Abstract
A stereocontrolled protocol was developed to construct less accessible fluorine-containing acyclic tetrasubstituted stereocenters bearing two sterically and electronically similar alkyl groups at the α-position of carbonyls. In this process, tBuOK-promoted stereospecific α-deprotonation of α,α-disubstituted N-tert-butanesulfinyl ketimines or NH deprotonation of β,β-disubstituted enesulfinamides generates geometry-defined multisubstituted metalloenamines, followed by stereoselective electrophilic fluorination with the N-fluoro ammonium salt of quinine, affording the acyclic α-fluorinated ketimines with excellent diastereoselectivities.

Abstract
The hydrofluorination of alkynes is an efficient synthetic route to monofluoroalkenes or difluoroalkanes. Both fluorinated motifs have found applications in medicinal chemistry and beyond. This review explores the recent advances in the hydrofluorination of diverse alkynes through various activation methods, from classical coinage metal catalysis to metal-free conditions. The range of alkynes goes from the simplest unactivated alkynes to activated ones (ynones and derivatives, ynamides, alkynyl sulfides and sulfones as much as haloalkynes). Regio- and stereoselective methods exists, but there is still room for improvement depending on the type of alkyne.

Abstract
Gold-catalyzed regioselective hydrofluorination of alkynes using aqueous HF has been achieved by employing an amide directing group. For both aryl- and alkyl-substituted propargylamines, the fluorination occurred at the site distal to the amino group.

Abstract
A photocatalytic three-component reaction of α-trifluoromethyl alkenes, electron-rich alkenes, and sodium sulfinates for the synthesis of gem-difluoroalkenes in a radical/polar crossover manner was developed. Due to the strong electron-withdrawing nature of the sulfonyl group, the resultant gem-difluoroalkenes can be converted into various monofluorocyclopentenes via intramolecular base-mediated SNV reactions in one pot.

Abstract
Described herein is a Rh-catalyzed tunable defluorinative borylation of allylic gem-difluorides to provide allylborylated monofluoroalkenes or homoallylborylated monofluoroalkenes with excellent Z/E selectivities. Completely different reaction paths were observed by slightly changing the reaction conditions. Allylborylated monofluoroalkenes were further converted into dihydroxyl-containing monofluoroalkenes.

Abstract
Monofluoroalkenes are fluorinated motifs that can be used to replace amide bonds. In order to be incorporated into peptides, it is normally necessary to first synthesize a dipeptide where the amide bond has been replaced with a monofluoroalkene. In that context, this review will present the racemic and enantioselective synthesis of monofluoroalkene-based dipeptide isosteres described since 2007. Some applications of those compounds will also be presented.
