Abstract
Levofloxacin (LVX) is difficult to be naturally degraded by microorganisms in water, and its residues in water will pose significant risks to human health and ecological environment. In this study, Bi12O17Cl2 was used as the main body, Bi12O17Cl2/GO/Co3O4 composite photocatalyst was prepared by pyrolysis of zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 (ZIF-67) combined with in-situ precipitation method and used to degrade LVX. A sequence of characterizations shows that addition of Co3O4 and graphene oxide (GO) increases the visible light response range, improves the separation efficiency of photogenerated electrons and holes (e--h+) of photocatalyst, and thus improves the degradation efficiency of LVX. Under the optimal reaction conditions, the LVX degradation rate of Bi12O17Cl2/1.5GO/7.5Co3O4 can reach 91.2 % at 120 min, and its reaction rate constant is the largest (0.0151 min-1), which is 2.17, 13.14 and 1.53 times that of Bi12O17Cl2, Co3O4 and Bi12O17Cl2/7.5Co3O4, respectively, showing better photocatalytic performance. Simultaneously, the recycling stability of Bi12O17Cl2/1.5GO/7.5Co3O4 was also verified. The capture experiments and electron EPR test results showed that superoxide radicals (•O2-) and photogenerated holes (h+) were the primary active substances in the reaction process. Finally, combined with HPLC-MS results, the photocatalytic degradation pathway of LVX was derived. This work will provide a theoretical basis for the design of Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs)-derivative modified Bi12O17Cl2-based photocatalysts.

Abstract
Ferroelectric materials, leveraging an inherent built-in electric field, are excellent in suppressing electron-hole recombination. However, the reliance solely on bulk polarization remains insufficient in enhancing carriers' separation and migration, limiting their practical application in photocatalytic overall water splitting (POWS). To address this, we incorporated cations with ns2 lone pairs (P3+, As3+, Sb3+, and Bi3+) into ferroelectric semiconductors, successfully constructing 44 β-AIBIIIO2 photocatalysts with dual polarization. Through rigorous first-principles calculations and screenings for stability, band characteristics, and polarization, we identified four promising candidates: β-LiSbO2, β-NaSbO2, β-LiBiO2, and β-TlBiO2. Within these materials, lone pairs induce local polarization in the xy-plane. Additionally, out of the plane, there is robust bulk polarization along the z-direction. This synergistic effect of the combined local and bulk polarization significantly improves the separation efficiency of electron-hole pairs. Explicitly, the electron mobility of the four candidates ranges from 105 to 106 cm2 s-1 V-1, while the hole mobility also increases significantly compared to single-phase polarized materials, up to 106 cm2 s-1 V-1. Notably, β-TlBiO2 is predicted to achieve a solar-to-hydrogen (STH) efficiency of 17.2%. This study not only offers insights for water-splitting catalyst screening but also pioneers a path for electron-hole separation through the dual polarization strategy.

Abstract
In this work, different proportions of N-doped carbon quantum dots/porous Co3O4 (NCQDs/p-Co3O4) NCQDs/Co3O4 composite photocatalysts were prepared by a simple self-assembly method. It was demonstrated by a series of characterizations that 50% NCQDs/Co3O4 has a good visible light response and low electrochemical impedance. The photocatalytic degradation of TC was investigated by the 50% NCQDs/p-Co3O4 composite photocatalyst, and the results showed that the degradation effect of TC reached 81.2% within 120 min. The higher photocatalytic activity of 50% NCQDs/p-Co3O4 was analyzed probably because NCQDs can improve the separation efficiency of photogenerated electron-hole pairs and p-Co3O4 can provide a larger specific surface area and thus has more active sites. This study provides a new strategy for improving the photodegradation activity of Co3O4 photocatalysts.

Abstract
Photocatalyst systems generally consist of catalysts and cocatalysts to realize light capture, charge carrier migration, and surface redox reactions. Developing a single photocatalyst that performs all functions while minimizing efficiency loss is extremely challenging. Herein, rod-shaped photocatalysts Co3O4/CoO/Co2P are designed and prepared using Co-MOF-74 as a template, which displays an outstanding H2 generation rate of 6.00 mmol·g-1·h-1 when exposed to visible light irradiation. It is 12.8 times higher than pure Co3O4. Under light excitation, the photoinduced electrons migrate from the catalysts of Co3O4 and CoO to the cocatalyst Co2P. The trapped electrons can subsequently undergo a reduction reaction to produce H2 on the surface. Density functional theory calculations and spectroscopic measurements reveal that enhanced performance results from the extended lifetime of photogenerated carriers and higher charge transfer efficiency. The ingenious structure and interface design presented in this study may guide the general synthesis of metal oxide/metal phosphide homometallic composites for photocatalysis.

Abstract
Cobalt-based catalysts are ideal for CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) due to the strong binding and efficient activation of CO2 molecules on cobalt. However, cobalt-based catalysts also show low free energy of hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), making HER competitive with CO2RR. Therefore, how to improve the product selectivity of CO2RR while maintaining the catalytic efficiency is a great challenge. Here, this work demonstrates the critical roles of the rare earth (RE) compounds (Er2O3 and ErF3) in regulating the activity and selectivity of CO2RR on cobalt. It is found that the RE compounds not only promote charge transfer but also mediate the reaction paths of CO2RR and HER. Density functional theory calculations verify that the RE compounds lower the energy barrier of *CO → CO conversion. On the other hand, the RE compounds increase the free energy of HER, which leads to the suppression of HER. As a result, the RE compounds (Er2O3 and ErF3) improve the CO selectivity of cobalt from 48.8 to 69.6%, as well as significantly increase the turnover number by a factor of over 10.

Abstract
Photocatalysis provides an exciting solution to the current growing energy challenge. However, the activity and stability of photocatalysts are two important issues in photocatalytic applications. In this work, we have successfully developed an efficient and stable photocatalyst by loading ReS2 nanoparticles onto a CdS/ZnS heterojunction. After loading ReS2, there is a strong interaction between the CdS/ZnS heterojunction and ReS2, which accelerates the photogenerated charge migration and effectively inhibits the recombination of photogenerated electrons and holes. Accordingly, CdS/ZnS-ReS2 displays excellent photocatalytic activity and stability with the highest hydrogen production rate of 10 722 μmol g-1 h-1, which is approximately 178 times higher than that of the pure CdS and 5 times better than that of CdS/ZnS. This work not only facilitates solar energy conversion to improve photocatalytic activity and stability but also broadens the application of ReS2 as a cocatalyst.

Abstract
Graphdiyne (GDY) is a new type of carbon allotrope material with a network structure composed of sp- and sp2-hybridized carbon, and its excellent photoelectrochemical properties have an extraordinary impact on energy materials. In this work, a graphite alkyne material was calcined and used as an anchor substrate to fix bimetallic sulfide-zinc-cadmium sulfide to form a phosphorus-doped graphdiyne (GDY-P)/zinc-cadmium sulfide (ZnCdS) heterojunction photocatalyst. The close contact between the 2D/0D binary heterojunction interfaces produced a strong interfacial force, and the final hydrogen evolution rate of the GDY-P/ZnCdS structure reached 10 395.57 μmol g-1 h-1, which was 2.57 and 240 times those of ZnCdS and GDY, respectively. The S-scheme heterojunction constructed by GDY-P and ZnCdS accelerates the formation of electron-hole pairs, improves the utilization of strongly reduced electrons, and overcomes the self-agglomeration of ZnCdS, ensuring the high hydrogen evolution activity of the binary structure. This work provides a new application paradigm for the construction of S-scheme heterojunctions for hydrogen evolution using new carbon materials in the field of photocatalysis.

Abstract
The development of clean energy is one of the effective strategies to solve carbon peak and carbon neutrality. The severe recombination of photogenerated carriers is one of the fundamental reasons that hinder the development of photocatalysis. In this work, NiCo-MOF/ZIF was obtained by the "ZIF on MOF" strategy for the first time, and a stable bonding state of surface P(δ-)-Co/Ni(δ+)-O(δ-) was formed on the surface of the catalyst by a one-step oxidation-phosphorus doping strategy. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy technique proves that phosphorus doping forms a unique bonding state on the surface of CoO-NiO. The novel surface bonding state can effectively inhibit the recombination of photogenerated carriers and can increase the migration rate of photogenerated electrons, which accelerates the process of photocatalytic hydrogen evolution. Photocatalytic hydrogen evolution kinetics verifies that the formation of P(δ-)-Co/Ni(δ+)-O(δ-) bonding states can accelerate the process of photocatalytic hydrogen evolution, and the durability of the catalyst is verified by cycling experiments. This work provides a new strategy for catalyst synthesis, new horizons, and effective strategies for the surface design of catalysts and the development of photocatalytic hydrogen evolution.
