Abstract
The interaction of the pivalate complexes of iron(iii), [Fe3O(Piv)6(H2O)3]·HPiv, and cadmium(ii), [Cd(Piv)2], in Et2O resulted in one more type of "ferric wheel" family complex, namely [Fe8(Piv)16{Cd(Piv)2}(μ-OH)8]·Et2O (1). The complex is an octanuclear iron(iii) wheel with a {Cd(Piv)2} moiety asymmetrically incorporated into the ring.

Abstract
We achieve a powerful life-time expression of the Neel states for arbitrary parameters and show that for famous Fe adatom chains on Cu2N surface, 14 or 16 Fe adatoms are enough to obtain a long life-time for Neel state storage of information.

Abstract
The comparison of the structural and magnetic properties of molecular nanomagnets (MNM) and magnetic nanoparticles (MNP) can be instructive to get a deeper understanding of the magnetic behavior on the intermediate scale between molecular and bulk objects. In this respect iron oxo based clusters are particularly interesting, since they provide an increasing number of molecular systems with sizes close to that of iron oxide MNP. In this Minireview we report a survey of literature data aimed at improving our understanding of the emergence of MNP properties from MNM ones.
