Abstract
Porous coordination polymers (PCPs) are an excellent class of porous crystalline materials with tunable properties and intriguing potential applications spanning multiple disciplines. In this work, we report the synthesis and characterization of a PCP (HI-103) based on 4,4'-dithiodibenzoic acid ligand and zinc nitrate with two DMF molecules residing in the porous network. The stability of the porous network was analyzed by heating the compound at 60.0 °C for two days, and the structural analysis revealed a new PCP (HI-104) was formed with one of the DMF molecules, indicating a single-crystal to single-crystal (SCSC) transformation. The solvent molecules were completely removed by extensive drying (HI-103-dry), and the integrity of the porous network was verified by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and thermogravimetric analysis. The reversibility of SCSC transformation was confirmed by treating HI-103-dry with DMF molecules, resulting in HI-103 after five days. The adsorption studies of HI-103-dry with other solvents revealed that SCSC transformation was not observed for DMA and DEA, but some structural changes were observed in the presence of DMSO. The adsorption studies performed in the presence of an equimolar mixture of DMF, DMA, and DMA indicated that HI-103-dry could selectively adsorb DMF molecules from the analogous mixture.

pH and Salt-Assisted Macroscopic Chirality Inversion of Gadolinium Coordination Polymer. Molecules 2022; 28:molecules28010163. Abstract
The precise adjustment of handedness of helical architectures is important to regulate their functions. Macroscopic chirality inversion has been achieved in organic supramolecular systems by pH, metal ions, solvents, chiral and non-chiral additives, temperature, and light, but rarely in coordination polymers (CPs). In particular, salt-assisted macroscopic chirality inversion has not been reported. In this work, we carried out a systematic investigation on the role of pH and salt in regulating the morphology of CPs based on Gd(NO3)3 and R-(1-phenylethylamino)methylphosphonic acid (R-pempH2). Without extra NO3-, the chirality inversion from the left-handed superhelix R-M to the right-handed superhelix R-P can be achieved by pH modulation from 3.2 to 3.8. The addition of NaNO3 (2.0 eq) at pH 3.8 results in an inversion of chiral sense from R-P to R-M as a pure phase. To our knowledge, this is the first example of salt-assisted macroscopic helical inversion in artificial systems.

Abstract
A discrete complex [Zn(tpro)2(H2O)2] (1, Htpro = l-thioproline), and two structural isomers of coordination polymers, a 1D chain of [Zn(tpro)2]n (2) and a layered structure [Zn(tpro)2]n (3), were synthesized and characterized. The discrete complex 1 undergoes a temperature-driven structural transformation, leading to the formation of a 1D helical coordination polymer 2. Compound 3 is comprised of a 2D homochiral layer network with a (4,4) topology. These layers are mutually linked through hydrogen bonding interactions, resulting in the formation of a 3D network. When 1 is heated, it undergoes nearly complete conversion to the microcrystalline form, i.e., compound 2, which was confirmed by powder X-ray diffractions (PXRD). The carboxylate motifs could be activated after removing the coordinated water molecules by heating at temperatures of up to 150 °C, their orientations becoming distorted, after which, they attacked the activation sites of the Zn(II) centers, leading to the formation of a 1D helix. Moreover, a portion of the PXRD pattern of 1 was converted into the patterns corresponding to 2 and 3, and the ratio between 2 and 3 was precisely determined by the simulation study of in-situ synchrotron PXRD expriments. Consequently, such a 0D complex is capable of underdoing structural transformations and can be converted into 1D and/or 2D amino acid-based coordination polymers.

Abstract
Self-assembly of Cu(NO3 )2 ⋅3 H2 O and di(3-pyridylmethyl)amine (dpma) with addition of different acids (HNO3 , HOAc, HCl, HClO4 , HOTf, HPF6 , HBF4 , and H2 SO4 ) afforded a family of anion-templated tetragonal metallocages with a cationic prismatic structure of [(Gn- )⊂{Cu2 (Hdpma)4 }](8-n)+ (Gn- =NO3- , PF6- , SiF62- ) with different ligating anions/solvents (NO3- , Cl- , ClO4- , OTf- , H2 O) outside the cage. Systematic competitive experiments have rationalized the tendency of anion templation towards the formation of metallocages [(Gn- )⊂{Cu2 (Hdpma)4 }](8-n)+ as occurring in the order SiF62- ≈PF6- >NO3- >SO42- ≈ClO4- ≈BF4- . This sequence is mostly elucidated by shape control over size selectivity and electrostatic attraction between the cationic {Cu2 (Hdpma)4 }8+ host and the anionic guests. In addition, these results have also roughly ranked the anion coordination ability in the order Cl- , ClO4- , OTf- >NO3- >BF4- , CH3 SO4- . Magnetic studies of metallocages 1 t and 2-4 suggest that the fitted magnetic interaction, being weakly magnetically coupled overall, is interpreted as a result of the combination of intracage ferromagnetic coupling integrals and intercage antiferromagnetic exchange; both contributions are very weak and comparable in strength.

Abstract
It is a challenge to develop methodologies involving multiple transformations for preparing new materials that cannot be obtained via direct synthesis. Herein, we report an anion exchange process accompanying cation reduction and dimerisation via a single-crystal-to-single-crystal transformation. First, a direct reaction of the flexible tripyridyl dithioether ligand L with CuI afforded a mixture of four bis(ligand) complexes (1a-1d). To avoid the formation of undesired mixed products, a copper(ii) nitrate complex-mediated approach involving anion exchange and cation reduction was employed to generate a monomeric complex, [CuII(L)NO3]NO3·toluene (2). When the dark blue crystals of 2 were immersed in an aqueous NaI solution, the crystals were transformed to a pale yellow dimeric copper(i) iodide complex, [(μ-CuI2I2)(L)2] (3). The observed anion exchange promotes the reduction of copper(ii) to copper(i) at the expense of I-/I3- oxidation as well as dimerisation via the formation of a Cu2I2 cluster. This result corresponds to the synthesis of a compound that otherwise was not able to be prepared via a direct synthetic procedure.
