four triads.

Abstract
A simple and straightforward synthesis of diporphyrins and pentaporphyrins is reported here. The supramolecular interactions of the new porphyrin derivatives with C60 and PyC60 (a pyridyl [60]fulleropyrrolidine) were evaluated by absorption and fluorescence titrations in toluene. While no measurable modifications of the absorption and fluorescence spectra were observed upon addition of C60 to the porphyrin derivatives, the addition of PyC60 to the corresponding mono-Zn(II) porphyrins resulted in the formation of Zn(porphyrin)-PyC60 coordination complexes and the binding constants were calculated. Results show that the four free-base porphyrin units in pentaporphyrin 6 have a significant contribution in the stabilization of the 6-PyC60 complex. The crystal and molecular features of the pentaporphyrin Zn5 were unveiled using single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies.
