Abstract
In this work, by using N-methoxybenzamides as efficient acyl nitrene precursors, an iron-catalyzed formal cis-haloamidation of alkyne is reported. Without assistance of additives, the reaction worked well in the presence of 50 mol% FeCl3 or FeBr3, leading to a series of chloro/bromo-containing isoindolin-5-ones with high efficiency and wide reaction scope. In the reaction, the iron-facilitated haloamidation proceeds through a halo anion-participating concerted [3+2] cyclization to release the final products. The key intermediate ferric acyl nitrene A is generated in situ from a formal removal of MeOH.

Abstract
Unusual intermolecular trapping of esters by carbenes generated via a Huisgen cyclization/retroelectrocyclization/dediazotization cascade reaction is presented. β-Oxo-N-vinylimidates could be obtained in one step from propargyl carbonazidates. Mechanistic control experiments suggested reversible dipole formation by ester addition to the carbene, and nitrogen attack to the ester carbonyl was irreversibly followed by stereoselective decarboxylative elimination to give the Z-vinyl imidate. The cross-conjugated enone, imidate, and enamine functional groups in the β-oxo-N-vinylimidates offer novel syntheses of functionalized oxazoles.

Abstract
Here an efficient copper-catalyzed cascade cyclization of azide-ynamides via α-imino copper carbene intermediates is reported, representing the first generation of α-imino copper carbenes from alkynes. This protocol enables the practical and divergent synthesis of an array of polycyclic N-heterocycles in generally good to excellent yields with broad substrate scope and excellent diastereoselectivities. Moreover, an asymmetric azide-ynamide cyclization has been achieved with high enantioselectivities (up to 98:2 e.r.) by employing BOX-Cu complexes as chiral catalysts. Thus, this protocol constitutes the first example of an asymmetric azide-alkyne cyclization. The proposed mechanistic rationale for this cascade cyclization is further supported by theoretical calculations.

Abstract
An iron-catalyzed one-pot three-component reaction of 1-substituted benzimidazoles with diazoacetates and electron-deficient alkynes or alkenes has been reported. Mechanistically, the reaction goes through a 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of catalytically generated benzimidazolium N-ylides with various activated alkynes or alkenes, leading to multi-substituted and polycyclic fused pyrrole derivatives, respectively.
