[CuCN·Me3SnCN·C4H4N2]: A Threefold- Interpenetrating, Distorted-Diamondoid Framework (C4H4N2 = Pyrazine)

Spectroscopic properties and the catalytic activity of new organo-lead supramolecular coordination polymer containing quinoxaline

The 3D-supramolecular coordination polymer (SCP) (3)∞[ Cu2(CN)3(Me3Pb)(qox)], 1, as the first example of the CuCN SCP containing the (Me3Pb) fragment, was explored to investigate its catalytic and photo-catalytic activities. The structure of 1 contains two chemically identical but crystallographically different [Cu2(CN)3⋅Me3Pb⋅qox]2 units with four Cu(I) sites assuming distorted TP-3 geometry. Two non-linear chains of equal abundance are formed producing corrugated parallel chains which are connected laterally by quinoxaline creating 2D-layers which are arranged parallel in an (AB⋯AB⋯AB)n fashion forming 3D-network. IR, mass, electronic absorption and fluorescence spectra are also investigated. The SCP 1 is diamagnetic and exhibits good catalytic and photo-catalytic activities for the degradation of methylene blue (MB). The reaction is first order with respect to MB dye. The irradiation of the reaction with UV-light enhanced the rate of MB mineralization. The efficiency of recycled the 1 and the mechanism of degradation of MB dye were investigated.

Interweaving 3D Network with Double Helical Tubes Filled by 1D Coordination Polymer Chains

The hydrothermal reaction of mellitic acid, 4,4'-bipydine, and Cu(CH(3)COO)(2).H(2)O gave rise to a novel 3D supramolecular architecture interpenetrated by three types of coordination polymer motifs. Two independent [[Cu(2)(mellitate)(4,4'-bpy)(H(2)O)(2)](2)(-)] 3D polymers incorporating helical substructures were interwoven into a 3D network with double-stranded helical tubes that host 1D linear polymers [Cu(4,4'-bpy)(H(2)O)(4)](2+)](n).

An unprecedented 8-fold interpenetrating diamondoid-like coordination polymer containing a Cu+(4)(RCO2)(4) cluster as connecting node

The reaction of Cu(I)(CH(3)CN)(4)BF(4) with 4-pyridylacrylic acid (4-HPYA) affords an unprecedented 8-fold interpenetrating diamondoid-like coordination polymer network [Cu(I)(3)(4-PYA)(2)(H(2)O)(BF(4)) ] (1) with a Cu(+)(4)(CO(2))(4) cluster as connecting node. The interpenetration in metal coordination polymers is the highest degree ever found within diamondoid nets containing a cluster as connecting note. Its fluorescent property was also reported.

First Cu(II) diamondoid net with 2-fold interpenetrating frameworks. The role of anions in the construction of the supramolecular arrays

The synthesis and crystal structure of the three-dimensional coordination polymer of an angular dipyridyl ligand 2,5-bis(4-pyridyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole (L) and Cu(ClO(4))(2), exhibiting the first Cu(II) diamondoid network with 2-fold interpenetration, ([Cu(L)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(OH)(H(2)O)(2.5))(n) (1), together with the Cu(OAc)(2) complex of L, [Cu(L)(2)(OAc)(2)(H(2)O)](H(2)O)(2)(CH(3)OH) (2), with an unexpected mononuclear structure, are reported. Crystal data for 1: tetragonal, space group I4(1)/a, a = b = 13.477(3) A, c = 46.167(13) A, Z = 8. Crystal data for 2: triclinic, space group P(-)1, a = 7.847(2) A, b = 13.189(4) A, c = 15.948(5) A, alpha = 75.225(7) degrees, beta = 79.945(6) degrees, gamma = 77.540(5) degrees, Z = 2. The magnetic properties and anion effect are also discussed.

Heterometallic polymeric clusters containing tetraselenotungstate anion: one-dimensional helical chain [[La(Me2SO)8

[PPh4]2[WSe4] reacts with an equivalent of [Ag(MeCN)4][ClO4] in DMF to afford a linear polymeric cluster [[Ph4P][(mu-WSe4)Ag]]n (1). Treatment of cluster 1 with excess La(NO3)3.3H2O in Me2SO solution resulted in the formation of a helical chain polymeric cluster [[La(Me2SO)8][(mu-WSe4)3Ag3]]n (2). Cluster 2 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1/n) with four formula units in a cell of dimensions a = 12.7642(5) A, b = 24.1725(9) A, c = 19.4012(7) A, and beta = 103.546(11) degrees. Refinement by full-matrix least-squares techniques gave final residuals R = 0.0540 and Rw = 0.1116 for 494 variables and 7593 reflections (Fo(2) > 2.0sigma(Fo(2))). The anion [[(mu-WSe4)3Ag3]]n(3n-) in 2 can be described as a butterfly-type SeWSe3Ag2 basic repeating unit linked through interactions with a Ag atom of one fragment and a Ag atom of another to form an intriguing helical array. The CuCN, KCN, and [Et4N]2[WSe4] reaction system resulted in the formation of a novel three-dimensional cluster [[Et4N]2[(mu4-WSe4)Cu4(CN)4]]n (4) either in DMF/2-picoline or in solid at 80 degrees C. Cluster 4 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Fddd with cell constants a = 11.090(2) A, b = 23.206(5) A, c = 23.910(5) A, and Z = 8. Anisotropic refinement with 1510 reflections (Fo(2) > 2.0sigma(Fo(2))) and 82 parameters for all non-hydrogen atoms yielded the values of R = 0.0428 and Rw = 0.0887. The anion structure of 4 is built up from a WSe4Cu4 unit bridged by cyanide ligands to form a three-dimensional cross framework. The air- and moisture-stable polymeric clusters easily decompose into small molecular clusters when treated with ligands such as PPh3 and pyridine (Py). Cluster 2 exhibits both strong optical absorption and an optical self-focusing effect (effective alpha2 = 2.2 x 10(-9) m2.W(-1), n2 = 6.8 x 10(-15) m2.W(-1); examined in a 0.13 mM DMF solution). Cluster 4 shows good photostability in the process of measurement and a large optical limiting effect (the limiting threshold is ca. 0.2 J.cm(-2)).
