Synthesis, Molecular, and Supramolecular Structures of Two Azide-Bridged Cd(II) and Cu(II) Coordination Polymers. Symmetry (Basel) 2023. Abstract
Two 1D coordination polymers were synthesized by reaction of two ligands, 2-amino-4-picoline (2A4Pic) and quinoline-6-carboxylic acid (Qu-6-COOH) with two metal (II) nitrate (M = Cd and Cu) in the presence of azide as a linker. The synthesized metal complexes [Cd(2A4Pic)2(N3)2]n; (1) and [Cu(Qu-6-COO)(N3)(H2O)]n; (2) were isolated in single crystals and their X-ray structures revealed a 1D polymeric structure. Due to symmetry considerations, the asymmetric formula is half a [Cd(2A4Pic)2(N3)2] unit for 1 and one [Cu(Qu-6-COO)(N3)(H2O)] unit for 2. In complex 1, the Cd(II) is hexa-coordinated with two 2A4Pic molecules and four μ(1,1) azide units. Hence, the CdN6 coordination environment has a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. In 2, the Cu(II) is hexa-coordinated with three different ligands (Qu-6-COO¯, H2O and μ(1,1) N3¯) where all are connectors between the crystallographically related Cu(II) sites. Additionally, complex 2 distorted CuN2O4 octahedral geometry. In both complexes, the polymer arrays are connected by N…H hydrogen bonds and π–π stacking interactions. Based on Hirshfeld analysis, the percentages of N…H contacts are 43.1 and 27.4% for 1 and 2, respectively, while %C...C are 5.6 and 9.3%, respectively. Analysis of Cu-N, Cu-O, and Cd-N bonds using DFT calculations showed predominantly closed-shell coordination interactions with little covalent characters. Additionally, the negatively charged ligand groups were found to compensate the positive charge of the central metal ion to a larger extent than the electrically neutral ligands.

Abstract
Based on density functional theory and the broken-symmetry approach, the magnetic properties of an azido-Cu(II) complex with isonicotinic acid coligands were studied at the B1LYP/def2-TZVP level. According to the molecular magnetic orbitals and Mulliken spin population analysis, there are strong orbital interactions between the paramagnetic CuII/NiII ions and the bridging azide ligands and isonicotinic ions. The supposedly empty 4s/4p/4d orbitals of the MII ions are found to play an important role in the mechanism of magnetic coupling and are probed using NBO analysis. As the number of unpaired electrons on the MII ions increases, the number of electrons that occupy the empty 4d orbitals with the highest energy and overlap integrals of the magnetic orbitals in the CuIIMII (M = Cu, Ni, Co, Fe, Mn) model complexes increases accordingly, and the magnetic coupling constant gradually decreases.

Abstract
Three chiral manganese(III) Schiff-base complexes [Mn(R,R-Salcy)(CH3OH)(N3)], [Mn(S,S-Salcy)(DMF)(N3)] (both monomers by X-structure determination) and the trinuclear complex (X-ray structure) {[Mn(R,R-Salcy)(H2O)]2[μ-Ni(CN)4]}·3CH3OH·H2O [Salcy = N,N′-(1,2-cyclohexanediylethylene)bis(salicylideneiminato)dianion)] have been synthesised. The trimeric complex shows weak antiferromagnetic interactions between the adjacent Mn(III) ions.

Abstract
A novel dinuclear bismuth(III) coordination compound, [Bi2(C7H3NO4)2(N3)2(C12H8N2)2]·4H2O, has been synthesized by an ionothermal method and characterized by elemental analysis, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, IR, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The molecular structure consists of one centrosymmetric dinuclear neutral fragment and four water molecules. Within the dinuclear fragment, each Bi(III) centre is seven-coordinated by three O atoms and four N atoms. The coordination geometry of each Bi(III) atom is distorted pentagonal-bipyramidal (BiO3N4), with one azide N atom and one bridging carboxylate O atom located in axial positions. The carboxylate O atoms and water molecules are assembled via O-H···O hydrogen bonds, resulting in the formation of a three-dimensional supramolecular structure. Two types of π-π stacking interactions are found, with centroid-to-centroid distances of 3.461 (4) and 3.641 (4) Å.

Abstract
Abstract
N,N′-bis(salicylidene)-1,3-propanediamine (LH2) and N,N′-bis(salicylidene)-2,2′-dimethyl-1,3-propanediamine (DMLH2) were reduced to phenolic amines by using NaBH4. Mononuclear complexes were obtained with Ni (II) in a N3O6 coordination sphere with these amines and N3– ions, in DMF media. It was established with the XRD studies that the coordination spheres were distorted octahedral and the complex obtained with LH2 formed dimeric structures via phenolic OH bonds. The other complex was seen to have monomeric structure. The complexes were characterized by X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, termogravimetry, IR spectroscopy and simple magnetic susceptibility (Gouy method). In addition, cyclic voltammetric studies have been performed.
