Abstract
The hydrosilylation of alkynes is one of the most attractive and, at the same time, most challenging catalytic transformations, usually demanding the use of noble transition metals. We describe a catalytic system, based on cobalt(0) complex and bulky N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands, permitting the highly effective hydrosilylation of a broad scope of alkynes and silanes. The application of bulky NHC ligands allowed a decrease in the amount of cobalt necessary for an effective reaction run to 2.5 mol% and provided excellent selectivity towards challenging α-vinylsilanes. The developed method tolerates a number of substituted aryl, alkyl, and silyl acetylenes. Moreover, it is suitable for both tertiary and secondary silanes. Our findings confirm that steric hindrance around the metal center can effectively increase the activity of a catalyst and ensure better selectivity than those of analogous complexes bearing smaller ligands.

Abstract
A Cu-catalyzed carbonylative silylation of unactivated alkyl halides has been developed, enabling efficient synthesis of alkyl-substituted acylsilanes in high yield. A variety of functional groups are tolerated under the mild reaction conditions, and primary, secondary, and tertiary alkyl halides are all applicable. The practical utility of this method has been demonstrated in the synthesis of acylsilanes bearing different silyl groups as well as in situ reduction of a product to the corresponding α-hydroxylsilane in one pot. Mechanistic experiments indicate that a silylcopper intermediate activates alkyl halides by single electron transfer to form alkyl radical intermediates and that carbon-halogen bond cleavage is not involved in the rate-determining step.

Abstract
One direct and efficient procedure for the synthesis of 1,1-disilylated terminal alkenes is demonstrated in this paper. To overcome and rationally utilize the steric hindrance of silyl units, the cationic ruthenium catalyst [CpRu(MeCN)3]+ was found to be effective for Markovnikov hydrosilylation of 1-silyl terminal alkynes with high yields and excellent regioselectivity. Dissimilarities between alkyl and alkoxy silyl units lead to versatile product derivatizations toward a variety of useful building blocks.

Abstract
[reaction: see text] 1-Boryl-1-silylalkylcoppers react with molecular oxygen in the presence of pyridine to afford acylsilanes efficiently. The one-pot process consists of two reactions: alkylation of 1-boryl-1-chloro-silylmethyllithium with Grignard reagents in the presence of copper(I) cyanide and aerobic oxidation of the alkylcopper species. This procedure enables us to access the divergent synthesis of acylsilanes.

Abstract
[chemical reaction: see text]. Diorganophosphide anions, which usually function as nontransferable ligands on mixed cuprates, undergo smooth 1,2-migration on ate-type copper carbenoids. Phosphinodisilylmethylcoppers prepared by this protocol are converted into the corresponding phosphines, which can be used as bulky, highly basic and air-stable ligands.

Abstract
Treatment of alpha, beta-unsaturated carbonyl compounds or methyl propargyl ether with acylchlorobis(cyclopentadienyl)titanium in the presence of triethylamine and a copper salt in aqueous THF resulted in acylation of the carbon-carbon multiple bond, yielding the corresponding 1,4-diketones in good yields.

Abstract
Symmetrical 1,1-bis(silyl)ethenes have been easily prepared via ruthenium complex-catalyzed silylative coupling cyclization of 1,2-bis(dimethylvinylsiloxy)ethane to give 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-3-methylene-1,5-dioxa-2,4-disilacycloheptane with excellent selectivity and good yield, followed by its reaction with Grignard reagents. The cyclic product can also be effectively transformed into cyclic carbosiloxane, 2,2,4,4,6,6,8,8-octamethyl-3,7-dimethylene-1,5-dioxa-2,4,6,8-tetrasilacyclooctane.
