Abstract
The design and development of new types of catalysts is one of the most important topics for modern chemistry. Herein, a polymer-supported iridium complex Cp*Ir@Poly(2,2'-BiBzIm) was designed and synthesized by the coordinative immobilization of [Cp*IrCl2]2 on 2,2'-bibenzimidazoles. In the presence of the catalyst (0.5 mol % Ir) and Cs2CO3 (0.3 equiv), a variety of N-methylated amines were obtained in high yields with complete selectivity. More importantly, the catalyst could be recycled without an obvious loss of activity for six cycles. Apparently, the designed catalyst combines the advantages of both homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis.

Abstract
The treatment of many bacterial diseases remains a significant problem due to the increasing antibiotic resistance of their infectious agents. Among others, this is related to Staphylococcus aureus, especially methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. In the present article, we report on antibacterial compounds with activity against both S. aureus and MRSA. A straightforward approach to 2-(1H-indol-3-yl)quinazolin-4(3H)-one and their analogues was developed. Their structural and functional relationships were also considered. The antimicrobial activity of the synthesized compounds against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv, S. aureus ATCC 25923, MRSA ATCC 43300, Candida albicans ATCC 10231, and their role in the inhibition of the biofilm formation of S. aureus were reported. 2-(5-Iodo-1H-indol-3-yl)quinazolin-4(3H)-one (3k) showed a low minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 0.98 μg/mL against MRSA. The synthesized compounds were assessed via molecular docking for their ability to bind long RSH (RelA/SpoT homolog) proteins using mycobacterial and streptococcal (p)ppGpp synthetase structures as models. The cytotoxic activity of some synthesized compounds was studied. Compounds 3c, f, g, k, r, and 3z displayed significant antiproliferative activities against all the cancer cell lines tested. Indolylquinazolinones 3b, 3e, and 3g showed a preferential suppression of the growth of rapidly dividing A549 cells compared to slower growing fibroblasts of non-tumor etiology.

Abstract
Carbazole derivatives, carbazole-containing polymers and iridium complexes are of interest due to many possible applications in photonics, electronics and biology, particularly as active or hole-transporting layers in organic as well as perovskite devices due to their interesting properties. Here, a series of carbazole-fluorene conjugated copolymers with various substituents at the N-carbazole position (2-methoxycarbonylethyl, 2-carboxyethyl, 2-ethylhexyl, and nonan-2,4-dionatoiridium(III)bis(2-phenylpyridine-N,C2')-9-yl) was prepared by Suzuki coupling. Their photophysical, electrochemical and electroluminescence (EL) properties were studied. Effects of molecular weight and substituents attached to carbazole unit on their properties are reported. The carbazole-fluorene copolymers in dilute solutions exhibited intense photoluminescence (PL) emission in the blue spectral region with high PL quantum yields (78-87%) except for the copolymer with the iridium complex (23%). Similar PL spectra were observed in dilute solutions. More pronounced differences were found in thin film PL and EL properties due to excimer/aggregate formation. Light-emitting devices (LEDs) made of copolymers with 2-ethylhexyl as N-carbazole substituent exhibited efficient EL emission with the best performance and the lowest EL onset voltages (3-4 V), while the LEDs made of copolymers with other substituents were not as efficient, but showed anomalous behavior and memory effects in current-voltage characteristics promising also for bio-inspired electronics.

Abstract
The development of efficient and recyclable heterogeneous catalysts is an important topic. Herein, a rhodium(III) complex Cp*Rh@HATN-CTF was synthesized by the coordinative immobilization of [Cp*RhCl2]2 on a hexaazatrinaphthalene-based covalent triazine framework. In the presence of Cp*Rh@HATN-CTF (1 mo l% Rh), a series of primary amines could be obtained via the reductive amination of ketones in high yields. Moreover, catalytic activity of Cp*Rh@HATN-CTF is well maintained during six runs. The present catalytic system was also applied for the large scale preparation of a biologically active compound. It would facilitate the development of CTF-supported transition metal catalysts for sustainable chemistry.

Abstract
Two dimeric {ε-Zn4PMo12}-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), [ε-PMo8VMo4VIO34(OH)6Zn4][LO] (SDUT-21, LO = [5-((4'-carboxybenzyl)oxy)isophthalic acid]) and [TBA]3[ε-PMo8VMo4VIO37(OH)3Zn4][LN] (SDUT-22, TBA+ = tetrabutylammonium ion, LN = [5-((4-carboxybenzyl)imino)isophthalic acid]), combining the advantages of polyoxometalates (POMs) and MOFs, were synthesized by the one-pot assembly strategy. The dimeric {ε-Zn4PMo12} units act as nodes that are linked by the flexible ligands and extended into two- or three-dimensional frameworks. The cyclic voltammetry and proton conductivity measurements of SDUT-21 and SDUT-22 were performed and indicated the high electron and proton transfer abilities. These materials also e xhibited the catalytic performance for the synthesis of quinazolinones in the heterogeneous state, and the different binding capacities toward the substrates caused the catalytic activity of SDUT-21 to be higher than that of SDUT-22 under the same conditions. In addition, the used catalysts could be readily recovered for five successive cycles and maintained high catalytic efficiency.

Abstract
Quinazolinone, a bicyclic compound, comprises a pyrimidine ring fused at 4´ and 8´ positions with a benzene ring and constitutes a substantial class of nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds on account of their frequent existence in the key fragments of many natural alkaloids and pharmaceutically active components. Consequently, tremendous efforts have been subjected to the elegant construction of these compounds and have recently received immense interest in synthetic and medicinal chemistry. The domain of synthetic organic chemistry has grown significantly over the past few decades for the construction of highly functionalized therapeutically potential complex molecular structures with the aid of small organic molecules by replacing transition-metal catalysis. The rapid access to this heterocycle by means of organocatalytic strategy has provided new alternatives from the viewpoint of synthetic and green chemistry. In this review article, we have demonstrated a clear presentation of the recent organocatalytic synthesis of quinazolinones of potential therapeutic interests and covered the literature from 2015 to date. In addition to these, a clear presentation and understanding of the mechanistic aspects, features, and limitations of the developed reaction methodologies have been highlighted.

Abstract
A novel, efficient, and atom-economical approach for the construction of quinazolinones from 2-nitrobenzaldehydes has been unveiled via copper-catalyzed nitrile formation, hydrolysis, and reduction in one pot for the first time. In this reaction, urea is used as a source of nitrogen for nitrile formation, hydrazine hydrate is used for both the reduction of the nitro group and the hydrolysis of nitrile, and atmospheric oxygen is used as the sole oxidant. The method portrays a wide substrate scope with good functional group tolerances. Moreover, this method was applied for the synthesis of schizocommunin, tryptanthrin, phaitanthrin-A, phaitanthrin-B, and 8H-quinazolino[4,3-b]quinazolin-8-one.
