Abstract
A practical and efficient copper-catalyzed carbocyclization of 2-functionalized anilines with ethyl bromodifluoroacetate has been developed. Ethyl bromodifluoroacetate is employed as the C1 source via quadruple cleavage in this transformation. This reaction can afford a variety of N-containing heterocyclics with satisfactory yields and excellent functional group compatibility.

Abstract
A series of six Mn(I) complexes with general formula [MnBr(bisNHC)(CO)3 ], having a bidentate bis(N-heterocyclic carbene) ligand (bisNHC), has been developed by varying the bridging group between the NHC donors, the nitrogen wingtip substituents and the heterocyclic ring. The synthesis of the complexes has been accomplished by in situ transmetalation of the bisNHC from the corresponding silver(I) complexes. Removal of the bromide anion affords the corresponding solvento complexes [Mn(bisNHC)(CO)3 (CH3 CN)](BF4 ). The influence of the bisNHC structure on its electron donor ability has been evaluated by FTIR and 13 C NMR spectroscopy, both in the neutral and cationic complexes. Finally, the isolated Mn(I)-bisNHC complexes have been employed as homogeneous catalysts in the reductive N-formylation and N-methylation of amines with CO2 as C1 source and phenylsilane as reducing agent, showing a high selectivity for the N-methylated product. Preliminary mechanistic investigations suggest that, in the adopted reaction conditions, the formylated product can be formed via different reaction pathways, either metal-catalyzed or not, while the methylation reaction requires the use of the Mn(I) catalyst.

Abstract
The development of sustainable and mild protocols for the fluoroalkylation of organic backbones is of current interest in chemical organic synthesis. Herein, we present operationally simple and practical transition-metal-free methods for the preparation of difluoroalkyl anilines. First, a visible-light organophotocatalytic system working via oxidative quenching is described, providing access to a wide range of difluoroalkyl anilines under mild conditions. In addition, the formation of an unprecedented electron donor-acceptor (EDA) complex between anilines and ethyl difluoroiodoacetate is reported and exploited as an alternative, efficient, and straightforward strategy to prepare difluoroalkyl derivatives.

Abstract
A convenient method to prepare aryl formates is reported herein that exploits difluorocarbene to serve as a CO surrogate. This reaction is proposed to occur through a sequential O-difluoromethylation of phenol, followed by α-C-F bond functionalization of the resulting aryl difluoromethyl ether intermediate by phenol or moisture through fluorosemiacetal or orthoformate intermediates. Late-stage modification of biologically and materially active compounds is demonstrated.

Abstract
As a unique organofluorine fragment, gem-difluoromethylated motifs have received widespread attention. Here, a convenient and efficient synthesis of aryldifluoromethyl aryl ethers (ArCF2OAr') was established via Nickel-catalyzed aryloxydifluoromethylation with arylboronic acids. This approach features easily accessible starting materials, good tolerance of functionalities, and mild reaction conditions. Diverse late-stage difluoromethylation of many pharmaceuticals and natural products were readily realized. Notably, a new difluoromethylated PD-1/PD-L1 immune checkpoint inhibitor was conveniently synthesized and showed both improved metabolic stability and enhanced antitumor efficacy. Preliminary mechanistic studies suggested the involvement of a Ni(I/III) catalytic cycle.

Abstract
An efficient iodine-imine synergistic promoted Povarov-type multicomponent reaction was reported for the synthesis of a practical 2,2'-biquinoline scaffold. The tandem annulation has reconciled iodination, Kornblum oxidation, and Povarov aromatization, where the methyl group of the methyl azaarenes represents uniquely reactive input in the Povarov reaction. This method has broad substrate scope and mild conditions. Furthermore, these 2,2'-biquinoline derivatives had been directly used as bidentate ligands in metal-catalyzed reactions.

Abstract
Sulfonic acid functionalized over biguanidine fabricated silica-coated heterogeneous magnetic nanoparticles (NP@SO3H) have been synthesized, well characterized and explored for the first time, as an efficient and recyclable catalyst for N-formylation of primary amines under mild reaction conditions. Exploiting the magnetic nature of Fe3O4, the prepared catalyst was readily recovered from the reaction mixture via an external magnet. The catalyst can be reused for up to six cycles without any substantial loss of catalytic activity. The cost effectiveness, simple methodology, wide substrate tolerance, excellent yield and easy work-up are the additional advantages of present catalytic system. Abstract
A strategy of aerobic oxidative C(sp3)-C(sp3) bond cleavage of N-ethylaniline derivatives bearing azaarenes for the synthesis of N-aryl formamides has been developed. This approach was carried out smoothly with the CuI/TEMPO/air system to give N-aryl formamides in yields of 50-90%. With this methodology, a mutagenically active compound was constructed in 90% yield. Moreover, the reaction also provided a one-pot synthetic tool for accessing a promoter of hematopoietic stem cells by difunctionalization in 61% yield.
