Abstract
With the goal of generating anionic analogues to MN2 S2 ⋅Mn(CO)3 Br we introduced metallodithiolate ligands, MN2 S2 2- prepared from the Cys-X-Cys biomimetic, ema4- ligand (ema=N,N'-ethylenebis(mercaptoacetamide); M=NiII , [VIV ≡O]2+ and FeIII ) to Mn(CO)5 Br. An unexpected, remarkably stable dimanganese product, (H2 N2 (CH2 C=O(μ-S))2 )[Mn(CO)3 ]2 resulted from loss of M originally residing in the N2 S2 4- pocket, replaced by protonation at the amido nitrogens, generating H2 ema2- . Accordingly, the ema ligand has switched its coordination mode from an N2 S2 4- cavity holding a single metal, to a binucleating H2 ema2- with bridging sulfurs and carboxamide oxygens within Mn-μ-S-CH2 -C-O, 5-membered rings. In situ metal-templating by zinc ions gives quantitative yields of the Mn2 product. By computational studies we compared the conformations of "linear" ema4- to ema4- frozen in the "tight-loop" around single metals, and to the "looser" fold possible for H2 ema2- that is the optimal arrangement for binucleation. XRD molecular structures show extensive H-bonding at the amido-nitrogen protons in the solid state.

Abstract
Neutral phosphine oxide (P[double bond, length as m-dash]O) donor-based organometallic complexes [{Re(CO)3O[double bond, length as m-dash]PCy3}{μ-DHBQ}{Re(CO)3O[double bond, length as m-dash]PCy3}] (1), [{Re(CO)3O[double bond, length as m-dash]PPh3}{μ-DHBQ}{Re(CO)3O[double bond, length as m-dash]PPh3}] (2), [{Re(CO)3O[double bond, length as m-dash]PCy3}{μ-THQ}{Re(CO)3O[double bond, length as m-dash]PCy3}] (3), [{Re(CO)3O[double bond, length as m-dash]PPh3}{μ-THQ}{Re(CO)3O[double bond, length as m-dash]PPh3}] (4), [{Re(CO)3O[double bond, length as m-dash]PCy3}{μ-CA}{Re(CO)3O[double bond, length as m-dash]PCy3}] (5), and [{Re(CO)3O[double bond, length as m-dash]PPh3}{μ-CA}{Re(CO)3O[double bond, length as m-dash]PPh3}] (6) were assembled from phosphine/phosphine oxide, a dihydroxybenzoquinone donor and Re2(CO)10via a one-pot solvothermal approach. The soft phosphine donor was transformed into a hard phosphine oxide donor during the formation of 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6. The complexes 1-6 were air and moisture stable and were soluble in polar organic solvents. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, and NMR spectroscopic methods. The molecular structures of 1, 2, 4, and 6 were analyzed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The UV-Visible absorption studies indicated that 1-6 in THF display strong visible light absorption in the range of ∼350-700 nm.

Abstract
Dissolution of M(CO)3(Br)(L(Ar)) [L(Ar) = (2,6-Cl2-C6H3-NCMe)2CH2] in either acetonitrile [M = Mn, Re] or benzonitrile (M = Re) results in C-C coupling of the nitrile to the diimine ligand. When reacted with acetonitrile, the intermediate adduct [M(CO)3(NCCH3)(L(Ar))]Br forms and undergoes an intramolecular C-C coupling reaction between the nitrile carbon and the methylene carbon of the β-diimine ligand.

Abstract
Kryptopyrrole (2,4-dimethyl-3-ethylpyrrole) was acylated with, for example, benzoyl chloride to afford 2-benzoyl-3,5-dimethyl-4-ethylpyrrole (L(1)H). With SiCl4 this ligand reacts under liberation of HCl and formation of the complex L(1)2SiCl2. In related reactions with HSiCl3 or H2SiCl2, the same chlorosilicon complex is formed under liberation of HCl and H2 or liberation of H2, respectively. The chlorine atoms of L(1)2SiCl2 can be replaced by fluoride and triflate using ZnF2 and Me3Si-OTf, respectively. The use of a supporting base (triethylamine) is required for the complexation of phenyltrichlorosilane and diphenyldichlorosilane. The complexes L(1)2SiCl2, L(1)2SiF2, L(1)2Si(OTf)2, L(1)2SiPhCl, and L(1)2SiPh2 exhibit various configurations of the octahedral silicon coordination spheres (i.e. cis or trans configuration of the monodentate substituents, different orientations of the bidentate chelating ligands relative to each other). Furthermore, cationic silicon complexes L(1)3Si(+) and L(1) SiPh(+) were synthesized by chloride abstraction with GaCl3. In contrast, reaction of L(1)2SiCl2 with a third equivalent of L(1)H in the presence of excess triethylamine produced a charge-neutral hexacoordinate Si complex with a new tetradentate chelating ligand which formed by Si-templated C-C coupling of two ligands L(1).
