Abstract
An operationally simple Ag(I)-catalyzed approach for the synthesis of isoquinoline and quinazoline fused 1,2,3-triazoles was developed by a condensation and amination cyclization cascade of amino-NH-1,2,3-triazoles with 2-alkynylbenzaldehydes involving three new C-N bond formations in one manipulation, in which the group of -NH of the triazole ring serves as a nucleophile to form the quinazoline skeleton. The efficient protocol can be applied to a variety of substrates containing a range of functional groups, delivering novel pentacyclic fused 1,2,3-triazoles in good-to-excellent yields.

Abstract
Herein, N2-selective β-thioalkylation of benzotriazoles with unactivated alkenes and styrenes is reported. The N2-selective β-thioalkylation of benzotriazoles is highly stereospecific and works under simple and mild conditions, exhibiting excellent functional group tolerance. The high N2-selectivity is a consequence of the combination of hydrogen bonding and Lewis acid/base activation, which reverses the N2-position to be favored for alkylation.

Abstract
AbstractThe widespread use of 1,2,3-triazole compounds in drugs has resulted in a great interest in the efficient synthesis of N2-substituted 1,2,3-triazoles via post triazole functionalization methods. At present, there are many methods for the synthesis of N1-substituted 1,2,3-triazole compounds, but the development of convenient methods for the N2-selective functionalization of 1,2,3-triazoles remains challenging. In general, the greater stability of the N1 tautomer makes the N2 position a non-preferable reactive site, which has limited the application of 1,2,3-triazoles. In this review, we summarized advances in the direct N2-selective functionalization of 1,2,3-triazoles since 2008.1 Introduction2 N2-Alkylation3 N2-Allylation4 N2-Propargylation5 N2-Alkenylation6 N2-Alkynylation7 N2-Arylation8 Conclusions and Outlook

Abstract
The anion radicals of N1- and N2-alkylbenzotriazoles and alkyltriazoles (alkyl = methyl or isopropyl) have been generated by low-temperature potassium metal reduction in tetrahydrofuran. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) analysis and density functional theory calculations reveal that the electron spin distribution within the triazole ring of these systems is markedly different. The magnitude of the electron-nitrogen couplings along with the calculated spin densities reveals that the N2-alkylbenzotriazole and N2-alkyltriazole anion radicals have significantly greater electron spin residing within the N3 portion of the triazole ring compared with that of the respective N1 isomers. These differences impact the overall geometry of the triazole ring where both N2-isomers lose planarity upon reduction. Experimental and computational results reveal that the N2-methyltriazole anion radical has the largest concentration of electron spin residing in the N3 moiety compared to that of the other three anion radicals studied. Significant anisotropic line broadening is observed in the EPR spectrum of the N2-methyltriazole anion radical, which is a consequence of the large nitrogen hyperfine couplings and sufficiently slow rotational motion of this species in solution.

Abstract
A N2-selective β-selenoalkylation of 1,2,3-triazoles with alkenes mediated by diamines has been developed. The reaction proceeds presumably via the interaction of diamines with both the triazole moiety and selenium/alkene complex to construct a U-shaped reaction intermediate. This activation mode will block the N1 position on triazoles and thus favor the N2-selective selenoamination. This stereospecific anti-addition method enables an efficient N2-selective β-selenoalkylation of 1,2,3-triazoles under mild and open-air conditions and might find applications in the synthesis of biologically active molecules.

Abstract
Copper chalcogenide nanoparticles (Cu2S) synthesized for the first time from a single-source precursor, CuSPh, act as highly efficient and reusable heterogeneous catalyst for regioselective amination of N, N-dimethylbenzylamines with various azoles. The reaction involves N-H/C-H cross-dehydrogenative coupling (CDC) and demonstrates wide functional group tolerance. It provides highly selective access to N1-alkylated benzotriazoles, N2-alkylated 1,2,3-triazoles and 4-phenyl-1,2,3-triazoles, and N-alkylated carbazoles in 70-89% yields under solvent-free conditions. The Cu2S nanocatalyst has been characterized by PXRD, XPS, SEM-EDX, and HR-TEM analysis. Mechanistic studies suggest that the reaction follows a radical pathway and involves an iminium ion intermediate.

Abstract
A strategy for the synthesis of 2-halo allylic aminal derivatives through regioselective 1,2-addition of allenamides with N-haloimides is presented. This reaction was conducted under very mild conditions and gave up to 99% yield. Moreover, the obtained halides allow functional group diversification by palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions, which could act as potential intermediates for the synthesis of valuable compounds.

Abstract
Despite the fact that N1-functionalization of NH-1,2,3-triazoles has been known for several decades, enantioselective variants of this reaction have only recently been developed. Nevertheless, functionalization at the N2-position of NH-1,2,3-triazoles leading to optically active N2-substituted triazoles is not yet developed. In this article, we report, for the first time, the asymmetric aza-Michael reaction of 4-aryl-NH-1,2,3-triazoles to cyclic enones under the catalytic influence of chiral bifunctional thiourea organocatalysts for the enantioselective generation of 2,4-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles. The cinchonine-derived thiourea catalyst III worked efficiently in the current transformation to produce N2-functionalized 1,2,3-triazoles as major products in optical yields up to >99.9% along with minor 1,4-disubstitued 1,2,3-triazoles.

Abstract
A new method was developed to synthesize N2-alkyl-substituted 1,2,3-triazoles via gold catalyzed alkylation of vinyl ethers with mono- and unsubstituted NH-1,2,3-triazoles and benzotriazole. A hydrogen bond between the oxygen atom of the vinyl ethers, activated via the gold catalyst, and the NH-1,2,3-triazoles was supposed to be generated, which selectively gave the N2-alkylation products. A new method was developed to synthesize N2-alkyl-substituted 1,2,3-triazoles via gold catalyzed alkylation of vinyl ethers with mono- and unsubstituted NH-1,2,3-triazoles and benzotriazole.![]()

Abstract
An efficient copper-catalyzed C-N bond formation by N-H/C-H cross-dehydrogenative coupling (CDC) between NH-1,2,3-triazoles and N,N-dialkylamides has been developed. The method provided N-amidoalkylated 1,2,3-triazoles with moderate to high yields, and the reactions showed high N2-selectivities when 4,5-disubstituted NH-1,2,3-triazoles served as the substrates.

Abstract
An efficient and highly regioselective synthesis of 1-allenyl-5-aryl-1,2,3-triazoles from 1-sulfonyl-4-aryl-1,2,3-triazoles is disclosed. 1-Sulfonyl-4-aryl-1,2,3-triazoles reacted with propargylic alcohols in the presence of trifluoroboron etherate to furnish 1-allenyl-5-aryl-1,2,3-triazoles. When secondary alcohols were used as substrate, the outcome of the reaction was 1-alkyl-5-aryl-1,2,3-triazoles.
