Abstract
Metal catalyzed C-H functionalization offers a versatile platform for methodology development and a wide variety of reactions now exist for the chemo- and site-selective functionalization of organic molecules. Cyclopentadienyl-metal (CpM) complexes of transition metals and their correlative analogues have found widespread application in this area, and herein we highlight several key applications of commonly used transition-metal Cp-type catalysts. In addition, an understanding of transition metal Cp-type catalyst synthesis is important, particularly where modifications to the catalyst structure are required for different applications, and a summary of this aspect is given.

Abstract
We hereby report Ru(ii)-catalyzed C(sp2)-H allenylation of N-tosylbenzamides to access multi-substituted allenylamides. Furthermore, the allenylamides were converted to the corresponding isoquinolone derivatives via base mediated annulation. The current protocol features low catalyst loading, mild reaction conditions, high functional group compatibility and desired scalability. The unique functionality of the afforded allenes allowed further transformations to expand the practicality of the protocol.

Abstract
In this paper, an efficient synthesis of functionalized 1,3-benzodiazepines through an unprecedented [5 + 2] annulation of N-aryl amidines with propargylic esters is presented. The reactions proceed through Rh(III)-catalyzed C(sp2)-H alkenylation followed by annulation and deacetoxylation along with cascade C-H/N-H/C-O bond cleavage and C-C/C-N bond formation. Furthermore, the cytotoxicity of selected products against several human cancer cell lines was tested, which demonstrated their good potential for pharmaceutical applications.
