Abstract
The Baeyer-Villiger (B-V) oxidation of ketones to the corresponding lactones/esters is a classic and essential reaction in the chemical industry. However, this oxidation process has not yet been achieved in ambient conditions with the aid of oxygen and heterogeneous photocatalysts. In this study, we developed an organic photocatalytic system using covalent triazine/heptazine-based frameworks (CTF-TB/CHF-TB) to enable the B-V oxidation reaction under mild conditions through a cascade reaction pathway. Experimental data and theoretical calculations showed that heptazine/triazine units can "chelate" and decompose the in situ generated H2O2 into hydroxyl radicals (⋅OH). Compared to conventional methods that primarily involve metal-activated benzaldehyde at elevated temperatures (e.g., 60 °C), the ⋅OH generated in our study can readily cleave the C-H bond of benzaldehyde, forming an active intermediate that drives subsequent sequential processes: O2→H2O2→⋅OH→Ph-CO⋅→Ph-COOO⋅. By employing this photocatalytic process, a yield of 91 % and a selectivity of over 99 % were obtained in the oxidation of cyclohexanone to caprolactone at room temperature. This performance is comparable to the state-of-the-art catalysts, and our CHF-TB catalyst demonstrates impressive reusability, maintaining a high yield after 5 consecutive runs. This work presents a straightforward approach for C-H cleavage by organocatalysts to produce ϵ-caprolactone in a mild manner by B-V oxidation.

Abstract
The reactivity of ketyl radicals and benzoyl radicals, two key intermediates of photo-induced oxidation of benzyl alcohol, can be stabilized by the host-guest interaction of the radicals with cucurbit[7]uril. As a result, the selectivity of photo-induced oxidation from benzyl alcohol to aldehyde is significantly improved by diminishing side reactions and inhibiting the generation of carboxylic acid products. This work presents a new route to modulate the reactivity of radical intermediates, enriching the chemistry of supramolecular intermediates and the toolbox of supramolecular catalysis.

Abstract
An efficient method for the synthesis of 2-ethylhexanoic acid has been reported. The method involves the 2-ethylhexanal oxidation using oxygen or air in the presence of N-hydroxyphthalimide in isobutanol as a solvent under mild conditions. A high selectivity of >99% for 2-ethylhexanoic acid was achieved. The influence of catalyst amount, solvent type and quantity, temperature, and reaction time on the product composition was studied. The developed method is in line with the global trends aimed at developing green oxidation processes as well as having potential for implementation in industry due to its high selectivity, cost-effective oxidizing agent, and mild reaction conditions. The use of isobutanol as a solvent is of crucial importance providing an opportunity for potential producers of 2-EHAL from butanal to employ the less valuable alcohol.

Abstract
In the aerobic oxidation of aldehydes to acids, how the solvent affect the reaction remains unclear. Herein, the solvent effect in the oxidation of 2-ethylhexanal (2-ETH) to 2-ethylhexanoic acid (2-ETA) was systematically investigated. The vastly different product distributions were observed which could be ascribed to the dominant intermolecular forces. Though strong intermolecular forces in protic solvents limit the oxidation, the optimal 2-ETA yield (96%) was obtained in ipropanol via gradually evaporating the solvent to remove the interactions. Theoretical calculations further revealed that the hydrogen bonds between reactant and protic solvent increase the C-H bond energy (-CHO in 2-ETH). Meanwhile, the hydrogen bonds may improve 2-ETA selectivity by promoting H transfer in the oxidation rearrangement step. Our work discloses the critical role of polarity in determining the reactivity and selectivity of 2-ETH oxidation, and could guide the rational design of more desirable reaction processes with solvent effect.

Abstract
Biomimetic oxidation of primary amines to carboxylic acids has been developed where the copper-containing amine oxidase (CuAO)-like o-NQ-catalyzed aerobic oxidation was combined with the aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH)-like TBHP-mediated imine oxidation protocol. Notably, the current tandem oxidation strategy provides a new mechanistic insight into the imine intermediate and the seemingly simple TBHP-mediated oxidation pathways of imines. The developed metal-free amine oxidation protocol allows the use of molecular oxygen and TBHP, safe forms of oxidant that may appeal to the industrial application.

Abstract
In this work, cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbene copper ((CAAC)Cu) catalyzed aerobic oxidation of aldehydes in water at room temperature has been reported. Good to excellent yields were obtained using different substrates. A possible reaction mechanism was proposed, in which (CAAC)Cu dioxygen activates the C-H bond of aldehyde with a low barrier of 10.6 kcal mol-1.

Abstract
A Ce-catalyzed strategy is developed to produce biaryl methanones via photooxidative cleavage of C-C double bonds at room temperature. This reaction is performed under air and demonstrates high activity as well as functional group tolerance. A synergistic Ce/ROH catalytic mechanism is also proposed based on the experimental observations. This protocol should be the first successful Ce-catalyzed photooxidation reaction of olefins with air as the oxidant, which would provide inspiration for the development of novel Ce-catalyzed photochemical synthesis processes.

Abstract
The two-step flow asymmetric synthesis of chiral γ-nitrobutyric acids as key intermediates of the GABA analogues baclofen, phenibut, and fluorophenibut is reported on a multigram scale. The telescoped process comprises an enantioselective Michael-type addition facilitated by a polystyrene-supported heterogeneous organocatalyst under neat conditions followed by in situ-generated performic acid-mediated aldehyde oxidation. Simple access to valuable optically active substances is provided with key advances in terms of productivity and sustainability compared to those of previous batch approaches.
