Abstract
We demonstrate an efficient and sustainable strategy for the direct synthesis of 2,4-disubstituted quinazolines by arene Ru(II)benzhydrazone complex via the eco-friendly sequential acceptorless dehydrogenative coupling of 2-aminobenzhydrol derivatives and benzyl alcohols for the first time. The new ruthenium(II) complex of the general formula [(η6-p-cymene)Ru(L1)Cl] (L1-acenaphthenequinone hydrazone) has been synthesized and characterized by analytical, spectroscopic, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. A broad spectrum of 2,4-disubstituted quinazolines have been successfully derived (25 examples) from 2-aminobenzhydrol derivatives with various benzyl alcohols using 1 mol % of catalyst loading in the presence of NH4OAc. The present protocol is highly selective and produces a maximum yield of 95% under mild reaction conditions. The different reaction intermediates detected through control experiments such as aldehyde, 2-aminobenzophenone, benzylidene(amino)phenylmethanone, and 1,2-dihydroquinazoline are isolated and authenticated by the NMR study. Gratifyingly, the coupling reaction is a simple and atom economic with the release of water and hydrogen gas as the only byproducts. A gram-scale synthesis of 2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-4-phenylquinazoline illustrates the synthetic utility of the present protocol.

Abstract
An expeditious synthetic route to access functionalized pyrrolo[2,1-b]quinazoline scaffolds has been achieved via domino ring opening cyclization (DROC) reactions of donor-acceptor (D-A) cyclopropanes and 2-amino(methyl)aniline derivatives. This novel iron catalyzed transformation is amenable to a wide range of substrates. Three new C-N bonds and two rings were sequentially constructed in this divergent one-pot process. The advantages of simple operation, high yields and general applicability make this procedure highly attractive and practical too.

Abstract
Supramolecular nanoassemblies of an AIEE-ICT-active pyrazine derivative (TETPY) having strong absorption in the visible region and excellent transportability have been utilized as an efficient photoredox catalytic system for the synthesis of a variety of benzimidazoles having electron-withdrawing/electron-releasing/aliphatic groups under "metal-free" conditions. The reaction protocol involves the successful harvesting of visible light by TETPY assemblies to catalyze the coupling of o-phenylenediamine/substituted diamines and substituted aromatic/heterocyclic/aliphatic aldehydes under aerial conditions using mixed aqueous media as the reaction solvent. TETPY assemblies could activate aerial oxygen to generate superoxide for completing the vital proton abstraction step without the need for any external metal/base/oxidant. Moreover, all the products are purified by recrystallization from organic solvents. The TETPY assemblies also exhibited high efficiency in catalyzing the synthesis of 2-substituted benzothiazoles and quinazolines in excellent yields.

Abstract
An efficient metal-free synthesis of 2,4-substituted quinazolines via a hydrogen peroxide-mediated one-pot three-component reaction of 2-aminoaryl ketones, aldehydes, and ammonium acetate has been developed. The transformation proceeded readily under mild conditions in the presence of commercially available hydrogen peroxide. The significant advantages of this approach are (1) the readily available atom-efficient and green hydrogen peroxide as oxidant; (2) no transition metal catalyst is required; (3) mild reaction conditions; and (4) wide substrate scope. To the best of our knowledge, utilizing hydrogen peroxide as an atom-efficient and green oxidant for the synthesis of 2,4-substituted quinazolines has not previously been reported in the literature. This method is complementary to previous protocols for the synthesis of 2,4-substituted quinazolines. An efficient metal-free synthesis of 2,4-substituted quinazolines via a hydrogen peroxide-mediated one-pot three-component reaction of 2-aminoaryl ketones, aldehydes, and ammonium acetate has been developed.![]()

Abstract
Steviol glycosides (SGs), as natural sweeteners from Stevia rebaudiana, are currently employed for replacing sugar and its derivatives in several food products and formulations. Such compounds play an essential role in human health. Their usage provides a positive effect on preventing diseases related to sugar consumption, including diabetes mellitus, cancer, and lipid metabolism disorders. The traditional extraction of SGs is performed by means of solvent extraction, which limits their application since the removal of residual solvents is a challenging task requiring further downstream purification steps. In addition, the presence of residual solvents negatively affects the quality of such compounds. Today, food technicians are looking for innovative and improved techniques for the extraction, recovery and purification of SGs. Membrane-based technologies, including microfiltration, ultrafiltration, and nanofiltration, have long been proven to be a valid alternative for efficient extraction and purification of several high added-value molecules from natural sources. Such processes and their possible coupling in integrated membrane systems have been successfully involved in recovery protocols of several compounds, such as metabolites, polyphenols, anthocyanins, natural pigments, proteins, from different sources (e.g., agro-food wastes, plant extracts, fruits, fermentation broths, among others). Herein, we aim to review the current progresses and developments about the extraction of SGs with membrane operations. Our attention has been paid to the latest insights in the field. Furthermore, key process parameters influencing the extraction and purification of SGs are also discussed in detail.

Abstract
In this paper, we developed a reusable heterogeneous non-precious iron nanocomposite comprising metallic Fe-Fe3C nanoparticles and Fe-N x sites on N-doped porous carbon, which allows for highly efficient synthesis of quinolines and quinazolinones via oxidative coupling of amines and aldehydes using H2O2 as the oxidant in aqueous solution under mild conditions. A set of quinazolines and quinazolinones were synthesized in high yields with a broad substrate scope and good tolerance of functional groups. Characterization and control experiments disclose that a synergistic effect between the metallic Fe nanoparticles and built-in Fe-N x sites is primarily responsible for the outstanding catalytic performance. Furthermore, the iron nanocomposite could be readily recovered for successive use without appreciable loss in catalytic activity and selectivity. This work provides an expedient and sustainable method to access pharmaceutically relevant N-heterocycles.

Abstract
An easy and efficient approach to the synthesis of N,4-disubstituted quinazoline-2-amine and oxides is described. This transformation proceeds smoothly in the presence of molecular iodine. The metal-free protocol presented here is insensitive to air moisture and operationally simple. This versatile and synthetic methodology is broadly applicable to a variety of N,4-disubstituted quinazoline-2-amines and oxides, which are synthesized in good to excellent yields starting from readily available inexpensive precursors.
