Abstract
Adipic (hexane-1,6-dicarboxylic, adpH2) and trans,trans-muconic (trans,trans-hexa-2,4-diene-1,6-dicarboxylic, mucH2) acids have been reacted with uranyl cations under solvo-hydrothermal conditions, yielding nine homo- or heterometallic complexes displaying in their crystal structure the effects of the different flexibility of the ligands. The complexes [PPh4]2[(UO2)2(adp)3] (1) and [Ni(bipy)3][(UO2)2(muc)3]·5H2O (2), where bipy is 2,2'-bipyridine, crystallize as diperiodic networks with the hcb topology, the layers being strongly puckered or quasiplanar, respectively. Whereas [(UO2)2(adp)3Ni(cyclam)]·2H2O (3), where cyclam is 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane, crystallizes as a diperiodic network, [(UO2)2(muc)3Ni(cyclam)]·2H2O (4) is a triperiodic framework in which the NiII cations are introduced as pillars within a uranyl-muc2- framework with the mog topology. [UO2(adp)(HCOO)2Cu(R,S-Me6cyclam)]·2H2O (5), where R,S-Me6cyclam is 7(R),14(S)-5,5,7,12,12,14-hexamethylcyclam, is a diperiodic assembly with the sql topology, and it crystallizes together with [H2NMe2]2[(UO2)2(adp)3] (6), a highly corrugated hcb network with a square-wave profile, which displays 3-fold parallel interpenetration. In contrast, [(UO2)3(muc)2(O)2Cu(R,S-Me6cyclam)] (7) is a diperiodic assembly containing hexanuclear, μ3-oxido-bridged secondary building units which are the nodes of a network with the hxl topology. The two related complexes [PPh3Me]2[(UO2)2(adp)3]·4H2O (8) and [PPh3Me]2[(UO2)2(muc)3]·H2O (9) crystallize as hcb networks, but their different shapes, undulated or quasiplanar, respectively, result in different entanglements, 2-fold parallel interpenetration in 8 and 2-fold inclined 2D → 3D polycatenation in 9.

Abstract
This paper provides a brief review of recent progress in the field of metal coordination polymers assembled from azole-containing carboxylic acids and gives a diagrammatic summary of the diversity of topological structures in the resulting infinite metal-organic coordination networks (MOCNs). Azole-containing carboxylic acids are a favorable kind of multifunctional ligand to construct various metal complexes with isolated complexes and one, two and three dimensional structures, whose isolated complexes are not the focus of this review. An insight into the topology patterns of the infinite coordination polymers is provided. Analyzed topologies are compared with documented topologies and catalogued by the nature of nodes and connectivity pattern. New topologies which are not available from current topology databases are described and demonstrated graphically.

Abstract
New coordination polymers {[Ln(tza)3(H2O)2]·mH2O}n (Ln = LaIII 1 and PrIII 2, m = 2; Ln = NdIII 3, m = 1.5) and {[Sm2(tza)6(H2O)5]·H2O}n 4 (Htza = tetrazole-1-acetic acid) have been synthesized and characterized by IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, X-ray crystallography, and magnetic measurements. The Htza ligand coordinates to the lanthanide cations through the carboxylate group in a monodentate, bridging bidentate coordination mode or bridging tridentate to two metal centres. Complexes 1 and 2 are isostructural. Complex 3 has a similar structure to 1 and 2, but the arrangement of ligands has changed. Complex 4 consists of two types of metallic molecules. Magnetic measurements show weak antiferromagnetic coupling between the metal centres in complexes 2 and 3.

Abstract
A new Zn coordination polymer with the mixed ligands of 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate and 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane has been hydrothermally synthesized, and an unusual distorted noninterpenetrated utp [or (10,3)-d] net has been defined.

Abstract
Five novel lanthanide complexes with the formulas [Nd(bta)(H2O)2.4.35H2O]n(1), [Sm(bta)(H2O)2.4.5H2O]n (2), [Eu(bta)(H2O).1.48H2O]n (3), [Tb(bta)(H2O).1.31H2O]n (4), and [Yb(bta)(H2O).H2O]n (5) (H3bta = 1,3,5-benzenetriacetic acid) have been prepared by using the corresponding lanthanide salt and H3bta. The results of an X-ray crystallographic analysis revealed that all the complexes have three-dimensional channel-like structures, in which the bta3- ligands adopt different coordination modes: monodentate and mu2-eta2:eta1-bridging coordination modes in 1, 2, and 5 and mu2-eta1:eta1-bridging and mu2-eta2:eta1-bridging coordination modes in 3 and 4, respectively. Complexes 1 and 2, as well as 3 and 4, are isostructural, respectively, in which all the Ln(III) (Ln = Nd, Sm, Eu, and Tb) atoms are nine-coordinated, while the Yb(III) atoms in complex 5 are eight-coordinated. Both complexes 3 and 4 showed strong luminescence upon excitation, and their luminescence decay curves fit well with single exponential decays of which the lifetime is 0.45 ms for 3 and 1.0 ms for 4. The magnetic properties of the complexes were investigated in the temperature range of 1.8-300 K.
