Abstract
The products containing pyrimidine scaffolds exhibit various important physiological and biological activities. To date, the strategies to generate 4,5,6-trisubstituted pyrimidines were not reported. Here, a copper-catalyzed reaction of 2H-azirines with α-isocyanoacetates or α-isocyanoacetamides has been developed, rapidly preparing 4,5,6-trisubstituted pyrimidines. The mechanistic results reveal that this strategy underwent a formal 1, 3-dipolar [3 + 2] cycloaddition/ring-expanding/oxidative aromatization procedure to construct the desired pyrimidines.

Abstract
We developed an efficient and straightforward I2-catalyzed strategy for the synthesis of functionalized α-amidohydroxyketones and symmetrical and unsymmetrical bisamides using incipient benzimidate scaffolds as starting materials and moist-DMSO as a reagent and solvent. The developed method proceeds through chemoselective intermolecular N-C-bond formation of benzimidates and the α-C(sp3)-H bond of acetophenone moieties. The key advantages of these design approaches include broad substrate scope and moderate yields. High-resolution mass spectrometry of the reaction progress and labeling experiments provided suitable evidence regarding the possible mechanism. 1H nuclear magnetic resonance titration revealed notable interaction between the synthesized α-amidohydroxyketones and some anions as well as biologically important molecules, which revealed a promising recognition property of these valuable motifs.

Abstract
α-Amino ketones are useful compounds because of their synthetic utility and bioactivities. After observing the ability of N,N'-dipyridin-2-yl aminals to form imines in situ, the synthesis of α-amino ketones using N,N'-dipyridin-2-yl aminals was proposed. Through the NHC-catalyzed aza-benzoin reaction between aromatic/aliphatic aldehydes and N,N'-dipyridin-2-yl aminals, α-amino ketones, including aromatic, heterocyclic, and aliphatic versions, were synthesized with yields up to 99%. A direct route toward N-Boc-protected α-amino ketones from N,N,N'-tris-Boc aminals was also discovered, yielding the desired N-Boc-protected α-amino ketones in yields up to 73%.

Abstract
We have observed that a reagent combination of NaIO4 and NH2OH·HCl reacts with α,β-unsaturated ketones followed by the nucleophile ethylene glycol allowing the synthesis of 2,3-disubstituted 1,4-dioxanes using cesium carbonate as a base under Williamson ether synthesis. This reaction is useful for the synthesis of functionalized 1,4-dioxane having a carbonyl functionality. A variety of 2,3-disubstituted 1,4-dioxanes have been synthesized using these reaction conditions. A probable reaction mechanism has also been proposed.

Abstract
An efficient synthesis of α-amidoketone derivatives through the cascade reactions of carboxylic acids with vinyl azides is presented. Compared with literature protocols, notable features of this new method include catalyst-free conditions, broad substrate scope, good tolerance of a wide range of functional groups, and high efficiency. In addition, the synthetic potential of this method as a tool for late-stage modification was convincingly manifested by its application in the structural elaborations of a number of carboxylic acid drug molecules.

Abstract
One bonded- and one discreted-Lindqvist hexatungstate-based copper hybrids (Cu-POMs) ([Cu2(O)OH(phen)2]2[W6O19]·6H2O (1) and [Cu2(phen)4Cl] [HW6O19]·2H2O (2) (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline)) were controllably synthesized and routinely characterized. Cu-POMs 1-2 consisted of identical [W6O19] unit and similar copper-phen complexes, the two units are bonded via four Cu-O chemical bonds in compound 1; however, compound 2 is discreted and stabilized by intermolecular electrostatic interactions. Importantly, these Cu-POMs catalysts were first applied in the novel reaction for the preparation of 2-phenylquinoxalines via the one-pot coupling and oxidation reactions of 2-haloanilines with vinyl azides or 3-phenyl-2H-azirines under mild conditions, and Cu-POMs 1 showed higher catalytic performance in good yields (79-84%). The reactions exhibit some functional group tolerance and allow for the preparation of a number of 2-phenylquinoxalines.
