Abstract
A practical C3 sulfenylation of indoles has been accomplished using arenediazonium tosylates and sodium metabisulfite, with a key role of iodine/DMF combination in the reaction. The method involves scarce use of sodium metabisulfite as a divalent sulfur source and offers an array of structurally diverse 3-arylthioindoles in high yields under operationally simple transition-metal-free and mild conditions.

Abstract
An attractive approach for the preparation of spirocyclic benzofuran-furocoumarins has been developed through iodine-catalyzed cascade annulation of 4-hydroxycoumarins with aurones. The reaction involves Michael addition, iodination, and intramolecular nucleophilic substitution in a one-step process, and offers an efficient method for easy access to a series of valuable spirocyclic benzofuran-furocoumarins in good yields (up to 99%) with excellent stereoselectivity. Moreover, this unprecedented protocol provides several advantages, including readily available materials, an environmentally benign catalyst, a broad substrate scope, and a simple procedure.

Abstract
A palladium-catalyzed direct C-H arylation of indolines at C-7 position has been achieved at near-ambient temperature. The reaction was carried out with aryltriazene as a stable aryl source and electron shuttle to sustainably release aryl radical in situ under the action of promoter, and pyrimidine as a detachable directing group for the synthesis of 7-arylindolines under oxidant- and ligand-free conditions. Notably, this catalytic system can also be applied to the direct and site-selective arylation of tetrahydroquinolines (C-8) and carbazoles (C-1).

Abstract
We have developed a protocol for the synthesis of diaryl thio-/selenoethers by the reaction of aryl chalcogenocyanates with electron rich arenes/hetero arenes via HFIP promoted C-H activation. The reaction produces chalcogenides in good to excellent yields under mild conditions without the need of a transition metal as a catalyst. The HFIP-mediated reactions tolerated a wide range of functional groups and set the stage for the synthesis of diversely decorated chalcogenides. A mechanism involving activation of the C-H bond through hydrogen bonding is proposed.

Abstract
The construction of a C-S bond is a powerful strategy for the synthesis of sulfur containing compounds including sulfides, sulfoxides, and sulfones. Recent methodological developments have revealed lots of novel protocols for C-S bond formation, providing easy access to sulfur containing compounds. Unlike traditional Ullmann typed C-S coupling reaction, the recently developed reactions frequently use non-halide compounds, such as diazo compounds and simple arenes/alkanes instead of aryl halides as substrates. On the other hand, novel C-S coupling reaction pathways involving thiyl radicals have emerged as an important strategy to construct C-S bonds. In this review, we focus on the recent advances on the synthesis of sulfides, sulfoxides, and sulfones from non-halide substrates involving C-S bond construction.

Abstract
The combined Lewis acid catalytic system, generated from molecular iodine and tritylium tetrafluoroborate effectively catalyzed the Friedel-Crafts (FC) arylation of diarylmethyl sulfides providing an efficient access to various unsymmetrical triarylmethanes. The addition of tritylium and iodine created a more active catalytic system to promote the cleavage of sulfidic C-S bonds.
