Abstract
The treatment of 2-(ArNC(H))C6H4-HNC9H6N with n-BuLi and the subsequent addition of CuCl2 afforded the anilido-aldimine Cu(II) complexes 1-5 Cu[{2-[ArN=C(H)]C6H4}N(8-C9H6N)]Cl (Ar = 2,6-iPr2C6H3 (1), 2,4,6-(CH3)3C6H2 (2), 4-OCH3C6H4 (3), 4-BrC6H4 (4), 4-ClC6H4 (5)), respectively. All the copper complexes were fully characterized by IR, EPR and HR-MS spectra. The X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that 2 and 4 are mononuclear complexes, and the Cu atom is sitting in a slightly square-planar geometry. These Cu(II) complexes have exhibited excellent catalytic activity in the Chan-Lam coupling reactions of benzimidazole derivatives with arylboronic acids, achieving the highest yields of up to 96%.

Abstract
The sterically bulky compounds N,N'-bismesityl phenanthrene-9,10-diimine [1] and imine-nitrone [2] were synthesized. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of the synthesis of a bulky steric imine-nitrone accessed from the secondary ketimine using urea hydrogen peroxide over methyltrioxorhenium catalyst. Purified compounds were characterized using 1H and 13C NMR, high-resolution mass spectrometry, and infrared spectrometry. We report the first crystal structure of compound 1. Detailed IR bands of compounds 1 and 2 were assigned by comparing experimentally measured spectra to individually animated modes of quantum mechanically computed spectra. We believe these compounds may be of use as bidentate ligands in the synthesis of novel organometallic compounds. The asymmetric N and O coordination sites of compound 2 might impart interesting electronic effects to organometallic compounds compared to the symmetric N,N'-coordination sites of compound 1.

Abstract
Chromium-based complexes are among the most important catalysts in the field of ethylene polymerization and oligomerization. Heterogeneous Cr Phillips catalysts account for more than one-third of the commercialized high density polyethylene (HDPE). In this contribution, chromium complexes, LCrCl3 (Cr1-Cr4: L = 2,6-R1-4-R2-C6H2-N[double bond, length as m-dash]CH-C6H4-2-PPh2; Cr1: R1 = H, R2 = H; Cr2: R1 = Me, R2 = H; Cr3: R1 = iPr, R2 = H; Cr4: R1 = Ph2CH, R2 = iPr), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, ESI and IR spectroscopy. The molecular structures of Cr3 and Cr4 are defined by X-ray diffraction, revealing a distorted octahedral geometry around the chromium center in both structures. In the presence of an aluminum cocatalyst, complexes Cr1-Cr4 show moderate to high activities toward ethylene polymerization. The nature of the catalysts and various reaction conditions, such as the nature and the amount of cocatalyst, reaction time and temperature, are investigated in detail. The results show that the title complexes have good thermal stability and the substituents on the ligands significantly affect the catalytic properties. Particularly, complex Cr4 can produce HDPE with a high molecular weight up to 68.3 × 104 g mol-1 due to the suppression of the chain transfer/termination by the introduction of bulky Ph2CH groups.

Abstract
Known stable [Cr(bpy)2(Ph)2](BPh4) complexes undergo reductive elimination of biphenyl with visible-light photolysis using household incandescent or compact fluorescent light bulbs. A series of [Cr(R-bpy)2(Ar)2](X) complexes (R = H or CMe3; Ar = Ph, C6H4-CMe3, or C6H4-OMe; X = I, BPh4, or PF6) were prepared, and the effect of varying the bipyridine and aryl ligands on the UV-visible spectra and electrochemistry of the chromium(III) complexes was investigated. Photolysis of a mixture of two different bis(aryl) complexes gave only the homocoupled biaryl products by 1H NMR and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry analysis. The initial product of photoinduced reductive elimination of [Cr(bpy)2(Ar)2](PF6) was trapped with bipyridine to generate [Cr(bpy)3](PF6) and with benzoyl peroxide to form [Cr(bpy)2(O2CPh)2](PF6). The latter chromium(III) bis(benzoate) complex was also synthesized by the addition of bipyridine and PhCO2H to Cp2Cr, followed by air oxidation. The neutral Cr(bpy)(S2CNMe2)Ph2 complex also generated biphenyl upon visible-light photolysis. While the treatment of Cr(tBu-bpy)(dpm)Cl2 [dpm = (OCtBu)2CH] with AgO2CPh gave trans-Cr(tBu-bpy)(dpm)(O2CPh)2, reaction of the dichloro precursor with PhMgCl produced anionic [Cr(tBu-bpy)Ph3]- with [Mg(dpm)(THF)4]+ as the countercation, with both complexes characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Protonolysis of Cr(bpy)Ph3(THF) with 8-hydroxyquinoline produced Cr(bpy)(quin)Ph2, which generated biphenyl under visible-light photolysis, and the initial product of reductive elimination was trapped by bipyridine or benzoyl peroxide. A related Cr(bpy)(quin)2 complex was synthesized by protonolysis of Cr(bpy)[N(SiMe3)2]2 and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.

Chromium complexes bearing amidinato-phosphino ligand: synthesis, characterization, and catalytic properties of ethylene tri-/tetramerization and polymerization. Dalton Trans 2016; 45:17020-17029. Abstract
An amidinato-phosphino ligand ArN[double bond, length as m-dash]C(R)NH(o-Ph2PC6H4) (Ar = 2,4,6-Me3C6H2, R = Ph (1); Ar = 2,6-iPr2C6H3, R = Ph (2); Ar = 2,6-iPr2C6H3, R = tBu (3)) was prepared. The ligand reacted with CrCl3(THF)3 to yield the N,P-chelation complex [ArNHC(R)[double bond, length as m-dash]N(o-Ph2PC6H4)]CrCl3(THF) (4-6), and the ligand's lithium salt ArN[double bond, length as m-dash]C(R)N(o-Ph2PC6H4)Li reacted with the respective CrCl3(THF)3 and CrCl2(THF)2 to give the N,N,P-chelation complexes [ArN[double bond, length as m-dash]C(R)N(o-Ph2PC6H4)]CrCl2(THF) (7-8) and {[ArN[double bond, length as m-dash]C(R)N(o-Ph2PC6H4)]Cr(μ-Cl)}2 (9-11). Complexes 1-11 were characterized by IR, NMR (for 1-3), EPR (for 4-11) spectroscopy and CHN elemental analysis, of which 3, 5, 8, and 11 were further studied by X-ray crystallography. Upon activation with an organoaluminum cocatalyst, complexes 4-6 were all catalytically active in ethylene tri-/tetramerization along with ethylene polymerization, and complexes 7-11 functioned as well but in ethylene polymerization. The correlation between the structure and the catalytic properties of the catalyst system is discussed.

Abstract
Chromium complexes bearing pyrrolide–imino-amine/ether tridentate ligands have been synthesized and their catalytic behavior in ethylene oligomerization has been investigated. Drastic changes in selectivity have been observed upon slight variation of the MAO-to-Cr ratio.
