Abstract
Organic sulfur compounds encompass a vast and diverse variety of species that possess unique biological activity due to the presence of sulfur atoms or sulfur-containing functional groups. These compounds are widely present in natural products, pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals, and functional materials. In recent years, numerous sulfur-containing compounds such as thiols, thioethers, disulfides, thiourea, dimethyl sulfoxide, sulfonates and their derivatives, as well as sulfur-containing inorganic compounds, have been utilized as coupling agents to synthesize (hetero)aryl sulfides via C-H Functionalization. These novel transformations provide effective methods for constructing C-S bond of (hetero)arenes, while also expanding the scope of (hetero)aryl sulfides with the potential biological activity. Therefore, the synthesis of aryl sulfides through C-H bond functionalization has attracted widespread attention. This review mainly focuses on the construction of (hetero)aryl sulfides via C-H bond functionalization since 2015. We hope this review offers a useful conceptual overview and inspires further advancements in the efficient construction of C-S bonds.

Abstract
A three-component reaction for the synthesis of dihydropyrrolo[3,4-e][1,3]thiazines has been developed. Elemental sulfur, maleimides, and 1,3,5-triazinanes are assembled together through sulfuration/nucleophilic attack in N-methylpyrrolidin-2-one (NMP) under mild conditions. A small amount of NaHCO3 is important for the activation of the reaction. In this method, sulfur plays a dual role in thiazine ring formation, while triazinanes are utilized as three-atom synthons in the annulation reaction.

Abstract
The Dess-Martin periodinane (DMP) reagent-mediated reactions of tertiary enaminones with potassium thiocyanate for the synthesis of thiazole-5-carbaldehydes are developed. The product formation involves cascade hydroxyl thiocyanation of the C═C double bond, intramolecular hydroamination of the C≡N bond, and thiazole annulation by condensation on the ketone carbonyl site, representing novel reaction pathways in the reactions between enaminones and thiocyanate salt. DMP plays dual roles in mediating the free radical thiocyanation and inducing the unconventional selective thiazole-5-carbaldehyde formation by masking the in situ generated formyl group during the reaction process.

Abstract
Elemental sulfur enables the convenient formation of C-S bonds and the direct incoporation of S-S bonds. The reactivity of easily accessible electron deficient alkenes towards sulfur, however, is barely disclosed. Herein, we investigated the reactivity of acrylamides with sulfur and eventually developed a new pseudo-multicomponent reaction for the preparation of polysulfides. Sequential one-pot reduction led to diversely substituted thiols. Additional third stage one-pot modifications provided thioethers, unsymmetric disulfide and thioester.

Abstract
This paper reports an unprecedented trifunctionalization of tertiary enaminones for the synthesis phosphoryl nitriles by the reactions of enaminones with diarylphosphine oxides and trimethylsilyl cyanide (TMSCN) without the use of any metal reagent. Employing tetrabutyl ammonium hydroxide (TBAH) as the catalyst (0.2 equiv) enables discrete cyanophosphonation. On the other hand, selective proximal cyanophosphonation has been realized in the presence of acetic acid only (AcOH).

Abstract
A novel Rh(III)-catalyzed C-H activation/annulation cascade of indole-enaminones with diazo compounds was reported to construct diversely functionalized carbazole frameworks. The most notable characteristic is that this transformation could smoothly furnish a novel [5 + 1] cyclization product with good to excellent yields (up to 95%), accompanied by the thorough removal of acetyl and N,N-dimethyl groups of two substrates from the target products, rather than the normally expected [4 + 2] cyclization products.

Abstract
The paper presents the synthesis of an enaminone resorcin[4]arene via a thermally activated o-quinomethide. The crystal structure indicates that in the solid state all enaminone units participate in a unidirectional seam of 12 intramolecular hydrogen bonds that are formed around the cavity. The molecule exhibits C2 symmetry, with two opposite-laying enaminone units directed inside the cavity (“in”), and the other two units outside the cavity (“out”). In the solution the enaminone resorcin[4]arene exists as a mixture of conformers with distribution controlled by temperature and solvent. The experimental data are compared with the results of theoretical calculations using DFT B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) and fast semi-empirical DFTB/GFN2-xTB method in various solvents.

Abstract
The synthesis of sulfur heterocycles via the construction of C–S bonds has received considerable attention due to their biological value and extensive pharmaceutical application. While diverse sulfurating agents have been developed over the past few decades, in this regard, elemental sulfur, with advantages of low toxicity, odorless nature and chemical stability, has great potential for the construction of diverse sulfur heterocycles through its direct incorporation into the target molecules in a concise way. Direct functionalization of inert C–H bonds can shorten the number of reaction steps and minimize the amount of waste formed. Hence, heteroannulations via direct C–H sulfuration is considered to be an attractive strategy for the synthesis of sulfur heterocycles. In the last few years, a vast array of concise systems have been reported for the synthesis of some valuable sulfur heterocycles such as thiophenes, thienoindoles, thienothiazoles, thiazoles, benzothiazoles, and thiadiazoles through direct C–H sulfuration/annulations with elemental sulfur. These are discussed in detail in this review.1 Introduction2 Thiophenes3 Thienoindoles4 Thienothiazoles5 Other Fused Thiophenes6 Thiazoles7 Benzothiazoles8 Thiadiazoles9 Others10 Summary and Outlook

Abstract
A facile and efficient strategy for the synthesis of 1,4-dihydropyridazines and pyridazines through I2-promoted [4 + 2] cycloaddition of in situ generated azoalkenes with enaminones has been developed. The switch in selectivity is attributed to the judicious choice of different reaction temperatures. The key features of this work include controllable and selective synthesis, good functional group tolerance, good to excellent reaction yields, metal/base-free conditions, and also applicability to one-pot methodology.
