Abstract
AIM New pyrano[3,2-c]pyridine 4a-h, 5-8 and pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidin 9a,b series were designed and chemically synthesized. METHODOLOGY Using the standard drug doxorubicin, the novel chemical entities have been assessed in vitro as potential anticancer prospects on cell lines from liver, breast, colon, and lung cancer along with examining their inhibitory behaviors upon both EGFR and VEGFR-2 kinases. RESULTS & CONCLUSION Compared to erlotinib (IC50 = 0.18 µM), compounds 8a and 8b demonstrated the highest anticancer activity with IC50 Values 0.23 and 0.15 µM, respectively). Further, derivative 8a illustrated encouraging inhibitory characteristics against EGFR and VEGFR-2 (IC50 = 1.21 and 2.65 μM, respectively). A computational study was used to estimate the physicochemical and pharmacokinetic properties to afford insightful information about the newly synthesized agents.

Abstract
We herein present a method for the synthesis of ortho-deuterated aryl nitrile using Mn(CO)5Br as catalyst with CH3OD as deuteratium source, where the structure of aryl imidates is used for interconversion with a cyanide group. This method features a broad substrate range and excellent functional group tolerance, allowing late modification of various complex molecules with good yields and deuterium incorporation. Mechanistic studies suggest that 2-pyridone is crucial to the success of this chemistry, serving as an endogenous base that enhances the rate of hydrogen isotope exchange.

Abstract
An Rh(III)-catalyzed one-pot synthesis of 5H-isochromeno[3,4-c]isoquinolines from readily available 4-diazoisochroman-3-imines and (2-formylphenyl)boronic acids is reported. The cascade annulation involves a Rh(III)-catalyzed cross-coupling and an intramolecular nucleophilic addition-elimination process. A series of biologically important 5H-isochromeno[3,4-c]isoquinolines were obtained in good to excellent yields. The method can be extended to synthesize 7H-isochromeno[3,4-b]thieno[3,2-d]pyridines and 7H-isochromeno[3,4-b]thieno[2,3-d]pyridines from the corresponding heteroaryl boronic acids.

Abstract
An efficient strategy for the preparation of spirocyclic indole-N-oxide compounds through a Rh(III)-catalyzed [4 + 1] spiroannulation reaction of N-aryl nitrones with 2-diazo-1,3-indandiones as C1 synthons under extremely mild conditions is presented. From this reaction, 40 spirocyclic indole-N-oxides were easily obtained in up to 98% yield. In addition, the title compounds could be successfully used for the construction of structurally intriguing maleimide-containing fused polycyclic scaffolds via a diastereoselective 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction with maleimides.

Abstract
1,1,1,3,3,3-Hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP) is a polar, strongly hydrogen bond-donating solvent that has found numerous uses in organic synthesis due to its ability to stabilize ionic species, transfer protons, and engage in a range of other intermolecular interactions. The use of this solvent has exponentially increased in the past decade and has become a solvent of choice in some areas, such as C-H functionalization chemistry. In this review, following a brief history of HFIP in organic synthesis and an overview of its physical properties, literature examples of organic reactions using HFIP as a solvent or an additive are presented, emphasizing the effect of solvent of each reaction.

Abstract
A facile access to highly fused tetracyclic indeno-1,2-benzothiazines has been established via a Rh(III)-catalyzed C-H bond activation and intramolecular annulation cascade between sulfoximides and all-carbon diazo indandiones. This strategy is characterized by the fact that the diazo coupling partners do not require preactivation, along with its high efficiency, broad substrate generality, and facile transformation. Particularly, the highly conjugated tetracyclic products demonstrate good optical properties and can easily enter cells to emit bright fluorescence for live cell imaging.

Abstract
A novel Rh(III)-catalyzed C-H activation/annulation cascade of indole-enaminones with diazo compounds was reported to construct diversely functionalized carbazole frameworks. The most notable characteristic is that this transformation could smoothly furnish a novel [5 + 1] cyclization product with good to excellent yields (up to 95%), accompanied by the thorough removal of acetyl and N,N-dimethyl groups of two substrates from the target products, rather than the normally expected [4 + 2] cyclization products.

Abstract
A mild and facile Cp*Rh(III)-catalyzed C–H activation and intramolecular cascade annulation protocol has been proposed for the furnishing of highly fused isochromeno-1,2-benzothiazines scaffolds using S-phenylsulfoximides and 4-diazoisochroman-3-imine as substrates under room temperature. This method features diverse substituents and functional groups tolerance and relatively mild reaction conditions with moderate to excellent yields. Additionally, retentive configuration of sulfoximides in the conversion has been verified.

Synthesis of 8-Alkoxy-5 H-isochromeno[3,4- c]isoquinolines and 1-Alkoxy-4-arylisoquinolin-3-ols through Rh(III)-Catalyzed C-H Functionalization of Benzimidates with 4-Diazoisochroman-3-imines and 4-Diazoisoquinolin-3-ones. Abstract
Rh(III)-catalyzed C-H activation/annulation of benzimidates with 4-diazoisochroman-3-imines furnished 8-alkoxy-5H-isochromeno[3,4-c]isoquinolines in moderate to excellent yields with a broad range of substrate scope. The reaction was carried out under mild reaction conditions and could be scaled up with practical usage. Similar reaction between benzimidates and 4-diazoisoquinolin-3-ones provided 1-alkoxy-4-arylisoquinolin-3-ols in excellent yields. Moreover, the synthesized products could be conveniently transformed to the corresponding heterocycles with a 1,8-naphthyridinone or isochromenopyridinone core, which are privileged structures in medicinal chemistry.
