Abstract
Organotitanium fluorides (C5Me4R)TiF3 (R = H, Me, Et) sublimate with formation of crystalline dimers. From solution, we obtained crystals of dimers and tetramers. The tetramer [{(C5Me5)TiF3}4] irreversibly dissociates in the solid state to dimers (DeltaH = 8.33 kcal mol(-1)). The variable-temperature (1)H and (19)F NMR spectroscopy measurements of the toluene-d(8) solution of [{(C5Me5)TiF3}2] revealed at 202 K one monomeric, two dimeric (with C2h and Cs symmetry), two tetrameric (with D2 and C2v symmetry), and two trimeric (both C2 symmetry) molecules. With the increase in temperature and dilution of the solution, the composition of the solution shifts to the smaller molecules. The thermodynamic and activation parameters for the reversible dissociation of dimers to monomers in the solution are DeltaH = 9.2 kcal mol(-1), DeltaS = 24.2 cal mol(-1) K(-1), DeltaH(double dagger) = 12.2 kcal mol(-1), DeltaS(double dagger) = 9.7 cal mol(-1) K(-1). The dissociation path with a weakly double-bridged transition-state dimer was proposed. The thermodynamic parameters for the reversible dissociation of the C2v tetramer to the dimers in solution are DeltaH = 7.9 kcal mol(-1) and DeltaS = 26.8 cal mol(-1) K(-1). From both tetramers, the D2 molecule is 0.34(5) kcal mol(-1) lower in enthalpy and 6.5(5) cal mol(-1) K(-1) lower in entropy than the C2v molecule. The structures of both trimers were proposed. The low-temperature 19F NMR spectra of the CDCl3 solution of [{(C5Me5)TiF3}2] are consistent with equilibria of a monomer, two dimers (with C2h and Cs symmetry), and a trimer. The vapor pressure osmometric molecular mass determination of CDCl3 solution of [{(C5Me5)TiF3}2] at 302 K is consistent with the equilibrium of the dimer and the monomer.

Abstract
The reactions of diselenophosphates, [dsep, (RO)2PSe2-; R = Et, (n)Pr and (i)Pr] with cadmium(II) and mercury(II) perchlorates in a 2 : 1 molar ratio formed compounds of stoichiometry M[Se2P(OR)2]2{M = Cd, R = Et (1), (n)Pr (2), (i)Pr (3); Hg, Et(4), (n)Pr (5), (i)Pr (6)}, and with zinc(II) perchlorates, chalcogen centered tetranuclear clusters, [Zn4(micro4-E){Se2P(OR)2}6]{E = Se, R = Et (7), (n)Pr (8), (i)Pr (9); E = O, R = Et (10), (n)Pr (11), (i)Pr (12)} were formed. All these complexes have been characterized with the help of analytical data, X-ray crystallography (1, 3, 6, 10, 11 and 12), and FAB-mass spectrometry (7-12). Compound 1 is a linear double-chain polymer, in which each pair of Cd atoms is bridged by two dsep ligands; the mercury 6 polymer has a helical chain structure, in which two Hg atoms are bridged by one dsep ligand, and the other ligand chelates the Hg atom. The chelating dsep ligands lie on either side of the helical chain. Compound 3 exists as a dimer in which two cadmium atoms are connected by two bridging dsep ligands, and each cadmium atom is further chelated by a dsep ligand. The metal atoms in 1, 3 and 6 are each coordinated by four selenium atoms in a distorted tetrahedral geometry. Clusters 10-12 have tetrahedral array of zinc atoms with an oxygen atom in the center with edge-bridging dsep ligands. Positive FAB-mass spectra support the formation of selenium-centered clusters,7-9, of which the cluster 8 was structurally confirmed earlier. The solution state behavior of compounds 1-12 has been studied by using multinuclear NMR spectroscopy. Dimer 3 in CD2Cl2 showed monomer-dimer exchange equilibrium in the temperature range 20 to -90 degrees C and the free energy of activation is calculated from the coalescence temperature as DeltaG++(223 K)= 38.5 kJ mol(-1). Polymer undergoes depolymerization in CDCl3 and exhibits monomer-dimer exchange equilibrium in the temperature range 20 to -60 degrees C.

Abstract
Reaction of the ditopic semirigid ligand 1,2-bis(imidazolylmethyl)benzene (1,2-bImb) or the flexible ligand 1,4-bis(2-benzimidazolyl)butane (C4BIm) with AgX (X = ClO4-, BF4-, CF3CO2-) afforded five new complexes, namely, [Ag2(1,2-bImb)2](ClO4)2 (1), [Ag2(1,2-bImb)2](BF4)2 (2), [Ag2(1,2-bImb)2](CF3CO2)2.2CH3OH (3.2CH3OH), [Ag2(C4BIm)2](ClO4)2.2DMF (4.2DMF), and [Ag2(C4BIm)2](CF3CO2)2.2H2O (5.2H2O), all of which contain a centrosymmetric, rectangular-shaped cationic disilver(I) metallacycle [Ag2(L)2]2+. In 1-3, a pair of 1,2-bImb ligands takes on the syn conformation to connect two Ag(I) ions to give a compressed rectangle with a transannular Ag...Ag separation of 3.27-3.36 angstroms, whereas in 4 and 5, the pair of planar C4BIm ligands acts in the cis conformation to connect two Ag(I) ions to yield a normal rectangle with a transannular Ag...Ag separation of 7.67-7.91 angstroms. The anions form Ag...O or Ag...F weak interactions in 1-3 and O-H...O or N-H...O hydrogen bonds in 4 and 5 in crystal packing but exhibit no significant influence on the formation of the disilver(I) macrocycles. The solution structure and dynamic behavior of the complexes studied by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, 1H NMR, and variable-temperature NMR indicated that the dynamic equilibrium between the [Ag2(L)2]2+ cation and the open-ring oligomers or other potential species occurs via solvent-assisted dissociative exchange. The metal-ligand exchange barrier was estimated to be 54.5 kJ mol(-1).

Abstract
Reaction of (PhPSe2)2(Woollins reagent) with NaOR (R = Me, Et, (i)Pr) gives the non-symmetric phosphonodiselenoato anions [Ph(RO)PSe2]- which can be complexed to a range of metals. The nickel complex Ni[Ph(MeO)PSe2]2 adopts a square-planar ML2 structure while the cadmium complex Cd[Ph(MeO)PSe2]2 displays a dimeric M2L4 structure. Two different lead complexes are observed, one consisting of PbL2 units joined by Pb...Se interactions to form distinct dimeric pairs. The other displays a novel dimeric structure built around a central four-membered Pb2Se2 ring. All new compounds have been characterised spectroscopically (31P, 1H, 13C NMR, IR, mass spectroscopy), by elemental analysis and five demonstrative X-ray structures are reported.

Abstract
The first discrete, selenium-centered tetranuclear zinc cluster [Zn4(mu4-Se)[Se2P(OPr)2]6] was isolated and characterized. The cluster consists of six edge-bridged dsep ligands with four zinc atoms in a slightly distorted tetrahedron and a mu4-Se atom in the center. In addition, 12 mu2-bridging selenium atoms form a Se12 icosahedron. From variable-temperature 31P NMR studies, it was observed that the cluster [Zn4(Se)[Se2P(OPr)2]6] is partly decomposed to [Zn[Se2P(OPr)2]2] and the monomeric species [Zn[Se2P(OPr)2]2] is further in equilibrium with its dimer [Zn[Se2P(OPr)2]2]2.
