Abstract
The Ph3 PAu(+) cation, renowned as an isolobal analogue of H(+) , was found to serve as a proton surrogate and form a stable Au2 Fe2 complex, [(μ-SAuPPh3 )2 {Fe(CO)3 }2 ], analogous to the highly reactive dihydrosulfide [(μ-SH)2 {Fe(CO)3 }2 ]. Solid-state X-ray diffraction analysis found the two SAuPPh3 and SH bridges in anti configurations. VT NMR studies, supported by DFT computations, confirmed substantial barriers of approximately 25 kcal mol(-1) to intramolecular interconversion between the three stereoisomers of [(μ-SH)2 {Fe(CO)3 }2 ]. In contrast, the largely dative SAu bond in μ-SAuPPh3 facilitates inversion at S and accounts for the facile equilibration of the SAuPPh3 units, with an energy barrier half that of the SH analogue. The reactivity of the gold-protected sulfur atoms of [(μ-SAuPPh3 )2 {Fe(CO)3 }2 ] was accessed by release of the gold ligand with a strong acid to generate the [(μ-SH)2 {Fe(CO)3 }2 ] precursor of the [FeFe]H2 ase-active-site biomimetic [(μ2 -SCH2 (NR)CH2 S){Fe(CO)3 }2 ].

Abstract
We report the syntheses, electronic properties, and molecular structures of a series of mono- and dinuclear uranium(iv) hydrochalcogenido complexes supported by the sterically demanding but very flexible, single N-anchored tris(aryloxide) ligand (AdArO)3N)3-. The mononuclear complexes [((AdArO)3N)U(DME)(EH)] (E = S, Se, Te) can be obtained from the reaction of the uranium(iii) starting material [((AdArO)3N)UIII(DME)] in DME via reduction of H2E and the elimination of 0.5 equivalents of H2. The dinuclear complexes [{((AdArO)3N)U}2(μ-EH)2] can be obtained by dissolving their mononuclear counterparts in non-coordinating solvents such as benzene. In order to facilitate the work with the highly toxic gases, we created concentrated THF solutions that can be handled using simple glovebox techniques and can be stored at -35 °C for several weeks.

Abstract
Novel dicyanido-bridged dicationic RuIIISSRuIII complexes [{Ru(P(OCH3)3)2}2(mu-S2)(mu-X)2{mu-m-C6H4(CH2CN)2}](CF3SO3)2 (4, X=Cl, Br) were synthesized by the abstraction of the two terminal halide ions of [{RuX(P(OCH3)3)2}2(mu-S2)(mu-X)2] (1, X=Cl, Br) followed by treatment with m-xylylenedicyanide. 4 reacted with 2,3-dimethylbutadiene to give the C4S2 ring-bridged complex [{Ru(P(OCH3)3)2}2{mu-SCH2C(CH3)=C(CH3)CH2S}(mu-X)2{mu-m-C6H4(CH2CN)2}](CF3SO3)2 (6, X=Cl, Br). In addition, 4 reacted with 1-alkenes in CH3OH to give alkenyl disulfide complexes [{Ru(P(OCH3)3)2}2{mu-SS(CH2C=CHR)}(mu-Cl)2{mu-m-C6H4(CH2CN)2}](CF3SO3) (7: R=CH2CH3, 9: R=CH2CH2CH3) and alkenyl methyl disulfide complexes [{Ru(P(OCH3)3)2}2{mu-S(CH3)S(CH2C=HR)}(mu-Cl)2{mu-m-C6H4(CH2CN)2}](CF3SO3)2 (8: R=CH2CH3, 10: R=CH2CH2CH3) via the activation of an allylic C-H bond followed by the elimination of H+ or condensation with CH3OH. Additionally, the reaction of 4 with 3-penten-1-ol gave [{Ru(P(OCH3)3)2}2{mu-SS(CH2C=CHCH2OH)}(mu-Cl)2{mu-m-C6H4(CH2CN)2}](CF3SO3) (11) via the elimination of H+ and [{Ru(P(OCH3)3)2}2(mu-SCH2CH=CHCH2S)(mu-Cl)2{mu-m-C6H4(CH2CN)2}](CF3SO3)2 (12) via the intramolecular elimination of a H2O molecule. 12 was exclusively obtained from the reaction of 4 with 4-bromo-1-butene.

Abstract
Reactions of Pt(diimine)(tdt) (tdt =3,4-toluenedithiolate) with [M(2)(dppm)(2)(MeCN)(2)](2+) (M = Cu(I) or Ag(I), dppm = bis(diphenylphosphino)methane) gave heterotrinuclear complexes [PtCu(2)(tdt)(mu-SH)(dppm)(3)](ClO(4)) (1) and [PtCu(2)(diimine)(2)(tdt)(dppm)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (diimine = 2,2'-bpyridine (bpy) 2; 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine (dmbpy) 3; phenanthroline (phen) 4, 5-bromophenanthroline (Brphen) 5) for M = Cu(I), but [PtAg(2)(tdt)(mu-SH)(dppm)(3)](SbF(6)) (6) and [PtAg(2)(diimine)(tdt)(dppm)(2)](SbF(6))(2) (diimine = bpy 7; dmbpy 8; phen 9; Brphen 10) for M = Ag(I). While the complexes [PtAg(2)(diimine)(tdt)(dppm)(2)](SbF(6))(2) (7-10) result from linkage of Pt(diimine)(tdt) and [M(2)(dppm)(2)(MeCN)(2)](2+) by tdt sulfur donors, formation of [PtCu(2)(diimine)(2)(tdt)(dppm)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (2-5) is related to rupture of metal-ligand bonds in the metal components and recombination between the ligands and the metal atoms by self-assembly. The formation of 1 and 6 is involved not only in dissociation and recombination of the metal components, but also in disruption of C-S bonds in the dithiolate (tdt). The dithiolate tdt adopts a chelating and bridging coordination mode in anti conformation for [PtCu(2)(diimine)(2)(tdt)(dppm)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (2-5), whereas there is the syn conformation for other complexes. Compounds 1 and 6 represent sparse examples of mu-SH-bridged heterotrinuclear Pt(II)M(I)(2) complexes, in which Pt(II)-M(I) centers are bridged by dppm and sulfur donors of tdt, whereas M(I)-M(I) (M = Cu for 1; Ag for 6) centers are linked by dppm and the mu-SH donor. The (31)P NMR spectra show typical platinum satellites (J(Pt-P) = 1450-1570 Hz) for 1-6 and Ag-P coupling for Pt(II)-Ag(I) (J(Ag-P) = 350-450 Hz) complexes 6-10. All of the complexes show intense emission in the solid state and in frozen glasses at 77 K. The complexes [PtAg(2)(diimine)(tdt)(dppm)(2)](SbF(6))(2) (7-10) also afford emission in fluid acetonitrile solutions at room temperature. Solid-state emission lifetimes at room temperature are in the microsecond range. It is revealed that emission energies of the trinuclear heterometallic complexes [PtAg(2)(diimine)(tdt)(dppm)(2)](SbF(6))(2) (7-10) exhibit a remarkable blue shift (0.10-0.35 eV) relative to those of the precursor compounds Pt(diimine)(tdt). The crystal structures of 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 9 were determined by X-ray crystallography.

Abstract
Mononuclear palladium hydroxo complexes of the type [Pd(N[bond]N)(C(6)F(5))(OH)] [(N[bond]N = 2,2'-bipyridine (bipy), 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine (Me(2)bipy), 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), or N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine (tmeda)] have been prepared by reaction of [Pd(N[bond]N)(C(6)F(5))(acetone)]ClO(4) with KOH in methanol. These hydroxo complexes react, in methanol, with CO (1 atm, room temperature) to yield the corresponding methoxycarbonyl complexes [Pd(N[bond]N)(C(6)F(5))(CO(2)Me)]. Similar alkoxycarbonyl complexes [Pd(N[bond]N)(C(6)F(5))(CO(2)R)] (N[bond]N = bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)methane); R = Me, Et, or (i)Pr) are obtained when [Pd(N[bond]N)(C(6)F(5))Cl] is treated with KOH in the corresponding alcohol ROH and CO is bubbled through the solution. The reactions of [Pd(N[bond]N)(C(6)F(5))(OH)] (N[bond]N = bipy or Me(2)bipy) with CO(2), in tetrahydrofuran, lead to the formation of the binuclear carbonate complexes [(N[bond]N)(C(6)F(5))Pd(mu-eta(2)-CO(3))Pd(C(6)F(5))(N[bond]N)]. Complexes [Pd(N[bond]N)(C(6)F(5))(OH)] react in alcohol with PhNCS to yield the corresponding N-phenyl-O-alkylthiocarbamate complexes [Pd(N[bond]N)(C(6)F(5))[SC(OR)NPh]]. Similarly, the reaction of [Pd(bipy)(C(6)F(5))(OH)] with PhNCO in methanol gives the N-phenyl-O-methylcarbamate complex [Pd(bipy)(C(6)F(5))[NPhC(O)OR]]. The reactions of [(N[bond]N)Pd(C(6)F(5))(OH)] with PhNCS in the presence of Et(2)NH yield the corresponding thioureidometal complexes [Pd(N[bond]N)(C(6)F(5))[NPhCSNR(2)]]. The crystal structures of [Pd(tmeda)(C(6)F(5))(CO(2)Me)], [Pd(2)(Me(2)bipy)(2)(C(6)F(5))(2)(mu-eta(2)-CO(3))].2CH(2)Cl(2), and [Pd(tmeda)(C(6)F(5))[SC(OMe)NPh]] have been determined.
