Abstract
The lack of mode for chirality recognition makes it particularly challenging to carry out asymmetric transformations on E/Z-mixed minimally functionalized trisubstituted alkenes. Here, we report a catalytic enantioconvergent hydroboration of minimally functionalized trisubstituted E/Z-mixed alkenes to construct chiral organoboronic esters with excellent enantioselectivity using chiral radical cobalt catalyst. This C(sp3)-H borylation protocol showed good functional group tolerance and products could be converted to valuable compounds via C-B derivatizations. The mechanistic studies, which included control experiments, nonlinear effect experiments, deuterated labeling experiments, and X-ray diffraction, demonstrated that the favorable compatibility between the thermodynamically unfavorable isomerization and hydroboration was the key factor in achieving convergent transformation.

Abstract
An operationally simple and green protocol using a NiSO4·6H2O/cationic 2,2'-bipyridyl ligand system as a water-soluble catalyst for the coupling of arylboronic acids with (2-haloallyl)phosphonates and (2-haloallyl)sulfones in water under air was developed. The reaction was performed at 120 °C with arylboronic acids (2 mmol) and (2-haloallyl)phosphonates or sulfones (1 mmol) in the presence of 5 mol % of the Ni catalytic system in a basic aqueous solution for 1 h, giving the corresponding 2-aryl allyl phosphonates or sulfones in good to excellent yields. This reaction features the use of an abundant transition metal as a catalyst in water and exhibits high functional group tolerance, rendering it an eco-friendly procedure.

Abstract
Rh-catalyzed asymmetric hydroboration of enol carbamates yields α-boryl carbamates in good enantioselectivity. The enol carbamate starting materials can be prepared with moderate Z selectivity using a modified Juila olefination and used as an E/Z mixture, taking advantage of the faster reactivity of the major Z isomer in the directed hydroboration. Optically active α-boryl carbamates participate in a Matteson-type homologation with Grignard reagents in which the O-carbamate is substituted with high conservation of optical activity to provide enantioenriched secondary boronic esters.

Abstract
Furan ring opening reactions are essential in organic synthesis, enabling the incorporation of diverse functional groups and the construction of complex molecular structures. A highly efficient and practical method for synthesizing 2,5-dicarbonyl-3-ene-phosphates from readily available biomass furan and dialkyl phosphonates is reported. The reaction, catalyzed by FeCl3, demonstrated wide substrate scope and high synthetic efficiency. Gram-scale synthesis was achieved, and a one-pot reaction provided a quick access route to the desired compounds. Additionally, a successful Diels-Alder reaction highlighted the versatility of the methodology.

Abstract
Synthesis of chiral phosphorus compounds from readily available substrates by a facile method is an attractive strategy. In this study, an efficient route for copper-catalyzed asymmetric boroprotonation of phosphinylallenes with bis(pinacolato)diboron with high regioselectivity was developed, affording chiral allylphosphine oxides in high yields with high enantioselectivities of up to 98% ee. The synthetic utility was further demonstrated by the facile transformation of the chiral allylphosphine oxides to several stereospecific products.

Abstract
Conformationally flexible ancillary ligands have been widely used in transition metal catalysis. However, the benefits of using flexible ligands are often not well understood. We performed density functional theory (DFT) and experimental studies to elucidate the mechanisms and the roles of conformationally flexible α,α,α',α'-tetraaryldioxolane-4,5-dimethanol (TADDOL)-derived ligands on the reactivity and selectivity in the Rh-catalyzed asymmetric hydroboration (CAHB) of alkenes. DFT calculations and deuterium labeling studies both indicated that the most favorable reaction pathway involves an unusual tertiary C-B bond reductive elimination to give high levels of regio- and enantioselectivities. Here, the asymmetric construction of the fully substituted carbon center is promoted by the flexibility of the TADDOL backbone, which leads to two ligand conformations with distinct steric environments in different steps of the catalytic cycle. A pseudo-chair ligand conformation is preferred in the rate-determining tertiary benzylic C-B reductive elimination. The less hindered steric environment with this conformation allows the benzylic group to bind to the Rh center in an η3 fashion, which stabilizes the C-B reductive elimination transition state. On the other hand, a pseudo-boat ligand conformation is involved in the selectivity-determining alkene migratory insertion step, where the more anisotropic steric environment leads to greater ligand-substrate steric interactions to control the π-facial selectivity. Thus, using a conformationally flexible ligand is beneficial for enhancing both reactivity and enantioselectivity by controlling ligand-substrate interactions in two different elementary steps.

Abstract
Regiocontrol in the rhodium-catalyzed boration of vinyl arenes is typically dominated by the presence of the conjugated aryl substituent. However, small differences in TADDOL-derived chiral monophosphite ligands can override this effect and direct rhodium-catalyzed hydroboration of β-aryl and β-heteroaryl methylidenes by pinacolborane to selectively produce either chiral primary or tertiary borated products. The regiodivergent behavior is coupled with enantiodivergent addition of the borane. The nature of the TADDOL backbone substituents and that of the phosphite moiety function synergistically to direct the sense and extent of regioselectivity and enantioinduction. Twenty substrates are shown to undergo each reaction mode with regioselectivity values reaching greater than 20:1 and enantiomer ratios reaching up to 98:2. A variety of subsequent transformations illustrate the potential utility of each product.

Abstract
Allylic and homoallylic phosphonates bearing an aryl or heteroaryl substituent at the γ- or δ-position undergo rhodium-catalyzed asymmetric hydroboration by pinacolborane to give functionalized chiral secondary benzylic boronic esters in yields up to 86% and enantiomer ratios up to 99 : 1. Compared to minimally-functionalized terminal and 1,1-disubstituted vinyl arenes, there are relatively few reports of efficient catalytic asymmetric hydroboration (CAHB) of more highly functionalized internal alkenes. Phosphonate substrates bearing a variety of common heterocyclic ring systems, including furan, indole, pyrrole and thiophene derivatives, as well as those bearing basic nitrogen substituents (e.g., morpholine and pyrazine) are tolerated, although donor substituents positioned in close proximity of the alkene can influence the course of the reaction. Stereoisomeric (E)- and (Z)-substrates afford the same major enantiomer of the borated product. Deuterium-labelling studies reveal that rapid (Z)- to (E)-alkene isomerization accounts for the observed (E/Z)-stereoconvergence during CAHB. The synthetic utility of the chiral boronic ester products is illustrated by stereospecific C-B bond transformations including stereoretentive electrophile promoted 1,2-B-to-C migrations, stereoinvertive SE2 reactions of boron-ate complexes with electrophiles, and stereoretentive palladium- and rhodium-catalyzed cross-coupling protocols.
