Abstract
A gold-catalyzed oxidative cyclization/nucleophilic addition/C-C bond cleavage reaction of ynones with various nucleophiles has been developed. This methodology allows for the formation of highly functionalized linear N-Ts amides with broad substrate scope, high efficiency, and general tolerance of functional groups. A wide range of nucleophiles such as alcohols, water, and amines including aryl and alkyl amines are compatible with the current method. The C-C triple bond cleavage of the ynone substrate was observed during the process.

Abstract
An efficient and chemoselective transformation of β-amido ynones to 3-acyl-substituted quinolones 2 and 3-H-quinolones 4 has been developed. In this reaction, β-cyclic amido ynones can be selectively transformed into quinolones 2 in anhydrous EG via a selective C═O bond cleavage, 1,5-O migration, and C═C bond recombination process. The practical approach of this reaction renders it a viable alternative for the construction of various quinolones.

Abstract
A facile and highly efficient method for the preparation of 2-(3-oxoindolin-2-ylidene)acetonitriles from 4-(2-aminophenyl)-4-oxo-2-phenylbutanenitriles is described. The featured transformation operates via nucleophilic intramolecular cyclization and involves oxidation of the aniline moiety. Overall, this modification allowed for the improvement of yields and expansion of the reaction scope.

Abstract
The mechanisms and origin of the chemoselectivity of Cu(i)- and Au(i)-catalyzed oxidation of diynes for the divergent syntheses of two different N-heterocycles, substituted pyrroles and dihydroindeno[1,2-c]pyrrol-3(2H)-ones, were elucidated using density functional theory.
