Abstract
Ring opening reactions of meso-aziridines generate chiral amine derivatives where the control of stereochemistry is possible through enantioselective catalysis. We report the use of a diphosphine-palladium(II) catalyst for the highly enantioselective desymmetrization of N-acylaziridines with indoles. The β-tryptamine products are isolated in moderate to high yield across a range of indole and aziridine substitution patterns. The synthetic utility of β-tryptamine products is demonstrated by conversion to the brominated pyrroloindoline derivative.

Abstract
Lewis acid-mediated regio- and stereoselective nucleophilic addition of 2- or 3-substituted indoles to non-activated aziridine-2-carboxaldehydes in dioxane afforded 2-(indol-3-ylhydroxymethyl)aziridines whose ring opening with various nucleophiles rendered multi-substituted tryptamine derivatives. The reaction of the same aziridine-2-carboxaldehyde with three moles of indole in dichloromethane yielded tris-indole adducts β-(3,3'-bisindolyl)methyl (BIM) tryptamines from sequential steps including nucleophilic addition to aldehyde, Michael type Friedel-Crafts alkylation of the mono-adduct followed by regio- and stereoselective ring-opening of the aziridine ring.

Abstract
A novel synthetic approach for the construction of 1,2,3,3a,4,5-hexahydroimidazo[1,2-a]quinolines in good yields (up to 75%) with excellent stereoselectivity (dr up to 94:6, ee up to >99%) under one-pot domino ring-opening cyclization (DROC) conditions has been developed. The DROC protocol proceeds through a Lewis acid catalyzed SN2-type ring-opening of activated aziridines with N-propargylanilines followed by intramolecular cyclization comprising concomitant hydroarylation and hydroamination steps in a domino fashion.

Abstract
A practical synthesis of chiral tryptamines from simple, unprotected indoles has been developed. Indole nucleophiles prepared with MeMgCl in the presence of CuCl reacted with chiral cyclic sulfamidates almost exclusively at the C3-position of indole to form a variety of α- and/or β-substituted chiral tryptamines in good yield with excellent regioselectivity. The utility of this simple alkylation process has been demonstrated with the practical synthesis of two biologically active targets, cipargamin and TIK-301, which were completed in three steps, starting from the corresponding indole starting materials.

Abstract
A practical catalytic method to synthesize β,β- and γ,γ-substituted amines by opening aziridines and azetidines, respectively, using alkenyl, alkynyl, or aryl/heteroaryl trifluoroborate salts is described. This reaction features simple open-flask reaction conditions, the use of transition-metal-free catalysis, complete regioselectivity, and high diastereoselectivity. Preliminary mechanistic studies suggest that carbocation formation is disfavored. Stereoretentive addition is favored with Brønsted acid present, while stereoinversion is favored in its absence, indicating divergent mechanisms.
