Abstract
Palladium-catalyzed addition of a C-Si bond in acylsilanes across the triple bonds in an alkyne bearing a carbonyl group at one terminal is reported. The reaction proceeds with excellent regioselectivity, in which a silyl group is incorporated into the carbon α to the carbonyl group, allowing for straightforward access to a variety of functionalized alkenylsilane derivatives. Catalytic synthesis of indanones by annulation between acylsilanes and alkynes with an identical catalytic system is also reported.

Abstract
A new method for differential dihydrofunctionalization of terminal alkynes enables the synthesis of allylic boronate esters through reductive three-component coupling of terminal alkynes, alkenyl bromides, and pinacolborane. The transformation is promoted by cooperative action of a copper/palladium catalyst system and results in hydrofunctionalization of both π-bonds of an alkyne. The synthesis of allylic boronate esters can be accomplished in the presence of a wide range of functional groups, including, esters, nitriles, alkyl halides, sulfonyl esters, acetals, protected terminal alkynes, aryl halides, and silyl ethers. Mechanistic experiments reveal the importance of subtle ligand effects on the performance of the palladium co-catalyst.

Abstract
A copper catalyzed borocarbonylation of BCPs via proximal C-C bond cleavage for the synthesis of γ-boryl-γ,δ-unsaturated carbonyl compounds has been developed. Using substituted benzylidenecyclopropanes (BCPs) and chloroformates as starting material, a broad range of γ-boryl-γ,δ-unsaturated esters were prepared in moderate to excellent yields with excellent regio- and stereoselectivity. Besides, when aliphatic acid chlorides were used in this reaction, γ-boryl-γ,δ-unsaturated ketones could be produced in excellent yields. When substituted BCPs were used as substrates, the borocarbonylation occurred predominantly at the proximal C-C bond trans to the phenyl group in a regio- and stereoselective manner, which leads to the Z-isomers as the products. This efficient methodology involves the cleavage of a C-C bond and the formation of a C-C bond as well as a C-B bond, and provides a new method for the proximal C-C bond difunctionalization of BCPs.

Abstract
The construction of structurally complexed and high-value chemical molecules from simple and readily available feedstocks is a long-standing challenge to chemists. Here, we describe a copper-catalyzed borofunctionalization of styrenes with B2pin2 and carbon monoxide. A set of new sodium cyclic borates were obtained with NaOtBu as the base. These unique sodium cyclic borates can be easily converted into a variety of multifunctional β-boryl vinyl esters, boryl carbonates, β-boryl aldehydes, and boryl vinyl ether. In addition, the procedure also features good functional group tolerance and utilizes CO as the C1 source. A new copper-catalyzed borofunctionalization of styrenes with B2pin2 and carbon monoxide has been developed.![]()

Abstract
The addition reaction between CuBpin and alkenes to give a terminal boron substituted intermediate is usually fast and facile. In this communication, a selectivity-reversed procedure has been designed and established. This selectivity-reversed borocarbonylation reaction is enabled by a cooperative action between palladium and copper catalysts and proceeds with complete regioselectivity. The key to the success of this transformation is the coordination of the amide group and slower CuBpin formation by using KHCO3 as the base. A wide range of β-boryl ketones were produced from terminal unactivated aliphatic alkenes and aryl iodides. Further synthetic transformations of the obtained β-boryl ketones have been developed as well. A selectivity-reversed borocarbonylation reaction has been developed with complete regioselectivity.![]()

Abstract
A distinct copper-catalyzed boroacylation of allenes with acyl chlorides and bis(pinacolato)diboron is developed. For aromatic acyl chlorides, 1,2-boroacylation of allenes readily takes place, leading to the formation of tetrasubstituted vinylboronates with exclusive (E)-stereoselectivity. In comparison, the employment of alkyl acyl chlorides as electrophiles alters the selectivity to 2,3-boroacylated products. Additionally, the product can easily undergo Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling to afford tetrasubstituted alkene with complete retention of the configuration.

Abstract
An efficient synthesis of indolizine derivatives from propargylic pyridines and aroyl chlorides was developed. The 5-endo-dig cyclization was initiated by the in situ formed acylpalladium species from the facile oxidative addition of aroyl chloride to Pd(0) complex. This transformation successfully occurred in the presence of an N-nucleophilic moiety and acid chlorides, a good electrophilic partner, affording highly functionalized indolizines in good-to-excellent yields.

Abstract
A method for the copper-catalyzed borylacylation of activated alkenes is presented. The reaction involves borylcupration of the alkene, followed by capture of the generated alkyl-copper intermediate with an acid chloride. The reactions operated with low catalyst loading and generally occurre within 15 min at room temperature for a range of activated alkenes. In the case of vinyl arenes, enantioselective borylacylation was possible.

Abstract
We report the preparation of hitherto unprecedented 3-cyanoallyl boronates using condensation of the parent α-boryl aldehyde and nitriles. The resulting allyl boronates have been used to generate a wide range of borylated thiophenes, which represent a valuable class of heterocycles in modern drug discovery. Subsequent Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling enabled the synthesis of pharmaceutically important 3,5-disubstituted aminothiophenes. Moreover, late stage functionalization gave access to borylated bromothiophene and thieno[2,3-b]pyridines.

Abstract
PtCl2 effectively catalyzes the multistep reaction of N-methyl indole (1 a) with pent-3-yn-1-ol (2 a) in THF at room temperature for 2 h to give indole derivative 3 a, which contains a five-membered cyclic ether group at C3 in 93% yield. Under similar reaction conditions, various substituted N-methyl indoles 1 b-h and indole (1 i) reacted efficiently with 2 a to afford the corresponding indole derivatives 3 b-h and 3 i in 48-91 and 72% yields. The results showed that N-methyl indoles with electron-donating substituents were more reactive affording higher product yields than those with electron-withdrawing groups. Likewise, various substituted but-3-yn-1-ols 2 b-e and other longer chain alkynyl alcohols 2 f-i also underwent a cyclization-addition reaction with N-methyl indole (1 a) to provide the corresponding cyclization-addition products 3 j-m and 3 a, 3 j, and 3 n-o in good to excellent yields. The present platinum-catalyzed cyclization-addition reaction can be further extended into N-methyl pyrrole. Mechanistically, the catalytic reaction proceeds by an intramolecular hydroalkoxylation of alkynyl alcohol to afford cyclic enol ether followed by the addition of the C--H bond of indole to the unsaturated moiety of cyclic enol ether providing the final product. Experimental evidence to support this proposed mechanism is provided.

Abstract
The efficient regioselective and stereospecific synthesis of tetrasubstituted olefins using a mild and convenient method is disclosed. 2-Alkynyl esters are selectively converted to E-beta-chloro-alpha-iodo-alpha,beta-unsaturated esters by exposure to Bu4NI in refluxing dichloroethane. These products are produced cleanly, regio- and stereoselectively, and in high yields. Single-isomer tetrasubstituted olefins bearing four different carbon substituents are then synthesized by sequential palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions. Selectivity results from reactivity differences in the intermediate substrates.

Abstract
[reaction: see text] The Pd-catalyzed three-component coupling of readily available aryl iodides, internal alkynes, and arylboronic acids provides a convenient, one-step, regio- and stereoselective route to tetrasubstituted olefins in good to excellent yields, although electron-poor aryl iodides and dialkylalkynes normally afford only low yields under our standard reaction conditions. The proper combination of substrates and reaction conditions is important for high yields. The presence of water generally substantially increases the yields of the desired tetrasubstituted olefins. The reaction involves cis-addition of the aryl group from the aryl iodide to the less hindered or more electron-rich end of the alkyne, while the aryl group from the arylboronic acid adds to the other end. A modified, room-temperature procedure has also been successfully developed, which works very well for some substrates. Tamoxifen and its derivatives are synthesized in a concise, regio- and stereoselective manner by applying our synthetic protocol.

Abstract
Highly stereoselective dithiocarbonylation of propargylic mesylates with thiols and carbon monoxide has been developed by the use of tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0) as the catalyst at 90 degrees C in THF. The reaction affords the corresponding dithioesters in good to excellent yields. For some secondary and tertiary propargylic alcohols with a terminal or internal triple bond, the reaction stereoselectively produces E-dithioesters as products. The dithiocarbonylation is believed to proceed via allenylpalladium and allenyl ester intermediates, and the high stereoselectivity might be rationalized by a mechanism where nucleophilic attack of a Pd(0)L(n) species on the allenyl sp carbon occurs from the less hindered side of an alkyl substituent.
