Abstract
The cyanation reaction of methylheteroarenes with acetyl chloride and sodium nitrite via the radical process in high yields is reported. According to the control experiments, the reaction mechanism underwent radical progress. It is very useful in the pharmacy industry due to its metal-free and easy treatment conditions.

Abstract
Aims:
A green route for the oxidation of alcohols to corresponding carbonyl compounds in room temperature ionic liquid ([CEMIM]BH4) was developed by using hydrogen peroxide as the oxygen source. In aqueous solution at room temperature, 0.2 mol% of ([CEMIM]BH4) showed excellent catalytic properties for selective oxidation of aromatic and aliphatic alcohols
Background:
One of the vital reactions in organic synthesis is the oxidation of alcohols to carbonyl compounds. In particular, the conversion of primary alcohols to aldehydes has received a variety of applications as they are used as intermediates in fine chemicals mostly for the perfume industry.
Objective:
In the present work, we have reported an effective green route for the selective oxidation of alcohols to the carbonyl compounds using peroxide in an ionic liquid 1-carboxyethyl-3-methyl-imidazolium tetrahydroborate ([CEMIM]BH4)
Methods::
A mixture of alcohol (2 mmol), ([CEMIM]BH4) (0.2 mol%), H2O2 (2 mmol) were stirred thoroughly with the help of a magnetic stirrer for 10 min at ambient temperature
Results:
The catalytic activity of ([CEMIM]BH4) is very effective, which reflects its good solvating nature during the oxidation.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, the series of experiments described represents a useful method for the oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols to carbonyl compounds at room temperature. The catalyst can be easily prepared and is therefore extremely cost-effective. The rapid reaction times for the substrates mean a large number of materials may be screened in parallel over a short period of time.

Abstract
N-monosubstituted β-aminoacrylates are building blocks, which have been used in the preparation of amino acids and pharmaceuticals. Two efficient, stereoselective methods of preparation, via acid- or base-promoted condensation reactions of carbamates, are described. The base-promoted reaction is E-selective, while acid catalysis can, through the choice of solvent, selectively form E or Z. The acid-catalyzed E-selective process proceeds through a crystallization obviating the need for chromatographic purification.

Abstract
Diastereoselective alkylation of prochiral oxonitrile dianions with secondary alkyl halides efficiently installs two contiguous stereogenic centers. The confluence of nucleophilic trajectory and the electrophile chirality causes distinct steric differences that allow efficient discrimination for one of the six possible conformers. Numerous oxonitrile-derived dianions efficiently displace secondary alkyl halides propagating the electrophile chirality to efficiently install two contiguous tertiary centers. The prevalence of chiral, secondary electrophiles makes the interdigitated alkylation of chiral electrophiles a particularly attractive route because the resulting oxonitriles are readily transformed into bioactive heterocycles.

Abstract
An efficient strategy toward 4-arylquinolines and 4-arylpyrimidines from readily available precursors is described. Oxidative annulation promoted by K2S2O8 involving anilines, aryl ketones, and DMSO as a methine (═CH-) equivalent leads to 4-arylquinolines via a cascade that entails generation of a sulfenium ion, subsequent C-N and C-C bond formations, and cyclization. The application of this strategy to the activation of acetophenone-formamide conjugates toward the synthesis of 4-arylpyrimidines is also described.
