Abstract
The intermolecular oxime radical addition to CC bonds was observed and studied for the first time. The diacetyliminoxyl radical was proposed as a model radical reagent for the study of oxime radical reactivity towards unsaturated substrates, which is important in the light of the active development of synthetic applications of oxime radicals. In the present work it was found that the diacetyliminoxyl radical reacts with vinylarenes and conjugated dienes to give radical addition products, whereas unconjugated alkenes can undergo radical addition or allylic hydrogen substitution by diacetyliminoxyl depending on the substrate structure. Remarkably, substituted alkenes give high yields of C-O coupling products despite the significant steric hindrance, whereas unsubstituted alkenes give lower yields of the C-O coupling products. The observed atypical C-O coupling yield dependence on the alkene structure was explained by the discovered ability of the diacetyliminoxyl radical to attack alkenes with the formation of a C-N bond instead of a C-O bond giving side products. This side process is not expected for sterically hindered alkenes due to lower steric availability of the N-atom in diacetyliminoxyl than that of the O-atom.

Abstract
A series of indolyl or imidazo[1,2-a]pyridinyl-substituted para-quinone methides (p-QMs) is prepared by a metal-free, TEMPO-mediated cross-dehydrogenative coupling of butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) with indoles or imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines in good to high yields. Broad substrate scope with respect to indoles and imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines, good functional group tolerance, and acid/base-free conditions are advantageous feature of the developed protocol. The method was amenable for scale-up on the gram scale. Based on control experiments, a reaction mechanism is proposed to describe this transformation.

Abstract
A novel, easy-to-handle, and regioselective vicinal dioxidation of alkenes under transition metal and organic peroxide free conditions has been developed. This approach uses N-hydroxyphthalimide and its analogues as the transient nitroxyl-radical precursors and 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxoammonium tetrafluoroborate (TEMPO+BF4-) as the oxidant as well as the source of persistent nitroxide. By employing this method, multifarious structurally important dioxidation products were efficiently synthesized from simple alkenes and complex bioactive molecule derivatives.

Abstract
A new copper-catalyzed two-component amino-benzoyloxylation of unactivated alkenes of unsaturated ketoximes with O-benzoylhydroxylamines as the benzoyloxy sources is developed. Chemoselectivity of this method toward amino-benzoyloxylation or oxy-benzoyloxylation of alkenyl ketoximes relies on the position of the tethered olefins, and provides an external-oxidant-free alkene difunctionalization route that directly utilizes O-benzoylhydroxylamines as the benzoyloxy radical precursors and internal oxidants for the divergent synthesis of cyclic nitrones and isoxazolines.

Abstract
N-Oxyl radicals (compounds with an N-O• fragment) represent one of the richest families of stable and persistent organic radicals with applications ranging from catalysis of selective oxidation processes and mechanistic studies to production of polymers, energy storage, magnetic materials design and spectroscopic studies of biological objects. Compared to other N-oxyl radicals, oxime radicals (or iminoxyl radicals) have been underestimated for a long time as useful intermediates for organic synthesis, despite the fact that their precursors, oximes, are extremely widespread and easily available organic compounds. Furthermore, oxime radicals are structurally exceptional. In these radicals, the N-O• fragment is connected to an organic moiety by a double bond, whereas all other classes of N-oxyl radicals contain an R2N-O• fragment with two single C-N bonds. Although oxime radicals have been known since 1964, their broad synthetic potential was not recognized until the last decade, when numerous selective reactions of oxidative cyclization, functionalization, and coupling mediated by iminoxyl radicals were discovered. This review is focused on the synthetic methods based on iminoxyl radicals developed in the last ten years and also contains some selected data on previous works regarding generation, structure, stability, and spectral properties of these N-oxyl radicals. The reactions of oxime radicals are classified into intermolecular (oxidation by oxime radicals, oxidative C-O coupling) and intramolecular. The majority of works are devoted to intramolecular reactions of oxime radicals. Abstract
Nitrones are important compounds and are highly useful in many aspects. The first part describes the methods for synthesis of nitrones, which are useful and environmentally friendly. Catalytic oxidations, condensations, and other useful reactions are described. The nitrones thus obtained are key intermediates for the synthesis of biologically important nitrogen compounds. The second part describes the fundamental transformations of nitrones, which will provide the strategies and means for the construction of nitrogen compounds. The reactions with nucleophiles or radicals, C-H functionalization, and various addition reactions are described. The last reactions are particularly important for highly selective carbon-carbon bond formations. 1,3-Dipolar cycloaddition reactions are excluded because the size of the review is limited and excellent reviews have been published in Chemical Reviews.

Abstract
A variety of ketonitrones were synthesized in moderate to excellent yields with high chemo-, regio-, and stereoselectivity by using carbonyl-directed addition of N-alkylhydroxylamines to unactivated alkynes under mild conditions. The product diverisity could be controlled by the use of different bases, and EtN( n-Pr)2 could promote the formation of ketonitrones while using EtONa as base led to indanone-derived nitrones. Control experiments indicated that the carbonyl group of the substrate acted as an H-bond acceptor except for an electron-withdrawing group, and conjugated enone skeleton accounted for the high selectivity.

Abstract
An efficient multicomponent reaction for the synthesis of stereoenriched cyclopentyl-isoxazoles from camphor-derived α-oximes, alkynes, and MeOH is reported. Our method involved a series of cascade transformations, including the in situ generation of an IIII catalyst, which catalyzed the addition of MeOH to a sterically hindered ketone. Oxidation of the oxime, and rearrangement of the α-hydroxyiminium ion generated a nitrile oxide in situ, which, upon [3+2] cycloaddition reaction with an alkyne, delivered the regioselective product. This reaction was very selective for the syn-oxime. This multicomponent approach was also extended to the synthesis of a new glycoconjugate, camphoric ester-isoxazole C-galactoside.

Abstract
An efficient quinidine-based phase-transfer-catalyzed enantioselective cascade oxa-Michael-cyclization reaction of hydroxylamine with various β-carboxy-substituted α,β-unsaturated ketones has been achieved for the preparation of chiral carboxy-substituted 2-isoxazolines. This cascade reaction provided the desired products in good yields (up to 98%) with excellent enantioselectivities (91-96% ee). In addition, the cascade reaction was effectively applied to the first catalytic asymmetric synthesis of the herbicide (S)-methiozolin.

Iminoxyl radicalsvs. tert-butylperoxyl radical in competitive oxidative C–O coupling with β-dicarbonyl compounds. Oxime ether formation prevails over Kharasch peroxidation. RSC Adv 2018; 8:5670-5677. Abstract
Oxidative coupling of oxime and β-dicarbonyl compounds dominates in a β-dicarbonyl compound/oxime/Cu(ii)/t-BuOOH system; in the absence of oxime, oxidative coupling of t-BuOOH and a β-dicarbonyl compound (Kharasch peroxidation) takes place. The proposed conditions for oxidative coupling of oximes with dicarbonyl compounds require only catalytic amounts of copper salt and t-BuOOH serves as a terminal oxidant. The C–O coupling reaction proceeds via the formation of tert-butoxyl, tert-butylperoxyl and iminoxyl radicals. Apparently, tert-butylperoxyl radicals oxidize oxime into iminoxyl radical faster than they react with β-dicarbonyl compounds forming the Kharasch peroxidation product. Iminoxyl radicals are responsible for the formation of the target C–O coupling products; the yields are up to 77%. The Kharasch peroxidation system Cu(ii)cat./t-BuOOH, the source of t-BuOO˙ radicals, can be switched to generate iminoxyl radicals by adding various oximes.![]()
