Abstract
An electrooxidation direct difunctionalization of alkynes with sulfonyl hydrazides has been developed for the construction of sulfonyl alkenyl sulfates in the absence of metal catalysts and a stoichiometric amount of oxidants. Notably, it is the first example to verify that SO42- ions can act as a nucleophilic reagent for the preparation of organosulfates.

Abstract
An efficient and practical SO2 insertion protocol of NH-sulfoximines with aryldiazonium tetrafluoroborates and DABSO toward N-sulfonyl sulfoximines has been developed under mildly basic conditions. This transformation features easy operation, readily available substrates, and mild conditions. A tentative mechanism is proposed, which indicates that the aryldiazonium tetrafluoroborates would be radical donors under standard reaction conditions. The aryl radical produced in situ from diazonium salts would be trapped by SO2 to generate an arylsulfonyl radical and then undergo further transformation to generate the final N-sulfonyl sulfoximines.

Abstract
Alkenes and their derivatives are featured widely in a variety of natural products, pharmaceuticals, and advanced materials. Significant efforts have been made toward the development of new and practical methods to access this important class of compounds by selectively activating the alkenyl C(sp2)-H bonds in recent years. In this comprehensive review, we describe the state-of-the-art strategies for the direct functionalization of alkenyl sp2 C-H and C-F bonds until June 2022. Moreover, metal-free, photoredox, and electrochemical strategies are also covered. For clarity, this review has been divided into two parts; the first part focuses on currently available alkenyl sp2 C-H functionalization methods using different alkene derivatives as the starting materials, and the second part describes the alkenyl sp2 C-F bond functionalization using easily accessible gem-difluoroalkenes as the starting material. This review includes the scope, limitations, mechanistic studies, stereoselective control (using directing groups as well as metal-migration strategies), and their applications to complex molecule synthesis where appropriate. Overall, this comprehensive review aims to document the considerable advancements, current status, and emerging work by critically summarizing the contributions of researchers working in this fascinating area and is expected to stimulate novel, innovative, and broadly applicable strategies for alkenyl sp2 C-H and C-F bond functionalizations in the coming years.

Abstract
A combination of aryldiazonium salts and DABSO provides a unique opportunity for sulfonylative multicomponent cross-coupling reactions. Here, a copper-catalyzed three-component cross-coupling of aryldiazonium salts, DABSO with arylboronic acids to obtain medicinally relevant unsymmetrical diarylsulfones is disclosed. Interestingly, a catalyst-free approach for the synthesis of arylvinylsulfones from the corresponding vinyl boronic acid or vinyl halides is explored under basic condition. Tethered aryldiazonium salts provided the corresponding annulated alkylvinylsulfones via alkene difunctionalization under the same transition metal-free condition. Mechanistically, these multicomponent reactions proceed through a single electron pathway by the formation of arylsulfonyl radical as a key intermediate.

Abstract
The free radical cyclization reaction is a promising strategy for ring framework formation. Herein, we report a copper-catalyzed tandem radical cyclization strategy for preparing substituted lactam derivatives. This reaction proceeds through a radical coupling approach, which not only allows a wide range of alkenes but also is quite compatible with the primary, secondary, and tertiary radicals. In addition, density functional theory calculations were performed to gain insights into the reaction mechanism.

Abstract
Direct installation of the sulfinate group by the functionalization of unreactive aliphatic C-H bonds can provide access to most classes of organosulfur compounds, because of the central position of sulfinates as sulfonyl group linchpins. Despite the importance of the sulfonyl group in synthesis, medicine, and materials science, a direct C(sp3)-H sulfination reaction that can convert abundant aliphatic C-H bonds to sulfinates has remained elusive, due to the reactivity of sulfinates that are incompatible with typical oxidation-driven C-H functionalization approaches. We report herein a photoinduced C(sp3)-H sulfination reaction that is mediated by sodium metabisulfite and enables access to a variety of sulfinates. The reaction proceeds with high chemoselectivity and moderate to good regioselectivity, affording only monosulfination products and can be used for a solvent-controlled regiodivergent distal C(sp3)-H functionalization.

Abstract
A convenient and efficient approach to (E)-alkylsulfonyl olefins via a metal/light-free three-component reaction of alkenylboronic acids, sodium metabisulfite and Katritzky salts is described. This alkylsulfonylation proceeds smoothly with a broad substrate scope, leading to diverse (E)-alkylsulfonyl olefins in moderate to good yields. During the process, excellent functional group tolerance is observed and sodium metabisulfite is used as the source of sulfur dioxide. Mechanistic studies show that the alkyl radical generated in situ from Katritzky salt via a single electron transfer with alkenylboronic acid or DIPEA is the key step for providing an alkyl radical intermediate, which undergoes further alkylsulfonylation with sulfur dioxide.

Abstract
Sulfonyl compounds have attracted considerable interest due to their extensive applications in drug discovery, agricultural, and material science. The access to the assembly of SO2 -containing compounds via the same oxidative-state introduction of hypervalent sulfur has come to the fore in the recent years. Especially, the transition-metal-involved synthesis of hypervalent sulfur compounds is the most effective strategy since SO2 is easy to insert into the metal-carbon bonds. This review discusses the application of the same oxidation-state introduction of hypervalent sulfur strategy under the transition-metal-catalyzed conditions, and presents according to different metal catalysts and the synthesized diversity hypervalent sulfur-containing compounds skeletons, including sulfonamides, sulfones, sulfinamides, sulfonyl acids and sulfonyl fluorides.

Abstract
An iron(ii)-catalyzed three-component reaction of O-acyl oximes, sulfur dioxide, and N-vinylacetamides is accomplished. Diverse (E)-β-sulfonyl enamines are obtained in moderate to good yields by using this protocol with excellent stereoselectivity and regioselectivity.

Abstract
An attractive and cheap alternative approach was developed for the β-C(sp2)–H (fluoro)alkylation of a range of cyclic and acyclic non-aromatic enamides using either FeCl2 as a catalyst or a stoichiometric amount of nontoxic iron powder.

Abstract
A simple and effective method for the synthesis of fully substituted 4-benzenesulfonyl isoxazoles through a copper(II)-catalyzed three-component reaction of 2-nitro-1,3-enynes, amines, and sodium benzenesulfinate is described. The reaction proceeds smoothly under mild conditions and provides the benzenesulfonyl isoxazoles with high chemoselectivity.

Abstract
A copper-catalyzed three-component reaction of acrylamides, sulfur dioxide and phenyliodine(iii) dicarboxylates is developed. The conversion using phenyliodine dicarboxylates as alkyl radical precursors provides diverse (Z)-β-alkenyl alkylsulfones.
