Abstract
Due to the unique properties of steel, including its hardness, durability, and superconductivity, which make it an essential material in many industries, it lacks corrosion resistance. Herewith, two novel triazole-thione Schiff bases, namely, (E)-5-methyl-4-((thiophen-2-ylmethylene)amino)-2,4-dihydro-3H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thione (TMAT) and (E)-4-(((5-(dimethylamino)thiophen-2-yl)methylene)amino)-5-methyl-2,4-dihydro-3H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thione (DMTMAT), were synthesized and characterized. The corrosion inhibition (CI) ability of these two molecules on carbon steel in an aqueous solution of 1 M HCl as well as their interaction with its surface was studied using a number of different techniques. The results confirmed that the CI capability of these organic molecules depends on their strong adsorption on the metal surface and the formation of a protective anticorrosion film. Weight loss tests revealed that the inhibition efficiencies of TMAT and DMTMAT were 91.1 and 94.0%, respectively, at 1 × 10-3 M concentrations. The results of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) indicated that there was a direct relationship between the inhibitor concentration and the transfer resistance. Potentiodynamic polarization (PDP) experiments have proven to be mixed-type inhibitors of C-steel in aqueous hydrochloric acid solution and follow the Langmuir adsorption isotherm model. Several thermodynamic and kinetic parameters were calculated. The negative values of the adsorption-free energy are -36.7 and -38.5 kJ/mol for TMAT and DMTMAT, respectively, confirming the spontaneity of the adsorption process. The MD simulation study's findings show that the inhibitor molecules are nearly parallel to the metal surface. The interaction energy calculated by the MD simulation and the inhibitory trend are the same. The practical implementation is consistent with what the computer models predicted.

Abstract
The adsorption activity and inhibition effect of Eruca sativa seed extract as a green inhibitor for the dissolution of carbon steel in 1 M hydrochloric acid solution were investigated. In this study, we used a chemical technique (gravimetric method), electrochemical techniques, electrical frequency modulation (EFM), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization techniques, and theoretical studies. In addition to these techniques, we examined the surface morphology of the carbon steel utilizing different methods. The measurements of the polarization technique indicate that this extract acts as a mixed-type inhibitor. Thermodynamic parameters were calculated and discussed. The adsorption of Eruca sativa seed extracts on the alloy obeys the Langmuir and Henry adsorption isotherms. The extract gives an excellent inhibition efficiency 94.8% by a gravimetric method at 0.3 g L-1 from the extract. The relationship between the calculated % IE from experiments and the theoretical studies was established.

Abstract
1-Benzyl-3-phenyl-2-thiourea (BPTU) was studied as a steel corrosion inhibitor in 1.0 M HCl solution. Experimental methods were conducted including potentiodynamic polarization measurement (PPM), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. Quantum calculations were performed at B3LYP/6-311G(d,p). Hexamethylenetetramine (URO) was selected for comparison with BPTU. The results showed that BPTU with the concentration of 2 × 10−4 M and at the temperature of 30°C could protect the steel surface with the highest inhibition efficiency of 94.99% and 94.30% according to EIS and PPM, respectively. High temperature decreased BPTU’s ability to inhibit the steel corrosion. The adsorption of BPTU on the steel surface is followed by the modified Langmuir isotherm. Quantum chemical calculations showed that the thiourea functional group is the main adsorption center of BPTU. The experimental results are completely consistent with theoretical calculations.

Abstract
N′-(adamantan-2-ylidene)hydrazinecarbothiohydrazide and 2-(ferrocenyl-1-ylidene) hydrazinecarbothiohydrazide are used in coordination and organometallic complexes. The important idea of the research in this paper is the principal to prepare thiocarbohydrazones from the reaction of 2-acetylferrocene (Fe-Th) or 2-adamantanone (Ad-Th) with carbonothioic dihydrazide. The materials were elucidated by elemental analysis and spectral data. The as-prepared compounds were applied as effective corrosion inhibitors for HCl pickling of C-steel. Detailed investigations on electrochemical (open circuit potential (OCP) vs. time, potentiodynamic polarization (PDP), and impedance spectroscopy (EIS)) techniques and surface morphology studies are introduced in this work. Results indicated that Fe-Th could deliver greater inhibition performance than Ad-Th, and the highest protection capacity values of 93.6% (Ad-Th) and 97.9% (Fe-Th) were accomplished at 200 ppm. The adsorption of Ad-Th or Fe-Th additives followed the Langmuir isotherm with both the chemical and the physical adsorption with chemisorption predominance. EIS measurements supported a betterment in the capacitive behavior with the corrosion inhibitors. The inhibitors exhibited a mixed-type behavior as observed from the PDP studies. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) studies emphasize the occurrence of a protective layer of the as-synthesized organic inhibitors on the C-steel interface. Theoretical studies (density functional theory (DFT) calculations and Monte Carlo (MC) simulations) provide appropriate support for the experimental findings. The existing report provides very significant consequences in formulating and designing novel thiocarbohydrazone inhibitors with high protection efficacy.

Abstract
1,3-Diphenyl-2-thiourea (DPTU) and 1-phenyl-3-(2-pyridyl)-2-thiourea (PPTU) were selected as the researched subject for investigating the effect of heteroatoms on the low carbon steel corrosion inhibition ability. Results from the potentiodynamic polarization measurements (PPM) indicate that the addition of a nitrogen atom in the benzene ring increases the corrosion inhibition efficiency of PPTU (97.2%), being higher than that of DPTU (93.1%) at the same condition of 2.0 × 10-4 M at 30 °C. The Nyquist diagrams show that increasing the concentrations of both DPTU and PPTU will enhance the charge-transfer resistance and reduce the double-layer capacitance. The obtained data based on PPM and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy methods are in accordance to the analysis based on the scanning electrochemical microscopy images. Besides, results from quantum chemical calculations prove that the heteroatoms in the inhibitor molecules are the adsorption centers, and the benzene rings increase the electrostatic interaction between the inhibitor molecules and the steel surface. Results from Monte Carlo and molecular dynamics simulation have clarified the adsorption mechanism of DPTU and PPTU on the steel surface. Adsorption energies confirm that PPTU displays the higher inhibition ability as compared with DPTU.

Abstract
The corrosion inhibition ability of 1-phenyl-2-thiourea (PTU) and 1,3-diisopropyl-2-thiourea (ITU) for mild steel in 1.0 M hydrochloric was studied by using the potentiodynamic polarization (PDP) curves, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), quantum chemical calculations, and Monte Carlo simulations. Conditions which influence the capacity of corrosion inhibition including concentration, structure of thiourea derivatives, and environment temperature were taken into investigation. The highest inhibition efficiencies of PTU and ITU are 98.96 and 92.65% at a concentration of 5 × 10-3 M at 60 °C. In fact, corrosion inhibition ability of PTU is better than that of ITU in acidic solution due to the presence of the benzene ring of PTU. EIS data are very well correlated with PDP results. In addition, the higher inhibition performance with enhancing temperature and the values of ΔG 0 indicated that PTU and ITU participate in chemical adsorption on the metal surface. Their adsorption process on the metal surface follow the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Both experimental and theoretical results in this study are in good agreement.
