Abstract
We have developed a straightforward and rapid methodology for the synthesis of tetrasubstituted allenes bearing carboxylic acids in the 1,3-position through the gold(I)-catalyzed nucleophilic addition of bis(trimethylsilyl)ketene acetals to ynones. The reaction was evaluated with several substrates, and 21 allenes were obtained in moderate to good yields. Using DFT calculations, we studied the mechanism of the reaction, which suggested a nucleophilic 1,4-addition pathway. The potential of allenes to act as a source of highly functionalized lactones was also explored.

Abstract
Divergent synthesis of α-C-H methylated pyrazines and pyrazinones using dimethyl sulfoxide as a nonconventional methylating agent under metal-free conditions was reported. Dimethyl sulfoxide-coordinated bromine cation pools generated from the treatment of dimethyl sulfoxide and 1,2-dibromoethane undergo Pummerer-type fragmentation to afford an electrophilic methyl(methylene)sulfonium ion for reaction with a carbon nucleophile followed by aromatization to afford α-methylated pyrazines and pyrazinones.

Abstract
Herein, we present an interesting method for the construction of a benzene ring using propargylic alcohols and 1,3-dicarbonyls, which involves three new C-C bond formations via cascade alkylation, formylation, annulation, and aromatization to make substituted biaryls. This one-pot Brønsted acid-promoted protocol utilizes the unique reactivity of the acetal formed under the reaction conditions. Alkynyl methyl ketones could be employed instead of 1,3-dicarbonyls as they are converted to 1,3-dicarbonyls by hydration under the reaction conditions.

Abstract
A highly efficient and stable novel class of allenic-Ugi products through a Crabbé homologation reaction is successfully demonstrated. Then, a regio- and chemo-selective cyclization of allenic-Ugi derivatives in a 5-exo-dig fashion to access 3-pyrroline skeletons is developed. Also, computational studies were performed and explained to provide insights into the reaction mechanism. This approach displays high bond-forming efficiency and atom economy with high yields.
