Abstract
In the fields of photolithographic patterning, optical anticounterfeiting, and information encryption, reversible photochromic materials with solid-state fluorescence are emerging as a potential class of systems. A design strategy for reversible photochromic materials has been proposed and synthesized through the introduction of photoactive thiophene groups into the molecular backbone of aryl vinyls, compounds with unique aggregation-induced emission properties, and solid-state reversible photocontrollable fluorescence and color-changing properties. This work develops novel photochromic inks, films, and cellulose hydrogels for enhancing the security of information encryption and anticounterfeiting technologies. They achieve rapid and reversible color change under ultraviolet light irradiation. Dependent upon the rate of color change, higher levels of time-resolved security can be achieved. This feature is important for enhancing the confidentiality of encrypted information and the reliability of security labels. Color-changing cellulose hydrogels, inks, and films consisting of three photochromic fluorescent molecules have quick photoactivity, great photoreversibility and photostability, and good processability, making them ideal for time-delayed anticounterfeiting and smart encryption. Furthermore, specialized algorithms are used to construct convolutional neural networks, and image analysis is performed on these systems, thus solving the current problem of the time-consuming information decryption process. This artificial intelligence method offers new opportunities for enhanced data encryption.

Abstract
Globalization and the increasing complexity of supply chains have allowed food fraud to expand to a great extent. Some of the most serious effects of these deceitful activities are damage to a brand's reputation and trust, economic losses, and public health risks. The usual victims of food fraud are dairy, meat, fish, and seafood products, as well as fats/oils and alcoholic drinks. The purpose of this review paper is to present an updated analysis of the currently available anticounterfeit technologies and their application to the four most fraud-affected food supply chains. An assessment that was conducted to determine when the adoption of a combination of technologies could enhance food safety and brand protection is also provided. The obtained results indicate that electronic and data-driven technologies (RFID devices and digital traceability systems) are still in their infancy in the food sectors that are subjected the most to fraudulent activities. Research is necessary to develop innovative digital and physical technologies to "outsmart" such fraudsters and to prevent their illicit actions in the food sector.

Abstract
Information encryption platforms with reliable encryption performance, excellent mechanical performance, and high water retention capacity are highly desired. In this study, a tough double-network hydrogel is designed using the first network of a polyion complex containing lanthanide complexes via one-pot polymerization and the second network of a poly (N-hydroxyethyl acrylamide) (PHEAA) obtained by deep eutectic solvent (DES)-assisted introduction and subsequent photopolymerization. In this system, the pH-induced shape memory function and pH-/wavelength-dependent fluorescence allow the use of the prepared hydrogel as a dual-encryption platform. Owing to its high response reversibility, the hydrogel-based platform exhibits both a high security level and the advantages of rewritability, reprogrammability, and reusability. Additionally, the excellent mechanical properties and water retention capacity owing to the solvent exchange process involving the low-volatility solvent DES and the resulting introduction of the second network of PHEAA offer high practical application value for the hydrogel-based dual encryption platform, demonstrating its potential for information security protection.

Abstract
Hydrogels have attracted widespread attention in anticounterfeiting due to their unique physical/chemical properties and designability. However, hydrogels' poor mechanical properties and sluggish response to chemical stimuli pose challenges for their wide application. A fluorescent tough organohydrogel capable of freeform writing of information is reported in this work. By incorporation of the fluorescent monomer 7-methylacryloxy-4-methylcoumarin into the polyacrylamide network in a covalently cross-linked manner while intertwining with the carboxymethyl cellulose sodium network, a fluorescent tough organohydrogel with a dual-network structure is prepared. The organohydrogel shows acid-base-mediated adjustable fluorescence through the transformation of fluorescent monomers. Ion printing and electrical stimulation design achieved free information storage and encryption. In addition, the prepared organohydrogel has good antifreezing properties and can be encrypted and decrypted at subzero temperatures. The encrypted information in the organohydrogel can be read only after UV-light irradiation. These patterned fluorescent organohydrogels should find applications in protected message displays for improved information security.

Abstract
Here, we report a novel invisible ink with different decay times based on thin films with different molar ratios of spiropyran (SP)/Si, which allows the encryption of messages over time. Nanoporous silica has been found to be an excellent substrate to improve the solid photochromism of spiropyran, but the hydroxyl groups of silica have a serious effect on fade speeds. The density of silanol groups in silica has an influence on the switching behavior of spiropyran molecules, as they stabilize the amphiphilic merocyanine isomers and thus slow down the fading process from the open to the closed form. Here, we investigate the solid photochromic behavior of spiropyran by sol-gel modification of the silanol groups and explore its potential application in UV printing and dynamic anticounterfeiting. To extend its applications, spiropyran is embedded in organically modified thin films prepared by the sol-gel method. Notably, by using the different decay times of thin films with different SP/Si molar ratios, time-dependent information encryption can be realized. It provides an initial "false" code, which does not display the required information, and only after a given time will the encrypted data appear.

Abstract
The development of double encryption system enables information to switch reversibly between "False" and "True", which helps to ensure information security in the transmission process. Herein, a biomimetic cellulose nanofibre-based double information encryption sensor (CNF-DIES) with an excellent pH response and fluorescence colour-switching performance was prepared with fluorescein isothiocyanate and protoporphyrin IX modified acetylated cellulose nanofibres (ACNF) as the pH response switch and background, respectively. Interestingly, with the addition of cellulose, CNF-DIES can be regarded as both a dye and an ink binder, which can realize direct writing function. The fluorescein grafted to ACNF guaranteed the stability of writing and avoided the "coffee ring" phenomenon. The handwriting written by CNF-DIES processes excellent light/pH double encryption performance. Besides, the film prepared by CNF-DIES can realize high resolution fingerprint imaging. This work demonstrated a strategy for pH-responsive colour-tunable materials for sensors and double information encryption.

Abstract
The rapid progress of information technology is accompanied by plenty of information embezzlement and forgery, but developing advanced encryption technologies to ensure information security remains challenging. Phase separation commonly leads to a dramatic change in the transmittance of hydrophilic polymer networks, which is a potential method for information security but is often neglected. Here, taking the polyacrylamide (PAAm) hydrogel system as a typical example, facilely adjustable information encryption and decryption via its regulable phase separation process in ethanol/water mixed solvent, are reported. By controlling the osmotic pressure of the external and internal environment, it is demonstrated that the diffusion coefficient during deswelling and reswelling, as well as the corresponding change of transmittance of the gel, can be well controlled. Relatively high osmotic pressure leads to rapid phase separation of the initial gel but slow phase remixing of the phase-separated gel, opening the opportunity of applying the gel as a reversible information encryption device. As proof-of-concept demonstrations, several stable and reversible information encryption and decryption systems by making use of the phase separation process of the gels are designed, which are expected to inspire the development of next-generation soft devices for information technology.

Abstract
Plasmonic materials have been widely used in chemo/biosensing and biomedicine. However, little attention has been paid to the application of plasmonic materials in terms of the transition from molecular sensing to molecular informatization. Herein, we demonstrated that silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) prepared through facile and rapid microwave heating have multimode colorimetric sensing capabilities to different metal ions (Cr3+, Hg2+, and Ni2+), which can be further transformed into interesting and powerful molecular information technology (massively parallel molecular logic computing and molecular information protection). The prepared AgNPs can quantitatively and sensitively detect Cr3+ and Hg2+ in actual water samples. The AgNPs' multimode-guided multianalyte sensing processing was further investigated to construct a series of basic logic gates and advanced cascaded logic circuits by considering the analytes as the inputs and the colorimetric signals (like color, absorbance, wavelength shift) as the outputs. Moreover, the selective responses and molecular logic computing ability of AgNPs were also utilized to develop molecular cryptosteganography for encrypting and hiding some specific information, which proves that the molecular world and the information world are interconnected and use each other. This research not only opens the door for the transition from molecular sensing to molecular informatization but also provides an excellent opportunity for the construction of the "metaverse" of the molecular world.
