Abstract
Polyfluoroarenes have been known for a long time, but they are most often used as fluorinated building blocks for the synthesis of aromatic compounds. At the same time, due to peculiar fluorine effect, they have unique properties that provide applications in various fields ranging from synthesis to materials science. This review summarizes advances in the radical chemistry of polyfluoroarenes, which have become possible mainly with the advent of photocatalysis. Transformations of the fluorinated ring via the C-F bond activation, as well as use of fluoroaryl fragments as activating groups and hydrogen atom transfer agents are discussed. The ability of fluoroarenes to serve as catalysts is also considred.

Abstract
Utilization of oxime ethers as bifunctional reagents remains unknown. Herein, we present a mechanistically distinct strategy that enables oximesulfonylation of olefins using sulfonyl-oxime-ethers as bifunctional reagents under metal-free photochemical conditions. Via concomitant C-S and C-C bond formation, the process permits incorporation of oxime and sulfonyl groups into olefins in a complete atom-economic fashion, providing rapid access to multi-functionalized β-sulfonyl oxime ethers with good yields and stereoselectivity. The method is amenable to functionalization of complex bioactive molecules and is shown to be scalable. A radical chain mechanism initiated via photochemical Hydrogen Atom Transfer (HAT) mediated N-O bond cleavage is suggested for the process, based on our results on mechanistic investigations.

Abstract
Development of a new catalytic and straightforward strategy to construct C-N bonds is playing a pivotal role in synthetic chemistry. Here, we report a photocatalysed protocol to access direct C-H amidation of indoles, enabled by a rationally designed tert-butyl alkyl((perfluoropyridin-4-yl)oxy)carbamate. A series of biologically important aminoindoles were prepared under mild conditions with excellent regioselectivity and broad substrate scope.

Abstract
We have developed a new iron-catalyzed ring opening alkenylation of cycloketoximes with β-nitrostyrenes for the facile synthesis of flexible distal cyanoalkyl alkenes. Both non-active strained cycloketoximes and less-strained cycloketoximes could be coupled with β-nitrostyrenes with excellent regio- and stereoselectivity under base-free redox-neutral conditions. The diboron reagent played an irreplaceable role in this transformation. A reasonable radical-mediated process could be involved in this catalytic cycle.

Abstract
A photoinduced, photocatalyst-free cyanoalkylation of nitrostyenes was explored, affording a series of cyanoalkylated alkenes in moderate to good yields. Mechanistic studies reveal that an electron donor-acceptor complex formed between O-aryl oximes and DIPEA is presumably involved in this process. The excellent functional group compatibility of this newly designed synthetic protocol allows for cyanoalkylation of structurally varied substrates, which offers an eco-friendly pathway for the assembly of cyanoalkylated alkenes.

Abstract
An efficient, transition metal-free visible-light-driven continuous-flow C-3-alkylation of quinoxalin-2(1H)-ones has been demonstrated by employing Katritzky salts as alkylating agents in the presence of eosin-y as a photoredox catalyst and DIPEA as a base at room temperature. The present protocol was accomplished by utilizing abundant and inexpensive alkyl amine (both primary and secondary alkyl) and as well as this a few amino acid feedstocks were converted into their corresponding redox-active pyridinium salts and subsequently into alkyl radicals. A wide variety of C-3-alkylated quinoxalin-2(1H)-ones were synthesized in moderate to high yields. Further this environmentally benign protocol is carried out in a PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy alkane) capillary based micro reactor under blue LED irradiation, enabling excellent yields (72% to 91%) and shorter reaction times (0.81 min) as compared to a batch system (16 h). Abstract
Reported herein is a visible-light-induced, catalyst-free intramolecular cyclization of 4-phenylsulfonyl-2,3,5,6-tetrachloropyridine, leading to rapid assembly of a series of unprecedented benzo[4,5]thieno[3,2-c]pyridine 5,5-dioxide scaffolds under mild conditions. The rational introduction of a perchloropyridin-4-yl module significantly facilitated this photoinduced process and offers a versatile platform for broad structural variation. Mechanistic studies revealed that a newly identified charge-transfer complex with carbonate is crucial to this photoinduced process.

Abstract
For more than 70 years, nitrogen-centered radicals have been recognized as potent synthetic intermediates. This review is a survey designed for use by chemists engaged in target-oriented synthesis. This review summarizes the recent paradigm shift in access to and application of N-centered radicals enabled by visible-light photocatalysis. This shift broadens and streamlines approaches to many small molecules because visible-light photocatalysis conditions are mild. Explicit attention is paid to innovative advances in N-X bonds as radical precursors, where X = Cl, N, S, O, and H. For clarity, key mechanistic data is noted, where available. Synthetic applications and limitations are summarized to illuminate the tremendous utility of photocatalytically generated nitrogen-centered radicals.

Abstract
We have developed an efficient and non-toxic method for the environmental-friendly generation of an iminyl radical from cyclobutanone oxime ester via direct thermolysis in the absence of light, transition metals, "tin", and other activators. This redox-neutral cyanoalkylarylation protocol enjoys a wide substrate scope and a good functional group tolerance, providing facile access to oxindoles and isoquinolinediones with a quaternary carbon center that are difficult to prepare by traditional methods.

Abstract
Aiming at the valuable methylation process, readily available and inexpensive N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine (TMEDA) was first identified as a new methyl source in photoredox-catalyzed transformation in this work. By virtue of this simple methylating reagent, a facile and practical protocol for the direct C-H methylation of N-heteroarenes was developed, featuring mild reaction conditions, broad substrate scope, and scalability. Mechanistic studies disclosed that a sequential photoredox, base-assisted proton shift, fragmentation, and tautomerization process was essentially involved.

Abstract
A visible-light-driven, photocatalyst-free route starting from easily accessed ortho-hydroxycinnamic esters and O-perfluoropyridin-4-yl oximes has been successfully developed to rapidly assemble a wide range of 3-cyanoalkyl coumarins. This process does not require addition of external photocatalysts, exhibiting beneficial features including mild reaction conditions, synthetic simplicity, and excellent substrate compatibility. Extensive mechanistic investigations revealed that the in situ generated phenolate anions served as photosensitizers to drive this photoinduced transformation.

Abstract
Reported herein is the design and synthesis of new O-perhalopyridin-4-yl hydroxylamines as shelf-stable and versatile amidyl-radical precursors. The novel amination reagents can be easily prepared via a single synthetic step from inexpensive commercially available starting materials using monoprotected HONH2 as amino source. The synthetic potency of the developed reagents was well demonstrated by direct amination of a series of quinoxalin-2(1H)-ones and their analogues under photocatalytic conditions, even without any additive and photocatalysts.
