Abstract
Four novel coordination polymers (CPs) based on a new 4-(3,5-dicarboxylphenyl) picolinic acid ligands (H3L), [M3(L)2(H2O)6]·4H2O (M3 = Mn3, 1; Co3, 2; Ni3, 3, Co1.01Ni1.99, 4), have been hydrothermally synthesized, and structurally and magnetically characterized. In these isomorphous CPs, octahedrally coordinated metal ions are linked by the single syn-anti carboxylate bridge (μ-COO) to give linear trinuclear motifs. The motifs are connected through the other single syn-anti carboxylate bridge (μ-COO) to give a 2D (4,4) layer, and the layers are interlinked by the L ligands into 3D frameworks. Magnetic measurement indicates that antiferromagnetic interactions between metal ions are mediated through the single syn-anti carboxylate bridges in 1 and 2, while the same carboxylate bridges in 3 transmit ferromagnetic couplings. The bimetallic CP 4 shows interesting complicated magnetic behaviors due to the competition effect of Co(ii) and Ni(ii) ions.

Abstract
Three 3D Co(ii) metal-organic frameworks of the general formula [Co(DNNDC)(NN)]n were reported, where DNNDC = 1,5-dinitronaphthalene-3,7-dicarboxylate and NN = bridging or chelating dipyridyl ligands. The MOFs exhibit similar 3D [Co(DNNDC)]n frameworks in which double-carboxylate-bridged [Co(OCO)2]n chains are cross-linked by naphthalene backbones. The bridging dipyridyl ligands [4,4'-bipyridine (bpy) and 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane (bpe)] serve as additional linkers between the chains to generate a reinforced framework with new net topology, while the chelating ligand 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) reinforces the frameworks through π-π stacking and C-HO interactions. Remarkably, varying the auxiliary ligand leads to a change in the sign of the magnetic exchange through the double carboxylate bridge: the MOFs with the ditopic bpy and bpe ligands show ferromagnetic interactions, while the one with the chelating phen ligand shows antiferromagnetic exchange. The difference in magnetic exchange is attributable to the subtle change in the coordination conformation of the carboxylate bridge.

DaSilva JG, Miller JS. Pressure induced transition from spin glass-like behavior to a metamagnet exhibiting weak ferromagnetism observed for decamethylferrocenium hexacyanobutadienide, [FeCp*2]˙+ [HCBD]˙-. Abstract
The magnetic properties of [Fe(III)Cp*2]˙(+)[HCBD]˙(-) (Cp* = pentamethylcyclopentadienide; HCBD = hexacyanobutadienide, C4(CN)6) and [Fe(III)Cp*2]˙(+)[DDQ]˙(-) (DDQ = 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyanoquinonide) were measured at ambient and applied hydrostatic pressures up to 11.4 and 9.2 kbar, respectively. At ambient pressure [FeCp*2][HCBD] exhibits spin glass-like behavior with a freezing temperature, Tf, of 2.93 K from the peak in χ'(T) at 10 Hz, but magnetic ordering is not evident due to the lack of a remnant magnetization, bifurcation temperature, and hysteresis. Above 3.1 kbar, [FeCp*2][HCBD] magnetically orders as a metamagnet with an antiferromagnetic ground state with an ordering temperature, Tc, of 2.46 K determined from the Fisher specific heat, which increases linearly to 4.80 K at 11.4 kbar at a rate of 0.28 K kbar(-1). Upon application of pressure metamagnetic-like behavior with hysteresis indicative of a weak ferromagnet (canted antiferromagnet) was observed at and above 3.1 kbar, with a coercive field, Hcr, of 65 Oe, which increases exponentially to 795 Oe at 11.4 kbar. [FeCp*2]˙(+)[DDQ]˙(-) did not magnetically order above 2 K, and magnetic order was not observed up to 9.2 kbar. The pressure dependencies are reversible.

Abstract
A new hydroxythiophenedicarboxylate metal-organic framework based on Mn(II) cations has been obtained by an aqueous two-step procedure including hydrothermal treatment. The structure of Mn(3)(OH)(2)(C(6)H(2)O(4)S)(2) has been determined ab initio from synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction data and consists of infinite inorganic ribbons which are interlinked by 2,5-thiophenedicarboxylate (tdc) molecules (monoclinic, space group P2(1)/c, a = 3.4473(1) Å, b = 19.1287(1) Å, c = 11.0069(1) Å, β = 97.48(1)°, V = 719.65(1) Å(3), and Z = 2). Each ribbon is built of three vertex-sharing chains of edge-sharing MnO(6) octahedrons. These ribbons are bridged together by the carboxylate functions of the tdc molecule to form a pseudo-2D inorganic subnetwork, while this molecule develops in the third dimension to pillar these pseudo-2D layers. An unprecedented hexadentate symmetric bridging mode is adopted by tdc which bridges two chains of a ribbon on one side and two ribbons of a pseudo-2D inorganic subnetwork on the other side. Magnetic measurements suggest that the titled compound is antiferromagnetic below T(N) = 17.7 K. Heat capacity measurements confirm the existence of a magnetic phase transition toward a 3D long-range ordered state. These C(P)(T) data have also been used for the calculation of the thermal variations of both the adiabatic temperature change ΔT(ad) and magnetic entropy change ΔS(m) of the material, namely its magnetocaloric effect.

Abstract
A new calcium coordination polymer [Ca(HL-MA)]n(H3L-MA = L-malic acid) has been solvothermally synthesized. The structure of the newly synthesized complex has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and further characterized by elemental analysis, reflectance UV-Vis & IR spectra, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The single crystal structure analysis showed that the complex forms three-dimensional framework. The new Ca(II) complex has displayed very high thermal stability which was inferred from TGA and PXRD results. As far as the optical property of the new complex is concerned, the complex emitted its own characteristic sensitized luminescence.
