Abstract
A novel and efficient method for functionalizing organosulfones has been established, utilizing a visible-light-driven intermolecular radical cascade cyclization of α-allyl-β-ketosulfones. This process employs fac-Ir(ppy)3 as the photoredox catalyst and α-carbonyl alkyl bromide as the oxidizing agent. Via this approach, the substrates experience intermolecular addition of α-carbonyl alkyl radicals to the alkene bonds, initiating a sequence of C-C bond formations that culminate in the production of organosulfone derivatives. Notably, this technique features gentle reaction conditions and an exceptional compatibility with a wide array of functional groups, making it a versatile and valuable addition to the field of organic synthesis.

Abstract
We describe a facile-operational, high-yield method for the diastereocontrolled preparation of novel sulfonyl benzofused fluorooxabicyclo[4.2.1]nonanes by a straightforward synthetic route, including (i) NaBH4-mediated reduction of sulfonyl 3-methylene-oxabenzocyclooctan-6-ones and (ii) BF3·OEt2-mediated intramolecular nucleophilic fluorocyclization. The plausible mechanism for the preparation is proposed and discussed. This protocol can easily install a fluoro-atom on the bridged head position in a short time and under mild conditions, resulting in one carbon-carbon and one carbon-fluorine bond formation.

Abstract
An organocatalytic [4 + 2] cascade annulation of salicylaldehydes and 1,3-bisarylsulfonylpropenes has been developed. This protocol enables the efficient and straightforward synthesis of a new series of 3-sulfonyl-2-sulfonylmethyl-2H-chromenes that are useful for exploring pharmacologically valued compounds. Further reductive modifications result in 3-desulfonylated chromene or chromane derivatives. This protocol can be expanded to the synthesis of 3-sulfonyl-2-sulfonylmethyl 1,2-dihydroquinoline.

Abstract
This review mainly focuses on recent developments in the preparation of β-keto sulfones and their extensive synthetic applications. New prospects for the synthesis of β-keto thiosulfones have also been highlighted. Over the last decade, there has been exponential growth in the direct construction of β-keto sulfones using a wide variety of keto and sulfonyl precursors. Of note, the most promising photoredox transformations and electrochemical synthesis methods of β-keto sulfones are also presented. Moreover, β-keto sulfones are versatile building blocks in organic synthesis due to their three essential functional groups: sulfonyl, carbonyl, and active methylene moieties. The convenient preparation of β-keto sulfones allows the synthesis of many valuable carbocyclic and heterocyclic compounds, and the effortless removal of the sulfonyl moiety via transformations is supported. The chemistry of β-keto sulfones (2013 to present) can be divided into several sections based on the sulfonyl surrogates, and ubiquitous synthetic strategies were systematically outlined.

Abstract
This study describes an efficient protocol for the preparation of substituted 2,4-diaryl-3-sulfonylquinolines from functionalized 2-aminobenzophenones and aromatic β-ketosulfones by using p-toluenesulfonic acid monohydrate under microwave irradiation. In this atom-economical synthetic route, a series of pharmaceutically active 3-arylsulfonylquinolines with good functional group tolerance are prepared in good to excellent yields. Abstract
In this work, a concise route for the synthesis of sulfonyl dibenzo-oxabicyclo[3.3.1]nonanes by a two-step route is described, including (i) NaBH4/LiCl-mediated reduction of 3-sulfonyl-2-benzylchromen-4-ones and (ii) sequential BF3·OEt2-mediated intramolecular annulation of the resulting 3-sulfonyl-2-benzylchroman-4-ols. A plausible mechanism is proposed and discussed herein. This protocol provides a highly effective stereocontrolled aryl-hydroxyl Friedel-Crafts-type cross-coupling to construct the tetra- or pentacyclic bridged framework. The use of various reaction conditions is investigated for an efficient transformation.

Abstract
A copper-based framework Cu2(OBA)2(BPY) was synthesized and used as a recyclable heterogeneous catalyst for the synthesis of β-sulfonylvinylamines from sodium sulfinates and oxime acetates via direct C-S coupling reaction. The transformation was remarkably affected by the solvent, and chlorobenzene emerged as the best option. This Cu-MOF displayed higher activity than numerous conventional homogeneous and MOF-based catalysts. The catalyst was reutilized many times in the synthesis of β-sulfonylvinylamines without considerably deteriorating in catalytic efficiency. These β-sulfonylvinylamines were readily converted to the corresponding β-ketosulfones via a hydrolysis step with aqueous HCl solution. To the best of our knowledge, this direct C-S coupling reaction to achieve β-sulfonylvinylamines was not previously conducted with a heterogeneous catalyst.
