Abstract
α-Silylalkylamines and α-borylalkylamines are versatile synthetic intermediates and attractive scaffolds found in pharmaceutical drugs and agrochemicals. Despite great progress on synthetic methods for preparation of α-silylalkylamines or α-borylalkylamines, there are no general strategies for preparation of α-boryl-α-silylalkylamines and the reactivity has not been explored. Here we report deoxygenative geminal silylboration of amides using silylboronates in the presence of alkoxide base catalyst, producing α-boryl-α-silylalkylamines. The silicon and boron groups in α-boryl-α-silylalkylamines are found to be utilized to chemoselective transformations, such as protonation and alkylation. This protocol serves various α-silylalkylamines and α-borylalkylamines from readily available amides.

Abstract
Graphene-supported organic iridium clusters (GSOICs) have been designed, prepared, characterized, and used for N-alkylation of amines via hydrogen borrowing reactions. Structural analysis data (including IR, XPS, TEM and EDS) show that organoiridium clusters are uniformly formed on the surface of graphene, and the grain size of GSOIC is between 1 and 3 nm. After being activated by the auxiliary ligand TMPP (tris(4-methoxyphenyl)phosphine), GSOIC showed excellent catalytic performance for hydrogen borrowing reaction, with its turnover frequency (TOF) reaching 13.67 h-1. Multi-cycle catalysis shows that the GSOIC/TMPP catalytic system exhibits high stability and reliability, with the turnover number (TON) of each catalytic cycle reaching 328, and the cumulative TON of 10 consecutive catalytic cycles reaching 3280. These systems exhibit excellent N-alkylation for a variety of substrates under one-pot conditions without the need for bases, solvents, and other additives, representing a sustainable and environmentally friendly catalytic reaction strategy.

Abstract
2,5-Disubstituted furans are frequently found in pharmaceuticals and bioactive natural products. Nucleophilic substitution reactions on the carbon atom adjacent to the furan ring are useful for producing various furan derivatives. However, the formation of 5-substituted 2-halomethylfuran and the subsequent nucleophilic substitution reactions are often limited by severe undesired reactions caused by the highly reactive halomethylfurans. This paper reports the successful rapid synthesis of various 2,5-disubstituted furans using microflow technology, which suppresses undesired reactions including dimerization and ring opening of the furans. We observed that Brønsted acids had a significant effect on the nucleophilic substitution reaction and the use of HBr and HI gave the best results. A plausible mechanism of the Brønsted acid-mediated nucleophilic substitutions in the developed approach was proposed.

Abstract
Herein, we report a heterogeneous visible light-driven preparation of α-alkylated glycine derivatives. This approach employed a β-ketoenamine-linked covalent organic framework (2D-COF-4) as the heterogeneous photocatalyst and N-hydroxy phthalimide (NHPI) esters as the alkyl radical sources. Numerous glycine derivatives, including dipeptides, were precisely and efficiently alkylated under visible light-driven reaction conditions. Based on the excellent photoactivity and organic reaction compatibility of 2D-COF-4, this alkylation could proceed flexibly in a green solvent (ethanol) without any other additives. The photocatalyst and phthalimide were fruitfully recycled with a simple workup procedure, revealing a high ecoscale value and low environmental factor (E-factor).

Abstract
Dinuclear iridium complexes with the general formula (C^N)2Ir(μ-Cl)2Ir(C^N)2 (C^N = bidentate ligand with carbon and nitrogen donor atoms) were prepared and used in catalytic systems for N-alkylation of amines through the hydrogen borrowing pathway. Triphenylphosphine derivatives were used as auxiliary in catalytic systems to provide excellent conversion of amines to N-alkylation products in yields ranging from 57% to 100%. The catalytic ability of the catalyst depends on the structure of its coordination ligands, including bidentate ligands (C^N) and triphenylphosphine derivatives. These catalytic systems adopt an environmentally friendly and sustainable reaction process through a hydrogen self-transfer strategy, using readily available alcohols as alkylating agents without the need for bases, solvents, and other additives, showing potential in the synthetic and pharmaceutical industries.

Abstract
A mild and regiodivergent aminoalkylation of unactivated alkyl halides is disclosed via a dual photoredox/nickel catalysis. Bipyridyl-type ligands without an ortho-substituent control the site-selective coupling at the original position, while ortho-disubstituted ligands tune the site-selectivity at a remote, unprefunctionalized position. Mechanistic studies combined with DFT calculations give insight into the mechanism and the origins of the ligand-controlled regioselectivity. Notably, this redox-neutral, regiodivergent alkyl-alkyl coupling features mild conditions, broad substrate scope for both alkyl coupling partners, and excellent site-selectivity and offers a straightforward way for α-alkylation of tertiary amines to synthesize structurally diverse alkylamines and value-added amino acid derivatives.

Abstract
An additive-free, visible light-driven annulation between N-aryl amino acids and maleimide to form tetrahydroquinolines (THQs) is disclosed. Photochemical activation of an electron donor-acceptor (EDA) complex between amino acids and maleimides drives the reaction, and aerobic oxygen acts as the terminal oxidant in the net oxidative process. A range of N-aryl amino acids and maleimides have been investigated as substrates to furnish the target THQ in good to excellent yield. Mechanistic investigations, including titration and UV-vis studies, demonstrate the key role of the EDA complex as the photoactive species.

Abstract
The exploration of 1,2-radical shift (RS) mechanisms in photoinduced organic reactions has provided efficient routes for the generation of important radical synthons in many chemical transformations. In this Review, the basic concepts involved in the traditional 1,2-spin-center shift (SCS) mechanisms in recently reported studies are discussed. In addition, other useful 1,2-RSs are addressed, such as those proceeding through 1,2-group migrations in carbohydrate chemistry, via 1,2-boron shifts, and by the generation of α-amino radicals. The discussion begins with a general overview of the basic aspects of 1,2-RS mechanisms, followed by a demonstration of their applicability in photoinduced transformations. The sections that follow are organized according to the mechanisms operating in combination with the 1,2-radical migration event. This contribution is not a comprehensive review but rather aims to provide an understanding of the topic, focused on the more recent advances in the field, and establishes a definition for the nomenclature that has been used to describe such mechanisms.

Abstract
Visible-light-driven organic transformation photocatalyzed by metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) under mild conditions is considered a feasible route to conserve energy and simplify synthesis. Herein, a light-sensitized, three-dimensional uranyl-organic framework (HNU-64) with twofold interpenetration and its derivatives HNU-64-CH3 and HNU-64-Cl with functionalized ligands of -CH3 and -Cl groups were obtained. These MOFs have broad optical absorption bands and suitable band energy levels in photooxidation, which makes them exhibit high activity and selectivity for the photooxidation of benzylamine to N-benzylbenzoimide under mild conditions. This work provides an efficient and simple synthetic option for oxidative coupling of amines to directly produce imines.

Abstract
α-Branched amines are fundamental building blocks in a variety of natural products and pharmaceuticals. Herein is reported a unique cascade reaction that enables the preparation of α-branched amines bearing aryl or alkyl groups at the β- or γ-positions. The cascade is initiated by reduction of redox active esters to alkyl radicals. The resulting alkyl radicals are trapped by styrene derivatives, leading to benzylic radicals. The persistent 2-azaallyl radicals and benzylic radicals are proposed to undergo a radical-radical coupling leading to functionalized amine products. Evidence is provided that the role of the nickel catalyst is to promote formation of the alkyl radical from the redox active ester and not promote the C-C bond formation. The synthetic method introduced herein tolerates a variety of imines and redox active esters, allowing for efficient construction of amine building blocks.

Abstract
Redox-sensitive functionalities such as aliphatic amines with low oxidation potentials and easily oxidized by photocatalysts are generally not compatible with photocatalytic reactions. We describe a hydrogen-bond-assisted visible-light-mediated [2+2] cycloaddition of redox-sensitive aliphatic-amine-containing indole derivatives providing a range of cyclobutane-fused polycyclic indoline derivatives, especially bridged-cyclic indolines. Mechanistic studies indicated that the success of the reaction was based on on the formation of H-bonds between the N-atom and alcohol proton of TFE or HFIP, with this formation preventing or blocking the single-electron transfer from the aliphatic amine functionality to the excited photocatalyst.

Abstract
Herein, we demonstrated an efficient protocol for reductive alkylation of azides/nitro compounds via a borrowing hydrogen (BH) method. By following this protocol, selective mono- and dialkylated amines were obtained under mild and solvent-free conditions. A series of control experiments and deuterium-labeling experiments were performed to understand this catalytic process. Mechanistic studies suggested that the Ir(III)-H was the active intermediate in this reaction. KIE study revealed that the breaking of the C-H bond of alcohol might be the rate-limiting step. Notably, this solvent-free strategy disclosed a high TON of around 5600. Based on kinetic studies and control experiments, a metal-ligand cooperative mechanism was proposed.
