Abstract
Amorphous high-entropy alloys (HEAs) as electromagnetic-wave absorbing materials have been rarely reported. In this work, amorphous FeCoNiTixSi HEAs were synthesized by introducing a high content of large-atom Ti using the high-energy ball-milling technique. This amorphous structure could improve the saturated magnetization and coercivity of HEAs, but slightly degraded the mechanical and oxidation resistance properties. In terms of electromagnetic properties, FeCoNiTi0.01Si and FeCoNiTiSi exhibit excellent electromagnetic-wave absorption performances, with significant absorptions of -68.4 dB at 6.14 GHz and -63.4 dB at 9.12 GHz, corresponding to bandwidths of 5.15 GHz (1.69 mm) and 3.64 GHz (1.43 mm), respectively. Overall, the prepared FeCoNiTixSi HEAs exhibited superior comprehensive performances compared to other HEA absorption materials. This work provided a novel strategy for the development of new electromagnetic-wave absorption materials with low weight, high absorption efficiency, and resistance to harsh environments.

Abstract
Exploring highly efficient electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding filler is urgently desired for next-generation wireless communication and integrated electronics. In this regard, a series of heterogeneous MoO2/N-doped carbon (MoO2/NC) nanorods with tunable conductivity have been successfully synthesized by regulating the pyrolysis temperature within 600, 700 and 800 °C. Profiting from the rational design of heterointerface and low-dimensional structure, the MoO2/NC powder achieves stronger EMI shielding capacity with the incremental temperature. It is found that the MoO2/NC-800 nanorods exhibit the optimal average EMI shielding effectiveness (SE) of 57.2 dB at a thickness of ∼0.3 mm in the X band. Meanwhile, the corresponding shielding mechanisms of MoO2/NC nanorods are also elaborately explained. More interestingly, the increase of sintering temperature makes an obvious effect on absorption loss but has little influence on reflection loss, demonstrating that adjusting the pyrolysis temperature is an effective strategy to strengthen the electromagnetic energy dissipation.

Abstract
Although intensive efforts have been devoted to fabricating Ti3C2Tx MXene composites for microwave absorption, it remains a great challenge to achieve excellent MA performance at low loading and thin thickness. Herein, a three-dimensional (3D) lightweight hierarchically structured MnO2/Ti3C2Tx/RGO composite aerogel with abundant heterointerfaces was fabricated via a hydrothermal and chemical reduction self-assembly method. The RGO aerogel embedded with laminated MnO2/Ti3C2Tx provides a lot of heterogeneous interfaces, 3D porous interconnected conductive networks, and reasonable combination of various loss materials for rich interfacial polarization, conductivity loss, multiple reflections and scattering, and good impedance matching. Benefiting from the synergy of different loss mechanisms, the maximum reflection loss (RL) is up to -66.5 dB (>99.9999% energy absorption) at only 10 wt % loading and 2.0 mm thickness, and even at only 1.5 mm thickness, the maximum RL value remains at -36 dB (>99.9% energy absorption). The work provides a promising route to construct 3D hierarchically heterogeneous composite aerogels for efficient MA at thin thickness and low loading.

Abstract
Microwave-absorbing materials with wide bandwidth and high absorptivity are increasingly playing an important role in over-the-air (OTA) testing. In this work, a kind of pyramid absorbing material was prepared using flame-retardant absorbers as the filler. In addition, a coating was used to further improve the flame-retardant properties of the microwave-absorbing material. To obtain excellent microwave absorption performance (MWAP), a high-frequency structure simulator (HFSS) was adopted to design structural materials. Here, the total height, the base height, the decapitation height of the pyramid tip, the distance between the pyramids, and other parameters were analyzed; then, the actual processing and molding were realized. The MWAP of -30 dB was achieved at 2.7-18 GHz, and the MWAP of -10 dB was also met at 2-18 GHz. In particular, the study also investigated the MWAP of large angle, which can meet the MWAP of -10 dB at 2-18 GHz and MWAP of -30 dB at 4-18 GHz. Most importantly, the absorption mechanism of the pyramid structure was explored. The influence of the tip was proved by the distribution of the electromagnetic field in the pyramid. It can be regarded as a multilayer microwave-absorbing material due to the impedance gradient of the pyramid, which can provide an effective research idea and method for future engineering applications.

Abstract
Three-dimensional (3D) ordered porous carbon is generally believed to be a promising electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorbing material. However, most research works targeted performance improvement of 3D ordered porous carbon, and the specific attenuation mechanism is still ambiguous. Therefore, in this work, a novel ultra-light egg-derived porous carbon foam (EDCF) structure has been successfully constructed by a simple carbonization combined with the silica microsphere template-etching process. Based on an equivalent substitute strategy, the influence of pore volume and specific surface area on the electromagnetic parameters and EMW absorption properties of the EDCF products was confirmed respectively by adjusting the addition content and diameter of silica microspheres. As a primary attenuation mode, the dielectric loss originates from the comprehensive effect of conduction loss and polarization loss in S-band and C band, and the value is dominated by polarization loss in X band and Ku band, which is obviously greater than that of conduction loss. Furthermore, in all samples, the largest effective absorption bandwidth of EDCF-3 is 7.12 GHz under the thickness of 2.13 mm with the filling content of approximately 5 wt%, covering the whole Ku band. Meanwhile, the EDCF-7 sample with optimized pore volume and specific surface area achieves minimum reflection loss (RLmin) of - 58.08 dB at 16.86 GHz while the thickness is 1.27 mm. The outstanding research results not only provide a novel insight into enhancement of EMW absorption properties but also clarify the dominant dissipation mechanism for the porous carbon-based absorber from the perspective of objective experiments.

Abstract
Electromagnetic (EM) wave absorbing materials play an increasingly important role in modern society for their multi-functional in military stealth and incoming 5G smart era. Dielectric loss EM wave absorbers and underlying loss mechanism investigation are of great significance to unveil EM wave attenuation behaviors of materials and guide novel dielectric loss materials design. However, current researches focus more on materials synthesis rather than in-depth mechanism study. Herein, comprehensive views toward dielectric loss mechanisms including interfacial polarization, dipolar polarization, conductive loss, and defect-induced polarization are provided. Particularly, some misunderstandings and ambiguous concepts for each mechanism are highlighted. Besides, in-depth dielectric loss study and novel dielectric loss mechanisms are emphasized. Moreover, new dielectric loss mechanism regulation strategies instead of regular components compositing are summarized to provide inspiring thoughts toward simple and effective EM wave attenuation behavior modulation.
