Abstract
Herein, we present a novel strategy for synthesizing polyfluorinated compounds by the fluorotrifluoromethylation of olefins, which was achieved through a new trifluoromethyl-iodine(III) reagent TFNI-1. TFNI-1 was readily synthesized via a three-step process, and its structure was characterized by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. It is shown by radical trapping and radical clock experiments that the reaction involves the CF3 radical intermediate.

Abstract
Herein, we reported a so far unprecedented Mn(OAc)3·2H2O-promoted homolytic aromatic sulfonation. The reaction was performed under mild conditions with K2S2O5 employed as a green sulfonating reagent. Various arenes were successfully converted into desired sulfonic acids or sulfonates in high efficiency. Preliminary mechanistic studies demonstrated that the present reaction proceeds via a homolytic aromatic substitution-type mechanism involving an SO3- radical. The combination of Mn(OAc)3·2H2O and HFIP plays a crucial role.

Abstract
The direct C–H trifluoromethylation of alkynes and quinoxalinones has been achieved using a graphene oxide/Langlois' reagent system. This multi-component tandem reaction using graphene oxide as the catalyst and Langlois' reagent as the robust CF3 radical source results in the formation of olefinic C–CF3 to access a series of 3-trifluoroalkylated quinoxalin-2(1H)-ones. Abstract
Incorporation of fluorine into organic molecules is a well-established strategy in the design of advanced materials, agrochemicals, and pharmaceuticals. Among numerous modern synthetic approaches, functionalization of unsaturated bonds with simultaneous addition of trifluoromethyl group along with other substituents is currently one of the most attractive methods undergoing wide-ranging development. In this review article, we discuss the most significant contributions made in this area during the last decade (2012−2021). The reactions reviewed in this work include chloro-, bromo-, iodo-, fluoro- and cyano-trifluoromethylation of alkenes and alkynes.

Abstract
Carbohydrates play essential roles in various physiological and pathological processes. Trifluoromethylated compounds have wide applications in the field of medicinal chemistry. Herein, we report a practical and efficient trifluoromethylation of glycals by an electrochemical approach using CF3SO2Na as the trifluoromethyl source and MnBr2 as the redox mediator. A variety of trifluoromethylated glycals bearing different protective groups are obtained in 60-90% yields with high regioselectivity. The successful capture of a CF3 radical indicates that a radical mechanism is involved in this reaction.
