Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with polar space groups in crystallography represent a class of potential molecular-based ferroelectrics; however, the rational design and enhancement of the performance of MOF-based ferroelectrics is a great challenge. In this work, a series of mixed-metal MOFs deriving from Mg2+ ions doped into the lattice nodes of the parent-MOF (Ni-MOF) are synthesized by an in situ solvothermal method. Taking advantage of Mg2+ ions doped in the Ni-MOF, the doped-MOFs (Mg/Ni-MOFs) appear to have a significant lattice distortion and noteworthy dipole asymmetry in the crystals. It is found that the obtained doped-MOFs show a significant enhancement of ferroelectricity compared with that of the parent-MOF. This study opens up a new landscape to explore possibilities for controlling ferroelectric performance in MOF-based ferroelectrics.

Abstract
The controllable construction and function expansion of some sophisticated aggregations represent a current hot topic in scientific research. In this paper, using a prefabricated {Co14} cluster as a synthetic precursor, a homometallic {Co24} and a heterometallic {Co12Cd12} giant cluster possessing similar dual-[M12] (M = Co/Cd) skeletons was prepared by reacting the precursor with excess CoCl2 and Cd(OAc)2 salts, respectively. The detailed structural information on {Co24} and {Co12Cd12} was characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and further analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma-mass spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy in the solid state. Compared to the {Co14} precursor, magnetic difference revealed that spin-canting and magnetic ordering had been enhanced in {Co24} and suppressed in {Co12Cd12} when dotted with diamagnetic Cd2+ ions.

Abstract
A novel noninterpenetrated tetranuclear cobalt(II)-based metal-organic framework, (NH4)2·[Co4(μ3-OH)2(ina)2(pip)3]·4EtOH·H2O (simplified as NbU-10·S), constructed by mix linkers was synthesized by a hydrothermal method. Interestingly, the presence of a hydrophobic benzene ring in the organic linker makes NbU-10·S exhibit high stability in high temperature and even in aqueous solution over a wide pH range of about 4-13. Magnetic studies showed that the tetranuclear cobalt(II) units in NbU-10·S show dominant antiferromangetic properties. However, in the absence of Lewis basic functional sites and open metal sites in the material, NbU-10 still displays high C2H2/CO2 and C2H2/C2H4 selectivity in ideal adsorbed solution theory calculations and dynamic breakthrough experiments. Moreover, density functional theory calculations were performed to identify the adsorption characteristics of different gas molecules.

Abstract
Two new 3D cobalt metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), [Co4(CH3COO)(in)5(μ3-OH)2]·2H2O (1) and [Co4(SO4)2(in)4(DMF)2]·3DMF (2) (Hin = isonicotinic acid), have been prepared through the anion template method. Compound 1 consists of rare odd-number connected (9-connected) cubane-like SBUs, while compound 2 consists of 8-connected high-symmetry square-planar clusters. Magnetic studies indicate that compound 1 exhibits spin-canting antiferromagnetic ordering, while compound 2 shows antiferromagnetic behavior. At 273 K and 1 bar, compound 1 exhibits a high CO2 selectivity over CH4 and a significant CO2 uptake of 13.6 wt%, which is higher than that of 2 (8.5 wt%). Furthermore, compound 1 was then transformed into ultrasmall Co3O4 nanoparticles via simple but effective annealing treatment. Electrochemical measurements show that the Co3O4 nanospheres derived from compound 1 exhibited high and stable lithium storage properties (1100 mA h g-1 after 100 cycles at 200 mA g-1) and excellent rate capabilities.

Abstract
We present the synthesis, structural characterization, and magnetic properties of two high-nuclearity cobalt clusters formulated as [Co13(μ3-OH)3(μ3-Cl)(dpbt)5(ptd)Cl10][Co(H2O)2Cl2]·(CH3)2CHOH (1) and [Co24(μ3-OH)6(μ3-Cl)2(dpbt)10(ptd)2Cl16]·2CH3CH2OH (2), respectively (H2dpbt = 5,5'-bis(pyridin-2-yl)-3,3'-bis(1,2,4-triazole) and H2ptd = 3-(pyridin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazine-5,6-diol). Compound 1 is composed of an inner [Co4(μ3-OH)3(μ3-Cl)] cubane and an outer [Co9(dpbt)5(ptd)Cl10] defective adamantane. Compound 2 reveals a giant {Co24} cluster possessing a dual-[Co12] skeleton from 1. The hierarchical assembly from 1 to 2 has been established and tracked through high-resolution electrospray ionization (HRESI-MS) analyses from the solvothermal reaction mother solution. Magnetic studies of 1 and 2 revealed the highly correlated spins, a glasslike magnetic phase transition at ca. 8 K, and slow relaxation behavior of SMM nature in the lower-temperature region (below 4 K).

Abstract
Six novel Co(ii) coordination polymers, namely, [Co10L6(OH)2(H2O)9]·10.5H2O (1), [Co3L2(3-abpt)2]·4H2O (2), [Co3L2(4-azpy)2(H2O)2(EtOH)] (3), [Co3L2(4,4'-bipy)2(H2O)2(MeCN)] (4), [Co3L2(4,4'-bipy)2] (5), and [Co5L2(OH)2(ina)2(H2O)2] (6) (H3L = 2,2'-phosphinico-dibenzoic acid, 3-abpt = 4-amino-3,5-bis(3-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole, 4-azpy = 4,4'-azobispyridine, 4,4'-bipy = 4,4'-bipyridine, Hina = isonicotinic acid), have been hydrothermally synthesized and their magnetic properties have been characterized. The L3- anion displays six types of coordination modes in the compounds. Compound 1 exhibits a novel 1D ladder-like structure, which consists of non-centrosymmetric Co10 units. Compounds 2-4 comprise 2D networks assembled from Co3L2 chains and N-heterocyclic linkers. Compound 5 comprises a 3D framework built from six neighboring parallel Co3L2 ladders bridged by 4,4'-bipy linkers. Compound 6 features a 3D framework that exhibits pcu topology with the Schläfli symbol of (412·63) using a pentanuclear [Co5(OH)2]8+ cluster as the node. Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility studies indicate that the six coordination polymers exhibit remarkable magnetic behavior such as spin-canted antiferromagnetism and spin glass, which were found to coexist in compound 6.

Abstract
Abstract
A new heptanuclear nickel cluster [Ni7(immp)6(OMe)6]·(ClO4)2 (1, Himmp is 2-iminomethyl-6-methoxy-phenol) has been synthesized through the microwave-assisted reaction of Ni(ClO4)2·6H2O with 2-hydroxy-3-methoxy-benzaldehyde and ammonium water in mixed solvent (acetonitrile: methanol = 1:1). Complex 1 was characterized by IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. Magnetic property of 1 indicates the relaxation time τ
0 = 1.28 × 10–15 s and the energy barrier U
eff / k
B = 70.4 K, which is a spin glass.

Abstract
The pyrazole-based tridentate diol ligand 2-(1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)phenol (H2L) forms a cubane-type complex [Co4L4(MeOH)4] (1) that features a {Co4O4} core and four exogenous MeOH ligands. Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry suggests that the MeOH ligands are easily lost, and thermogravimetric analysis evinces a thermally induced release of those methanol molecules from solid material in the temperature range from 380 to 440 K. Desolvation was found to give rise to a pronounced solvatomagnetic effect that causes a switching of the spin ground state of the {Co4O4} core from diamagnetic to magnetic. Furthermore, the desolvated "naked" [Co4L4] cube (1*) shows slow relaxation of the magnetization and butterfly-like magnetic hysteresis at 2 K. A comparatively high relaxation barrier Ueff/kB = 64.4 K and a characteristic relaxation time τ0 = 3.8 × 10(-9) s for 1* have been derived from an Arrhenius plot. These findings thus demonstrate that the emergence of interesting magnetic properties in molecule-based materials can be triggered via a solvatomagnetic process, even for materials that in their solvated form have a diamagnetic (ST = 0) ground state.
