Abstract
A tandem reaction for the synthesis of phenanthrenes from arynes and α-(bromomethyl)styrenes is reported. The transformation proceeds via an ene reaction of α-(bromomethyl)styrenes with arynes, followed by a [4 + 2] cycloaddition reaction. The reaction generates 9-benzylphenanthrene derivatives in moderate to excellent yields.

Abstract
A facile synthesis of α-carbonyl sulfones has been accomplished by the cross-coupling of α-aryl-α-diazoesters with sulfonyl hydrazides in the presence of CuI and DBU. The reaction employs inexpensive and bench stable sulfonyl hydrazides as a sulfonyl source, and facilitates the migratory insertion with α-aryl-α-diazoesters under mild reaction conditions.

Abstract
A Rh(III)-catalyzed tandem reaction for the synthesis of (quinazolin-2-yl)methanone derivatives has been explored from 2,1-benzisoxazoles and α-azido ketones. The transformation involves Rh(III)-catalyzed denitrogenation of α-azido ketones, aza-[4 + 2] cycloaddition, ring opening, and dehydration aromatization processes. Notably, the aza-[4 + 2] cycloaddition of an imine rhodium complex intermediate with 2,1-benzisoxazoles is the key to this reaction.

Abstract
Crinnolines can serve as unique and versatile class of heterocycles especially in fields related
to synthetic and pharmaceutical chemistry owing to their potent biological activities. They possess diversity
of pharmaceutical activities as anticancer, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic as well
as anti-hypertensive activities. Since the first synthesis of cinnoline by Richter (1883) numerous protocols
for their synthesis have been developed utilizing arenediazonium salts, aryl hydrazines and arylhydhydrazones
precursors. Recently metal catalyzed C-C and C-N bond formation reactions have
emerged as efficient tools for synthesis of cinnoline derivatives. This review aims to focus on the recent
synthetic routes used for the synthesis of cinnoline derivatives. An effort has been carried out to provide
an overview of practical methods for preparing cinnolines. Furthermore the reaction mechanisms have
been described in brief.

Tuning the Stability and the Reactivity of Substituted [3]Dendralenes for Quick Access to Diverse Copiously Functionalized Fused Polycycles with Step and Atom Economy. J Org Chem 2017; 82:3648-3658. Abstract
This is the first comprehensive study that details the synthesis of stable acyclic trisubstituted [3]dendralenes and deciphers their structural requisite for a successful diene transmissive Diels-Alder (DTDA) reaction by employing two different dienophiles and eventually generating a small repository of complex molecules, thus exemplifying how substituted [3]dendralenes could be deployed in diversity-oriented synthesis with high selectivities. A balance of reactivity and stability was struck by prudent selection of the position and nature of functional groups on these [3]dendralenes. Upon tandem Diels-Alder reactions with several symmetrical as well as unsymmetrical dienophiles, these dendralenes afforded diversity-oriented quick access to many polycyclic complex motifs possessing several functional groups and multiple stereogenic centers. Thus, the full potential of the dendralenes could be harnessed. The reactions proceeded under mild conditions with step and atom economy and were highly regio- and stereoselective besides being excellent yielding. The DTDA sequence resulted in the generation of four new carbon-carbon bonds, two new rings, and 3-7 stereogenic centers. The key feature of the method is that we could rapidly generate complexity along with functional and structural diversity from a trivial acyclic substrate with no stereogenic centers.

Abstract
An efficient one-pot synthesis of novel pyrido[2′,1′:2,3]imidazo[4,5-c]cinnoline derivatives has been achieved with moderate to good yields, with two C–N bond formations through C–H functionalization of 2-arylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridines.
