Abstract
There are several protocols for the preparation of bicyclic derivatives; however, some methods use dangerous and require special conditions. The aim of this study was to synthesize a new Dioxaspiro[ bicyclo[3.3.1]nonane-oxabicyclo[6.2.0]-deca-1(10), 8-dien-4-one (compound 8). Compound 8 was prepared using some reactions such as; i) etherification, ii) reduction, iii) amidation, iv) imination and v) 2+2 addition. The chemical structure of 8 and its intermediaries were completely characterized by spectroscopic techniques and elemental analysis. The synthesis showed a yield of 85% for compound 8. In this study, an easy method for the preparation of compound 8 is reported.

Abstract
Rapid access to enantioenriched spirocycles possessing a 1,4-dicarbonyl moiety spanning an all-carbon quaternary stereogenic spirocenter was achieved using a masked bromomethyl vinyl ketone reagent. The developed protocol entails an enantioselective palladium-catalyzed allylic alkylation reaction followed by a one-pot unmasking/RCM sequence that provides access to the spirocyclic compounds in good yields and selectivities.

Abstract
The first gallium- and calcium-catalyzed Meyer–Schuster rearrangements are described. The incipient conjugated ketones can undergo calcium-catalyzed aldol condensation (a) or endo-Michael addition (b) with β-keto esters or amides.

Abstract
In the presence of trimethylsilyl trifluoromethanesulfonate (TMSOTf), γ-methyl-γ-hydroxybutenolide reacts with aromatic aldehydes to generate a new class of stereochemically rich spirocyclic ketal-lactones in good yields and with excellent stereoselectivities. We believe that this process takes place through the in situ generation of protoanemonin followed by a Prins reaction. Herein, we describe this discovery, along with substrate scope and preliminary mechanistic studies.

Abstract
FR900482 and the mitomycins are two intriguing classes of alkaloid natural products that have analogous biological mechanisms and obvious structural similarity. Both classes possess potent anticancer activity, a feature that has led to their investigation and implementation for the clinical treatment of human cancer. Given the structural similarity between these natural products, we envisioned a common synthetic strategy by which both classes could be targeted through assembling the mitomycin skeleton prior to further oxidative functionalization. Realization of this strategy with respect to FR900482 was accomplished through the synthesis of 7-epi-FR900482, which displayed equal potency relative to the natural product against two human cancer cell lines. With the challenging goal of a synthesis of either mitomycin or FR900482 in mind, several methodologies were explored. While not all of these methods ultimately proved useful for our synthetic goal, a number of them led to intriguing findings that provide a more complete understanding of several methodologies. In particular, amination via π-allyl palladium complexes for the synthesis of tetrahydroquinolines, eight-membered heterocycle formation via carbonylative lactamization, and amination through late-stage C-H insertion via rhodium catalysis all featured prominently in our synthetic studies.

Abstract
In the current bid for synthetic efficiency, multiple bond-forming transformations are becoming a key concept in organic synthesis. In this context, domino protocols have become increasingly common in the synthesis of bicyclic systems. This tutorial review aims at providing a short but authoritative overview of this topic, focusing on the preparation of bridged bicyclo[n.3.1]alkane systems, and is organized according to the number of rings created in the key domino process.

Abstract
An efficient formal total synthesis of (+)-gephyrotoxin is described. The key step of our strategy relies on the diastereoselective reduction of a chiral pyrrolidine beta-enamino ester obtained by condensation of ( S)-phenylglycinol on a protected 8-hydroxy-3,6-dioxooctanoate.

Abstract
An approach to the total synthesis of the antimicrotubule agent welwistatin is described. Key transformations include (1) a 7-endo intramolecular conjugate addition reaction of enone 6 to deliver the strained bicyclo[4.3.1]decanone 5; (2) a 6pi electrocyclic ring closure of trienecarbamate 16 followed by oxidation to afford protected aniline 17; and (3) an intramolecular cyclization of acetic acid derivative 18 to give rise to indole 19. Abstract
This review covers the literature relating to asymmetric syntheses of pipecolic acid derivatives from 1997 to present. This review is organized according to the position and the degree of substitution of the piperidinic cycle. In a first section, syntheses of pipecolic acid itself are described. Then, successively, syntheses of C-3, C-4, C-5, C-6 substituted pipecolic acid derivatives are reported. Finally, syntheses of unsaturated pipecolic acid derivatives are presented before the last part devoted to the polysubstituted pipecolic acid derivatives.

Abstract
[reaction: see text] A highly stereoselective intramolecular cycloaddition of an indole tethered to an aza-ortho-xylylene intermediate effects the rapid construction of a substantial portion of the ring system of the cytotoxic natural product communesin B. An analogous cycloaddition involving an ortho-quinone methide intermediate provides an adduct that clearly revealed that the structural assignment for nomofungin was in error.
