Abstract
Given the threat to human health posed by the abuse of tetracycline (TC), the development of a portable, on-site methods for highly sensitive and rapid TC detection is crucial. In this work, we initially synthesized europium-doped silicon nanoparticles (SiEuNPs) through a facile one-pot microwave-assisted method. Due to its blue-red dual fluorescence emission (465 nm/621 nm), which was respectively attributed to the silicon nanoparticles and Eu3+, SiEuNPs were designed as a ratiometric fluorescent sensor for TC detection. For the dual-signal reverse response mechanism: TC quenched the blue emission from silicon nanoparticles through inner filter effect (IFE), and enhanced the red emission through "antenna effect" (AE) between TC and Eu3+, the nanoprobe was able to detect TC within a range of 0.2-10 μM with a limit of detection (LOD) of 10.7 nM. Notably, the equilibrium detection time was only 1 min, achieving rapid TC detection. Furthermore, TC was also measured in real samples (tap water, milk and honey) with recoveries ranging from 95.7 % to 117.0 %. More importantly, a portable smartphone-assisted on-site detection platform was developed, enabling real-time qualitative identification and semi-quantitative analysis of TC based on fluorescence color changes. This work not only provided a novel doped silicon nanoparticles strategy, but also constructed a ratiometric sensing platform with dual-signal reverse response for intuitive and real-time TC detection.

Abstract
On-site quantitative analysis of pesticide residues is crucial for monitoring environmental quality and ensuring food safety. Herein, we have developed a reliable hydrogel portable kit using NaYbF4@NaYF4: Yb, Tm upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) combined with MnO2 nanoflakes. This portable kit is integrated with a smartphone reader and Python-assisted analysis platform to enable sample-to-result analysis for chlorpyrifos. The novel UCNPs maximizes energy donation to MnO2 acceptor by employing 100 % of activator Yb3+ in the nucleus for NIR excitation energy collection and confining emitter Tm3+ to the surface layer to shorten energy transfer distance. Under NIR excitation, efficient quenching of upconversion blue-violet emission by MnO2 nanoflakes occurs, and the quenched emission is recovered with acetylcholinesterase-mediated reactions. This process allows for the determination of chlorpyrifos by inhibiting enzymatic activity. The UCNPs/MnO2 were embedded to fabricate a hydrogel portable kit, the blue-violet emission images captured by smartphone were converted into corresponding gray values by Python-assisted superiority chart algorithm which achieves a real-time rapid quantitative analysis of chlorpyrifos with a detection limit of 0.17 ng mL-1. At the same time, pseudo-color images were also added by Python in "one run" to distinguish images clearly. This sensor detection with Python-assisted analysis platform provides a new perspective on pesticide monitoring and broadens the application prospects in bioanalysis.

Abstract
Owing to the adverse effects of oxytetracycline (OTC) residues on human health, it is of great importance to construct a rapid and effective strategy for OTC detection. Herein, we developed a dual-response fluorescence sensing platform based on molybdenum sulfide quantum dots (MoS2 QDs) and europium ions (Eu3+) for ratiometric detection of OTC. The MoS2 QDs, synthesized through an uncomplicated one-step hydrothermal approach, upon OTC integration into the MoS2 QDs/Eu3+ sensing system, exhibit a significant quenching of blue fluorescence due to the inner filter effect (IFE), simultaneously enhancing the distinct red emission of Eu3+ at 624 nm, a phenomenon attributed to the antenna effect (AE). This sensor demonstrates exceptional selectivity and sensitivity towards OTC, characterized by a linear detection range of 0.2-10 μM and a notably low detection limit of 2.21 nM. Furthermore, we achieved a visual semi-quantitative assessment of OTC through the discernible fluorescence color transition from blue to red under a 365 nm ultraviolet lamp. The practical applicability of this sensor was validated through the successful detection of OTC in milk and mutton samples, underscoring its potential as a robust tool for OTC monitoring in foodstuffs to safeguard food safety.

Abstract
Tetracycline (TC) has been widely used in clinical medicine and animal growth promotion due to its broad-spectrum antibacterial properties and affordable prices. Unfortunately, the high toxicity and difficult degradation rate of TC molecules make them easy to accumulate in the environment, which breaks the ecological balance and seriously threatens human health. Rapid and accurate detection of TC residue levels is important for ensuring water quality and food safety. Recently, fluorescence detection technology of TC residues has developed rapidly. Lanthanide nanomaterials, based on the high luminescence properties of lanthanide ions and the high matching with TC energy levels, are favored in the real-time trace detection of TC due to their advantages of high sensitivity, rapidity, and high selectivity. Therefore, they are considered potential substitutes for traditional detection methods. This review summarizes the synthesis strategy, TC response mechanism, removal mechanism, and applications in intelligent sensing. Finally, the development of lanthanide nanomaterials for TC fluorescence detection and removal is reasonably summarized and prospected. This review provides a reference for the establishment of a method for the accurate determination of TC content in complex food matrices.

Abstract
Sensitive and rapid detection of pesticide residues in food is essential for human safety. A ratiometric imprinted fluorescence sensor N-CDs@Eu-MOF@MIP (BR@MIP) was constructed to sensitively detect malathion (Mal). Europium-based metal organic frameworks (Eu-MOF) were used as supporters to improve the sensitivity of the BR@MIP. N-doped carbon dots (N-CDs) were used as fluorescent source to produce fluorescent signal. A linear relationship between the concentration of Mal and the fluorescence response of the sensor was found in the Mal concentration range of 1-10 μM with a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.05 μM. Furthermore, the sensor was successfully applied for the detection of Mal in lettuce, tap water, and soil samples, with recoveries in the range of 93.0 % - 99.3 %. Additionally, smartphone-based sensors were used to detect Mal in simulated real samples. Thus, the construction of ratiometric imprinted fluorescence sensor has provided a good strategy for the detection of Mal.

Abstract
In this manuscript, we synthesized CDs@ZIF-8 through a one-step, in-situ method by integrating green-emitting carbon dots (CDs) with zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8). The resulting CDs@ZIF-8 was utilized as an ultrasensitive probe for detection, leveraging the inner filter effect. The analysis demonstrated the capability to detect Sudan dyes. Sudan I, for example, could be detected within a concentration range spanning from 0.25 to 70 μM, achieving a remarkable detection limit of 76.56 nM. This established method was effectively employed for detecting Sudan I in paprika. Compared with CDs, CDs@ZIF-8 exhibited a 3.32-fold increase in sensitivity and a wider detection range. This enhanced performance was attributed to the porous ZIF-8, which allowed for the enrichment of targets around CDs and avoided the aggregation of CDs. Additionally, embedding the CDs in ZIF-8 improved their pH stability. Our study provides a new approach for using CDs under limited conditions by leveraging metal-organic frameworks.

Abstract
On-line quantitation of tetracycline (TC) is significant to ensure environmental health and food security. Hence, a novel smartphone-integrated ratiometric sensing platform for on-line quantitative analysis of TC was designed. A CitNa-functionalized g-C3N4/Eu3+ (g-C3N4/CitNa/Eu) composites with blue and red dual-emissive feature were fabricated as dual indicators for shielding background interference, enhancing anti-interference capability. The fluorescent response (F620/F450) ratio and TC concentration demonstrated good linear relationship ranged from 0.0 to 100.0 μM with a detection limit of 1.96 nM. Furthermore, the combination of g-C3N4/CitNa/Eu and polyacrylonitrile polymers forming electrospun film was achieved via electrospinning method. Smartphone-integrated ratiometric sensing platform was developed based on the fluorescent color of electrospun film from blue to light red with TC. This solid sensing platform achieved excellent sensitivity with a detection limit of 7.42 nM. Combining the solid ratiometric fluorescent film with smartphone reader provides a potential way for on-line quantitation of TC in food and other fields.

Abstract
Antibiotic residues cause extensive damage to food security, thus arousing serious concerns. Hence, rapid and sensitive detection of antibiotic residues is crucial to food safety. This study aimed to propose a portable, visual, intelligent and rapid method for tetracycline detection. We developed a ratiometric fluorescent sensor based on the Eu3+-functionalized regular octahedral UiO-66-NH2 material. The developed sensor could quantify tetracycline in the concentration range of 0.5-200 μM with a detection limit as low as 0.2 μM under the optimum conditions. Furthermore, the analytical results obtained using the designed sensor in the actual samples were basically consistent with those obtained using high-performance liquid chromatography. Based on these achievements, a smartphone application-integrated fluorescent testing paper was designed for facile, intelligent, and visual detection of tetracycline. The integrated portable sensor not only saved cost and time for testing but also provided a forward-looking approach to fast, sensitive detection of antibiotic residues.

Abstract
Given that intricate toxicological profiles exist among different antibiotics and pose serious threats to the environment and human health, synchronous analysis of multiple residues becomes crucial. Sensor arrays show potential to achieve the above purpose, but it is challenging to develop easy-to-use and high-sensitivity tools because the state-of-the-art arrays often require more than one recognition unit and are monosignal dependent. Here we exquisitely designed a fluorescent nanoprobe (2-aminoterephthalic acid-anchored CdTe quantum dots with Eu3+ coordination, CdTe-ATPA-Eu3+) featuring triple emissions at the same excitation as the only element to fabricate a luminescent sensor array with ratiometric calculations for identifying multiple antibiotics. By taking tetracycline, chlortetracycline, doxycycline, oxytetracycline, penicillin G, and sulfamethoxazole as models, the six species exhibited distinguishable motivation or/and quenching impacts on the three emissions of CdTe-ATPA-Eu3+, which were employed as indicators to perform the ratiometric logical operation and further combined with pattern recognition analysis for multitarget determination. Evidently, such a design exhibits two advances: (1) with the triple-emission probe as the sole receptor requiring neither internal nor external adjustments, the fabricated array acts as an extremely facile tool for multianalyte detection; (2) the ratiometric calculations offer excellent sensitivity and reliability for high-performance determination. Consequently, accurate identification and quantification of individual antibiotics and their combinations at various levels were verified in both laboratory and practical matrices. Our work provides a new tool for simultaneously detecting multiple antibiotics, and it will inspire the development of advanced sensor arrays for multitarget analysis.

Abstract
With the rapid development of fluorescent nanoparticles (FNPs), such as CDs, QDs, and MOFs, the construction of FNP-based probes has played a key role in improving chemical sensors. Ratiometric fluorescent probes exhibit distinct advantages, such as resistance to environmental interference and achieving visualization. Thus, FNP-based dual-emission ratiometric fluorescent probes (DRFPs) have rapidly developed in the field of metal ion and small molecule detection in the past few years. In this review, firstly we introduce the fluorescence sensing mechanisms; then, we focus on the strategies for the fabrication of DRFPs, including hybrid FNPs, single FNPs with intrinsic dual emission and target-induced new emission, and DRFPs based on auxiliary nanoparticles. In the section on hybrid FNPs, methods to assemble two types of FNPs, such as chemical bonding, electrostatic interaction, core satellite or core-shell structures, coordination, and encapsulation, are introduced. In the section on single FNPs with intrinsic dual emission, methods for the design of dual-emission CDs, QDs, and MOFs are discussed. Regarding target-induced new emission, sensitization, coordination, hydrogen bonding, and chemical reaction induced new emissions are discussed. Furthermore, in the section on DRFPs based on auxiliary nanoparticles, auxiliary nanomaterials with the inner filter effect and enzyme mimicking activity are discussed. Finally, the existing challenges and an outlook on the future of DRFP are presented. We sincerely hope that this review will contribute to the quick understanding and exploration of DRFPs by researchers.

Abstract
In this work, a rapid, specific, and visual ratiometric fluorescence probe was constructed for tetracycline hydrochloride (TCH) determination based on zinc-doped carbon quantum dots (Zn-CDs). In the presence of TCH, the blue fluorescence at 440 nm originating from Zn-CDs was quenched, and the green fluorescence at 515 nm stemming from TCH was enhanced. The inner filter effect (IFE) and the chelation between Zn and tetracycline are the main mechanisms for the conversion of spectra. The spectrum and color change completed and stabilized within 1 min, indicating the possibility of real-time detection of TCH. The detection range for TCH is 0.1-50 μM, and the low detection limit is 61.1 nM. In addition, Zn-CDs-based test strips were successfully applied to direct visual identification of TCH in actual samples of river water and milk, indicating the possibility of their practical application.

Abstract
Real-time quantitative analysis of tetracyclines is urgently needed to provide consumers with early warning of potential risks. Herein, we report a dual-mode green emissive fluorescent probe, which refers to the liquid mode and the solid mode of electrospun films doped with nitride-doped carbon nanosheets (NCNSs) for real-time detection of doxycycline (DOX). Highly fluorescent NCNSs were prepared by low-temperature solid treatment of urea and sodium citrate. With the addition of DOX, the green emission intensity of NCNSs at 475 nm can be obviously reduced. Method validation exhibited a good linear relationship in 0.05-150 μM between the fluorescence quenching of NCNSs and the concentration of DOX with a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.0127 μM. Furthermore, the immobilization of NCNSs in PAN carriers forming electrospun films stabilizes the green fluorescence of NCNSs. Additionally, electrospun films integrated into a smartphone were developed for real-time detection of DOX with LOD of 0.285 μM. Additionally, DOX in milk was monitored with satisfactory recoveries. Therefore, the integration of the smartphone and electrospun film provides a promising and convenient method for real-time identification of DOX in food analysis.

Abstract
In this work, a sustainable method was developed for the production of water-soluble carbon quantum dots employing a green approach. The synthetic protocol was employed using the microwave pyrolysis technique, while lemon peel served as a carbon precursor. Fabrication of highly fluorescent lemon-peel-derived CQDs (LP-CQDs) having inherent nitrogen functionality was validated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, FTIR, X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopic analysis, and TEM techniques. The average particle size of fabricated LP-CQDs was 4.46 nm. LP-CQDs yielded a remarkable quantum yield of 49.5%, which displayed excellent salinity, photostability, storage time, conditions, and pH stability. LP-CQDs displayed encouraging results for tetracycline (TC) detection using a PL turn-off approach. The sensitivity of LP-CQDs toward TC was seen in a nanomolar range having a detection limit of 50.4 nM. Method validation was comprehensively studied to ensure the precision of the nanosensor. A complete analysis of different photophysical parameters of LP-CQDs was performed with TC to gain a deeper understanding of the sensing mechanism. Fabricated LP-CQDs showed fluorescence quenching toward TC, elucidated by the inner filter effect (IFE) mechanism. The synthesized nanoprobe demonstrated a lesser detection limit with a broad linear range, enabling facile, cheap, environmentally friendly, and fast detection of TC. Practicality of the detection method was assessed through analysis of real samples, resulting in satisfactory recovery percentage and relative standard deviation with respect to the developed probes. Furthermore, LP-CQDs were used as fluorescent inks and to fabricate paper-based fluorescent strips. This study lays the door for the sensing platform of LP-CQDs toward detection of TC, which may impact the potential role of environmental sustainability.

Abstract
This work reports the development and application of a highly selective core@shell-based quantum dot-molecularly imprinted polymer (QD@MIP) sensor for the detection of sulfadiazine (SDZ)-an antibiotic which belongs to the sulfonamide family. The synthesis of the smart material or MIP (molecularly imprinted polymer) was carried out by a precipitation method directly on the quantum dot surface, which played the role of a fluorescent probe in the optical sensor. The synthesized polymer was characterized by scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Fluorescence experiments were performed in order to evaluate the effects of pH, interaction time of the QD@MIP with the analyte and SDZ concentration in different matrices. Under optimized conditions, a linear concentration range of 10.0-60.0 ppm and a limit of detection of 3.33 ppm were obtained. The repeatability and reproducibility of the proposed QD@MIP were evaluated in terms of the RSD, where RSD values of less than 5% were obtained in both tests. Selectivity studies were carried out in the presence of four possible interfering substances with quenching properties, and the signals obtained for these interferents confirmed the excellent selectivity of the proposed sensor; the imprinting factor value obtained for SDZ was 1.64. Finally, the proposed sensor was applied in real animal-based food samples using a spiked concentration of SDZ, where the recovery values obtained were above 90% (experiments were performed in triplicate).

Abstract
Artificial photosynthesis of H2O2 is a clean production technology, which brings the synergistic effect to photodegradation of pollutants. Inspired by defect engineering, 2D defective carbon nitride (g-C3N4) photocatalyst was obtained via potassium ion assisted synthesis. Defective g-C3N4 is protonated and applied to photosynthesis of H2O2, H2O2 concentration produced reached 477.7 μM, which was approximately 5.27 times that by pristine g-C3N4. Additionally, defective g-C3N4 materials are borrowed to synchronizing tetracycline (TC) fluorescence detection and degradation, suggesting the catalyst existed bifunctional characteristics of TC detection and degradation. Meanwhile, metal impregnation engineering (molybdenum) was borrowed enhancing the electron-trapping ability in local region of defective g-C3N4, which takes advantages to the efficient degradation of TC. Furthermore, optical and electrical properties of photocatalysts were investigated in details by advanced material characterization testing. This work provides potential applications in the field of artificial photosynthesis and pollution degradation.

Abstract
Accurate on-site analysis of tetracycline (TC) is of great research value for ensuring food safety and estimating environmental pollution. Herein, a smartphone-based fluorescent platform for TC detectionhas been developed based on a europium functionalized metal-organic framework (Zr-MOF/Cit-Eu). Based on the inner filter and antenna effect between Zr-MOF/Cit-Eu and TC, the probe exhibited a ratiometric fluorescent response toward TC, resulting in an emission color change from blue to red. Excellent sensing performance was achieved with a detection limit of 3.9 nM, consistent with the linear operation spanning nearly four orders of magnitude. Subsequently, visual test strips based on Zr-MOF/Cit-Eu were prepared, possessing the potential for accurate testing of TC via RGB signals. Finally, the proposed platform was well applied in actual samples with satisfied recoveries (92.27 to 110.22%). This MOF-based on-site fluorescent platform holds great potential on constructing intelligent platform for visual and quantitative detection of organic contaminants.

Abstract
A lanthanide terbium/europium metal-organic framework (Tb0.6Eu0.4-MOF) was prepared by one-step solvothermal method at room temperature. A series of characterizations including scanning electron microscopy, powder X-ray diffraction spectra, Fourier transform infrared spectra and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were carried out to clarify the physical characteristics of the synthesized material. The data clarified that the prepared Tb0.6Eu0.4-MOF possessed rod-like morphology with a width of 1-2 μm, and had good crystal structure, good stability, response speed and excitation-independent emission feature. The bunchy Tb0.6Eu0.4-MOF was then used to construct fluorescent sensors for rapid identification of malachite green and sulfamerazine. It was revealed that the detection mechanism was inner filter effect. The effects of different parameters such as excitation wavelength and incubation times were investigated on the fluorescence analysis performance. The data clarified that the optimal excitation wavelength and incubation time was 240 nm and 3 min, respectively. The detection platform exhibited the high sensitivity and selectivity toward malachite green in the linear range of 2-180 μM and determined limit of detection was 1.12 μM. Besides, the proposed sensor allowed sensitive detection of sulfamerazine in the linear range of 2-140 μM with a low detection limit of 0.1 μM. Meaningfully, a smartphone application was designed to assist the proposed sensor to realize visual, intelligent and rapid detection of malachite green and sulfamerazine. Furthermore, the practical application of the proposed sensor has been also verified by high performance liquid chromatography, showing good accuracy, sensitivity and satisfactory recoveries. The results suggested that the Tb0.6Eu0.4-MOF-based ratiometric fluorescent sensor had the potential to become a promising technique for rapid detection of malachite green or sulfamerazine with smartphone application. Therefore, the prepared Tb0.6Eu0.4-MOF is one kind of efficient and cost-effective potential materials for developing fluorescent sensor for rapid, sensitive and selective detection of sulfamerazine and malachite.

Abstract
The abuse of tetracycline antibiotics leads to accumulating residues in the human body, seriously affecting human health. Establishing a sensitive, efficient, and reliable method for qualitative and quantitative detection of tetracycline (TC) is necessary. This study integrated silver nanoclusters and europium-based materials into the same nano-detection system to construct a visual and rapid TC sensor with rich fluorescence color changes. The nanosensor has the advantages of a low detection limit (10.5 nM), high detection sensitivity, fast response, and wide linear range (0-30 μM), which can meet the analysis requirements of different types of food samples. In addition, portable devices based on paper and gloves were designed. Through the smartphone's chromaticity acquisition and calculation analysis application (APP), the real-time rapid visual intelligent analysis of TC in the sample can be realized, which guides the intelligent application of multicolor fluorescent nanosensors.

Abstract
Excessive consumption of Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) severely endangers human health and has raised public safety concerns. However, its quantification by readily rapid tools with simplicity and low cost is still challenging. Herein, we found that a G-rich THC aptamer (THC1.2) can tightly bind to thioflavin T (ThT) with strong fluorescence, which would be specifically quenched in the presence of THC. Based on that, a label-free ratiometric fluorescent sensor for the sensing of THC and its metabolite (THC-COOH) based on THC1.2/ThT as a color emitter and red CdTe quantum dots as reference fluorescence was constructed. Notably, a transition of the fluorescent color of the ratiometric probe from green to red can be instantly observed upon the increased concentration of THC and THC-COOH. Furthermore, a portable smartphone-based fluorescence device integrated with a self-programmed Python program was fabricated and used to accomplish on-site monitoring of THC and THC-COOH within 5 min. Under optimized conditions, this ratiometric fluorescent sensor allowed for an instant response toward THC and its metabolite with considerable limits of detection of 97 and 254 nM, respectively. The established sensor has been successfully applied to urine and saliva samples and exhibited satisfactory recoveries (88-116%). This ratiometric fluorescent sensor can be used for the simultaneous detection of THC and THC-COOH with the advantages of rapidness, low cost, ease of operation, and portability, providing a promising strategy for on-site detection and facilitating law enforcement regulation and roadside control of THC.

Abstract
The widespread presence of tetracyclines in the environment has raised concerns about the potential risks to ecosystems and human health. The ratiometric fluorescence sensor for detecting tetracyclines was developed using europium-doped carbon dots (Eu-CDs) as probes under alkaline conditions. The sensing mechanism of sensor for tetracyclines was considered as inner filter effect (IFE), antenna effect (AE), and self-quenching effect (SQE). The sensor had a wide linear detection range than the reported europium ions-based tetracyclines sensors. The linear detection ranges of oxytetracycline (OTC), tetracycline (TC), doxycycline (DC) and chlorotetracycline (CTC) were respectively 0.00-603.75 μM, 0.00-623.82 μM, 0.00-594.61 μM and 0.00-601.54 μM, and the corresponding detection limits were respectively 9.50 nM, 15.80 nM, 10.40 nM and 90.30 nM. The smartphone with RGB Color Picker was further employed to analyze the concentration of tetracyclines, which provided a new method for visual tetracyclines detection. The application of Eu-CDs test paper was also explored, and the results showed that the Eu-CDs test paper has great potential application in the visual detection of tetracyclines. In addition, the accuracy of the established tetracyclines sensor was compared with that of the China national standard method by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and the results showed that the established method in this work has similar accuracy to the China national standard method. The sensor has been employed to detect tetracyclines in the actual samples with satisfactory results, which indicated that this method has promising applications in the real-time monitoring tetracyclines of food and environment.

Abstract
P-benzoquinone (PBQ) is toxic and harmful for health. The development of portable sensor to realize the detection of PBQ is of great significance. Herein, a novel covalent organic framework (COFML-TFPB) with intramolecular charge transfer and aggregation induced emission properties was proposed via condensation reaction of melem (ML) and 1,3,5-tris (4-formylphenyl) benzene (TFPB). COFML-TFPB shows strong fluorescence in both solution and solid state and can be used for the fluorescence detection of PBQ. Due to the internal filtration effect and photoinduced electron transfer effect, PBQ can quench the fluorescence of COFML-TFPB. The developed COFML-TFPB fluorescent sensor displayed a wide linear range for PBQ from 0.138 ng mL-1 - 35 μg mL-1, and the detection limit was 0.046 ng mL-1. In addition, fluorescent test paper for rapid and portable detection of PBQ was also developed by depositing COFML-TFPB on filter paper directly. It reduces the cost and time of detection and realizes the semiquantitative detection of PBQ. Moreover, the fluorescence color was converted into digital RGB value to calculate the concentration of PBQ accurately by a smartphone. This method realizes the portable qualitative and semiquantitative determination of PBQ.

Abstract
Disinfection byproducts (DBPs), as an emerging water pollutant, present increasing concern and risk in public health and water safety. Due to their low concentration levels and inherent similarity in molecular structures, sensitive and accurate determination of DBPs is still a challenge especially for onsite or online detection. Herein, a self-regulated fluorescent probe based on the Ag nanoprism-modified lanthanide metal-organic framework (AgNPR@EuMOF) is designed for trichloroacetic acid (TCAA) detection. The EuMOF is constructed with Eu as the metal node and 5-boronoisophthalic acid as the ligand. By introducing sulfhydryl groups into EuMOF, AgNPR can be anchored on the EuMOF surface through Ag-S bonds, enabling the synthesis of stable AgNPR@EuMOF composites. During the sensing process, the triangle AgNPR will react with the organic halogen molecule, accomplished with the blue shift of surface plasmon resonance absorption peak and the significant change in the fluorescence of EuMOF. This probe can detect TCAA in a wide concentration range (0.1-40 μM) with high sensitivity and specificity. The density functional theory calculation on binding energies between DBPs and AgNPR suggests that TCAA has the largest interaction ability with AgNPR than other DBPs. Moreover, the detection of TCAA in real tap water and swimming pool water is also demonstrated with high accuracy. The reported AgNPR@EuMOF represents one of the pioneer fluorescence probes in DBP detection, which holds great promise for onsite or online analysis of trace DBPs in water.

Abstract
Precise and reliable onsite detection of methyl mercaptan (CH3SH) is of great significance for environmental surveillance. Here, we synthesized a novel blue fluorescence nanozyme CeO2@TPE with high peroxidase-like activity by employing aggregation-induced emission (AIE) tetraphenylethene (TPE) to embed into hollow CeO2 nanospheres. In the presence of ethanol oxidase (AOX) and o-phenylenediamine (OPD), we engineered an enzymatic cascade activation ratiometric fluorescence-colorimetric dual-mode system AOX/CeO2@TPE + OPD toward CH3SH. In this design, CH3SH initiated AOX catalytic activity to convert it into H2O2 for activating the peroxidase-like activity of CeO2@TPE, producing •OH for oxidizing the naked-eye colorless OPD into deep yellow 2,3-diaminophenazine (DAP) with an absorption enhancement at ∼425 nm, companied by a new emission peak at ∼550 nm to match with the intrinsic emission at ∼441 nm for observing ratiometric fluorescence response, enabling a ratiometric fluorescence-colorimetric dual-mode analysis. Interestingly, both the ratiometric fluorescence and colorimetric signals could be gathered for being converted into the hue parameter on a smartphone-based sensor, achieving the onsite visual fluorescence-colorimetric dual-mode detection of CH3SH in real environmental media with acceptable results. This study gave a novel insight into designing target-responsive enzymatic cascade activation system-based efficient and reliable dual-mode point-of-care sensors for safeguarding environmental health.

Abstract
Blue fluorescent carbon dots (PCDs) were prepared by hydrothermal method with Partridge tea. The ethanol extract of Partridge tea (PEE) was found to emit red fluorescence. Thus, a novel ratiometric sensor was constructed by simply mixing the two fluorophores derived from Partridge tea. The presence of tetracycline (TET) at lower concentrations enhanced the emission peak at 508 nm of PCDs and had a negligible effect on the emission peak at 680 nm of PEE. TET at higher concentrations led to quenching both the fluorescence of PCDs and PEE via inner filter effect and fluorescence resonance energy transfer, separately. Good linearities for the detection of TET were obtained in the ranges 0.67 to 15.00 μM and 33.33 to 266.67 μM, with limit of detection of 0.095 μM. The sensor was successfully applied to detect TET in lake water and milk samples with good recoveries ranging from 93.27 ± 4.04% to 107.30 ± 6.16%. This study provided a simple, selective, sensitive, rapid, and environmentally friendly method of monitoring TET residues in the environment and food.

Abstract
A miniature device was design for the point-of-care testing (POCT) of tetracycline (TC) including a ratio fluorescence test strip, a sample slot, a UV lamp and a smartphone. The nitrogen and sulfur co-doped carbon dots (N, S-CDs) and Eu3+ were dropped onto the filter paper to construct the ratio fluorescence test strips for the specific detection of TC. Under the excitation at 390 nm, the fluorescence emission of N, S-CDs at 530 nm decreases through inner filter effect (IEF) after addition of Eu3+. When the further addition of TC, the emission of N, S-CDs at 530 nm kept unchanged while the emission of Eu3+ at 616 nm was obviously enhanced for the antenna effect (AE) between Eu3+ and TC. The ratio changes of the two-fluorescence emission realized the quantitative detection of TC. In addition, the test strips with different concentrations of TC showed different fluorescence color from green to red under a 365 nm UV lamp. The miniature device was designed as a fluorescence photo reader with the merits of the powerful functions of smartphones and the portability of test strips. The smartphone camera takes a fluorescent color image of the test strips and the photos are recognized by a color recognizer on the smartphone to obtain RGB (red-greenblue) values which reflect the concentrations of the analytes. Therefore, we established a fast, sensitive and efficient POCT of TC. In particular, the proposed nanomaterial-based POCT platform will open a new route towards the development of ratio fluorescence probe for TC analysis for environment samples.

Abstract
Tetracycline (TC) is an antibiotic that has been widely used in the animal husbandry. Thus, TC residues may be found in animal products. Developing simple and sensitive methods for rapid screening of TC in complex samples is of great importance. Herein, we demonstrate a fluorescence-sensing method using Zn2+ as sensing probes for the detection of TC. Although TC can emit fluorescence under the excitation of ultraviolet light, its fluorescence is weak because of dynamic intramolecular rotations, leading to the dissipation of excitation energy. With the addition of Zn2+ prepared in tris(hydroxymethyl)amino-methane (Tris), TC can coordinate with Zn2+ in the Zn2+-Tris conjugates to form Tris-Zn2+-TC complexes. Therefore, the intramolecular motions of TC are restricted to reduce nonradiative decay, resulting in the enhancement of TC fluorescence. Aggregation-induced emission effects also play a role in the enhancement of TC fluorescence. Our results show that the linear dynamic range for the detection of TC is 15-300 nM. Moreover, the limit of detection was ~7 nM. The feasibility of using the developed method for determination of the concentration of TC in a complex chicken broth sample is also demonstrated in this work.

Abstract
Dual-mode sensing with a two-signal read-out is conducive to the improvement of detection accuracy. Herein, a fluorescent and scattering dual-mode chemosensor for tetracycline (TC) is proposed based on a carbon dot@cerium-guanosine monophosphate (CD@GMP-Ce) coordination polymer network. The inexpensive CD@GMP-Ce was prepared by exploiting the adaptive inclusion capability of coordination polymers and possessed remarkable fluorescence and strong Rayleigh scattering. The functional CD@GMP-Ce demonstrated fluorescence and scattering, the two optical-signal responses to TC simultaneously. Based on TC-specific fluorescence and scattering decline, the dual-mode detection of TC was established and the probe's detection limits were 43 nM in the fluorescence mode and 77 nM in the scattering mode, respectively. Furthermore, the potential application of the dual-mode sensor was verified by measuring TC in milk and tap-water samples. The study not only provides a new perspective for the development of assay methods for TC but also expands the applications of cerium coordination polymers.

Abstract
In this study, we constructed zinc based metal-organic framework functionalized by L-histidine (His@ZiF-8). The His@ZiF-8 had high porosity, large surface area, abundant carboxyl and amino group, which has been found to greatly enhance the aggregation-induced emission (AIE) of tetracycline (TC). After the His@ZiF-8 enrichment with TC, the TC exhibited strong fluorescence emission peak at 565 nm based on AIE. Under the optimal conditions, the fluorescence intensity of TC exhibited a good linear relationship with TC concentration within 0.1-80 μM with a low limit of detection of 28.6 nM. Antibiotic analogs such as neomycin, chloramphenico, ampicillin, kanamycin, and erythromycin have no obvious interference. In addition, the developed method was successfully used to the detection of TC in milk, river water, and honey.

Abstract
Since it is difficult for human eyes to distinguish between two identical colors with only <15% variation in brightness, mono-color fluorescent hydrogel microspheres have some limitations in the detection of lactate. Herein, we prepared novel dual-color fluorescent hydrogel microspheres, which can achieve hue transformation. Microspheres were prepared by introducing a fluorescent nanoparticle as the reference signal while CdTe QDs were used as the response signal. We used smartphones with image processing software to collect and analyze data. In this way, the signal of lactate was converted to RGB (red, green, and blue) values, which can be quantitatively read. Within 10 to 1500 μM, the R/G values of the microspheres had a linear relationship with the logarithm of the lactate concentration. Moreover, color cards for lactate detection were prepared, from which the color change and concentration of lactate could be easily read by the naked eye. It is worth mentioning that this method was successfully applied to screen patients with hyperlactatemia.

Ratiometric fluorescence and visual determination of tetracycline antibiotics based on Y 3+ and copper nanoclusters-induced cascade signal amplification. Mikrochim Acta 2022; 189:352. Abstract
A ratiometric fluorescence probe is proposed for sensitive and visual detection of tetracyclinee (TC) based on cascade fluorescence signal amplification induced by bovine serum albumin-stabilized copper nanoclusters (BSA-CuNCs) and yttrium ions (Y3+). TC can combine with Y3+ to form the complex (TC-Y3+) to enhance the fluorescence of TC at 515 nm. Then, positively charged TC-Y3+ and negatively charged BSA-CuNCs was bonded together by electrostatic interactions to achieve the fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) process. With the increase of TC concentration, the fluorescence intensity of TC-Y3+ at 515 nm (F515) gradually increased; meanwhile, the fluorescence intensity of BSA-CuNCs at 405 nm (F405) decreased gradually. The ratio of F515 and F405 was used for the quantitative determination of TC. The linear range of the constructed fluorescent probe is 1.0 to 60.0 μM, and the limit of detection is 0.22 μM. The method was successfully applied to the determination of TC in spiked milk with recoveries ranging from 94.3 to 112%. Furthermore, the color of this platform can be observed from dark violet to bright green under the UV lamp. Since the response time of the reaction is less than 10 s, an intelligent sensing platform based on the use of the smartphone as image acquisition equipment was also established to realize rapid on-site and portable detection of TC through the colorimetric recognition application.

Abstract
In this work, a fluorescent sensor based on a zirconium-based metal organic framework was prepared for the detection of tetracyclines (TCs) in milk. The UiO-66-NH2 fluorescent sensor was synthesized by a simple microwave-assisted method with 2-aminoterephthalic acid and zirconium chloride as precursors. In the presence of target TCs, the synergistic effect of the inner filter effect (IFE) and photo-induced electron transfer (PET) was responsible for the fluorescence quenching of UiO-66-NH2, and the fluorescence sensor showed a rapid fluorescence quenching response (5 min) to target TCs. The proposed UiO-66-NH2 sensor had good sensitivity and selectivity, and under the optimal conditions possessed detection limits of 0.449, 0.431, and 0.163 μM for tetracycline (TET), oxytetracycline (OTC), and doxycycline (DOX), respectively. Besides, the UiO-66-NH2 sensor was successfully applied to the quantitative detection of TCs in milk samples with reasonable recoveries of 93.26-115.17%, and the detection results achieved from the as-fabricated fluorescence sensing assay were consistent with those of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), indicating the potential applicability of the UiO-66-NH2 sensor for detecting TCs in actual food samples.

Abstract
The proposition of ratiometric detection mode has demonstrated great superiority in improving analysis accuracy by forming self-calibration. Herein, the novel dual-reverse-signal ratiometric fluorescence detection for malachite green (MG) was first achieved based on synergistic effect of fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) and inner filter effect (IFE). The ratiometric fluorescence probe (B-RCDs) was self-assembled via electrostatic attraction between blue-emission carbon dots (BCDs) and red-emission carbon dots (RCDs), followed with FRET effect from BCDs to RCDs and exhibited dual-emission at 450 nm and 627 nm. In the presence of MG, the IFE effect between MG and RCDs quenched the fluorescence at 627 nm and restored the fluorescence at 450 nm, sending out two reverse signals along with an obvious color change from pink to purple (302 nm UV lamp). This ratiometric method not only simplified the preparation process, but also improved the detection sensitivity, showing a low limit of detection (LOD) of 41.8 nM, which exhibited superiority than that of single-signal RCDs (157.3 nM). This method held a rapid response of 10 min and represented satisfactory recoveries (99.14%-109.08%) in real water samples, revealing it was a promising candidate in the fast, sensitive and practical detection of MG. Moreover, the design of synergistic effect supplied a new perspective for the development of ratiometric sensing in the future.

Abstract
The development of efficient, economic, reliable, and accurate monitoring of hypochlorite (ClO-) in food matrices is in great demand for food safety assessment, particularly during its massive use against the COVID-19 epidemic. Here, we prepared an aggregation-induced emission (AIE) fluorophore tetraphenylethylene (TPE)-incorporated curcumin-based hybrid ratiometric fluorescence nanoprobe (Curcumin/TPE@HyNPs) through amphiphilic phospholipid polymer-powered nanoprecipitation, which exhibited a fast, highly sensitive, and selective response to the residual ClO- in real food matrices. Because of the inner filter effect (IFE) from curcumin toward TPE inside the nanoprobe, the bright fluorescence of TPE aggregation at ∼437 nm was effectively quenched, along with an enhanced fluorescence of curcumin at ∼478 nm. Once there was a ClO- residue in food matrices, ClO- triggered the oxidation of o-methoxyphenol inside curcumin and led to the almost complete absorption collapse, thereby terminating curcumin fluorescence at ∼478 nm and the IFE process. Accordingly, the fluorescence of TPE at ∼437 nm was recovered. In this case, a ratiometric fluorescent response of Curcumin/TPE@HyNPs toward the residual ClO- in food matrices (e.g., milk) was proposed with a low detection limit of 0.353 μM and a rapid response time of 140.0 s. Notably, the phospholipid polymer as the protection layer effectively reduced/evaded the nonspecific binding of signal reporters inside the nanoprobe, facilitating it to directly monitor the residual ClO- in real food matrices. This work provided a novel approach to utilize the unconventional AIE luminophors for constructing the efficient and reliable early warning mechanisms toward various food contaminants.

Abstract
Accurate and low-cost onsite assay of residual antibiotics in food and agriculture-related matrixes (e.g., milk) is of significant importance for evaluating and controlling food pollution risk. Herein, we employed hybrid Cu-doped-g-C3N4 nanozyme to engineer smartphone-assisted onsite visual sensor for reliable and precise reporting the levels of tetracycline (TC) residues in milk through π-π stacking-triggered blocking effect. Benefiting from the synergetic effects of Cu2+ and g-C3N4 nanosheet, Cu-doped-g-C3N4 nanocomposite exhibited an improved peroxidase-like activity, which could effectively catalyze H2O2 to oxidate colorless TMB into steel-blue product oxTMB. Interestingly, owing to the blocking effect caused by the π-π stacking interaction between TC tetraphenyl skeleton and Cu-doped-g-C3N4 nanozyme, the affinity of Cu-doped-g-C3N4 nanocomposite toward the catalytic substrates was remarkably blocked, resulting in a TC concentration-dependent fading of solution color. Using smartphone-assisted detection a simple, low-cost, reliable, and sensitive portable colorimetric sensor-based nanozyme for onsite visual monitoring the residual TC in milk was successfully developed with a detection limit of 86.27 nM. Of particular mention is that this detection limit is comparable to most other reported colorimetric methods and below most official allowable residue thresholds in milk matrixes. This work gave a novel insight to integrate two-dimensional (2D) artificial nanozymes-based π-π stacking-triggered blocking effect with smartphone-assisted detection for developing efficient and low-cost colorimetric point-of-care testing of the risk factors in food and agriculture-related matrixes.

Abstract
In this paper, carbon dot (CD)-encapsulated 1,3,5-tris(4-formylphenyl)benzene (TFB)/2,5-dihydroxyterephthalohydrazide (DHTH) covalent organic frameworks (TDCOFs) grafted with thermoresponsive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) (CDs@TDCOFs@PNIPAM) were fabricated for the detection of pyrethroids. CDs@TDCOFs@PNIPAM achieved a temperature-responsive "on/off" detection of pyrethroids based on the target-triggered electron-transfer mechanism. The detection limit of pyrethroids was as low as 0.69 μg/L in the wide linear range of 5-400 μg/L (R2 > 0.9523). Simultaneously, CDs@TDCOFs@PNIPAM with red, green, and blue (RGB) fluorescence emissions were integrated with a smartphone-assisted device, enabling the visual smart quantitative detection of pyrethroids with a detection limit of 4.875 μg/L. Ultimately, agricultural products were chosen as actual samples to verify the applicability of both recognition modes, and the calculated recovery rate was 105.48-113.40%. Accordingly, CDs@TDCOFs@PNIPAM featuring temperature-responsive switching behavior and RGB fluorescence emission provided a promising analytical strategy for ensuring agricultural and food safety.

Abstract
Antibiotic residues have become a public health issues, the fast detection of tetracycline (Tc) in the environment is urgently required. In this work, Ti3C2 quantum dots (Ti3C2 QDs) and Europium ions jointly constructed a ratiometric fluorescence (FL) platform for the detection of Tc, based on synergistic impact of the Foster Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) from Ti3C2 QDs to Eu3+ ions and the Antenna Effect (AE) between Tc and Eu3+ ions. And we proposed a ratiometric FL platform for detecting Tc with good linear response range (100-1000 uM) and low detection limit (48.79 nM). Meanwhile, we applied this platform to detect a serious of β-diketone ligands of Eu3+ ions, demonstrating the platform's versatility for this category of chemical. Furthermore, based on the color changes of QDs@Eu3+ from blue to red at 365 nm ultraviolet light, an intelligent detection smart device was built for the visual semi-quantitative detection of Tc in actual samples. We proved the applicability of the device in complicated samples and the potential for rapid, sensitive, intuitive and point-of-care detection in the field of environment, food, pharmaceutical and agriculture.
