Abstract
Stereoselective difunctionalizations of the terminal and internal alkynes with various sulfinates and isocyanides have been achieved to prepare (Z)-/(E)-β-sulfonylacrylamides. The (Z)-β-sulfonylacrylamides were generated via a one-pot process that involves the reaction of terminal alkynes with sulfinates and isocyanides in the presence of iodine in sequential manner. The (E)-β-sulfonylacrylamides were prepared in a two-step synthesis via palladium(II)-catalyzed addition of isocyanide to (E)-β-iodovinylsulfones synthesized from alkynes.

Abstract
AbstractThe synthesis of amides is a substantial research area in organic chemistry because of their ubiquitous presence in natural products and bioactive molecules. The use of easily accessible isocyanides as amidoyl (carbamoyl) synthons in cross-coupling reactions using transition metal and inner transition metöal catalysts is a current trend in this area. Isocyanides, owing to their coordination ability as a ligand and inherent electronic properties for reactions with various partners, have expanded the potential application of these transformations for the preparation of novel synthetic molecules and pharmaceutical candidates. This review gives an overview of the achievements in isocyanide-based transition metal and inner transition metal catalyzed amide formation and discusses highlights of the proposed distinct mechanisms.1 Introduction2 Synthesis of Arenecarboxamides3 Synthesis of Alkanamides4 Synthesis of Cyclic Amides5 Formation of Alkynamides6 Formation of Acrylamide-like Molecules7 Formation of Ureas and Carbamates8 Conclusion

Abstract
A novel and efficient one-pot synthesis of symmetrical N-aryl dialkynylimines via palladium-catalyzed and copper-promoted isocyanide insertion, cross-coupling and elimination has been developed. This method features readily available starting materials, mild reaction conditions and high atom efficiency as well as simple one-pot operation, which make this strategy highly attractive. Moreover, 2-iodobenzo[f]quinoline derivatives can be obtained via electrophilic cyclization of N-aryl dialkynylimines.

Abstract
Herein, we report the synthesis and characterization of a series of terminal uranium(iv) hydrosulfido and sulfido complexes, supported by the hexadentate, tacn-based ligand framework (Ad,MeArO)3tacn3- (= trianion of 1,4,7-tris(3-(1-adamantyl)-5-methyl-2-hydroxybenzyl)-1,4,7-triazacyclononane). The hydrosulfido complex [((Ad,MeArO)3tacn)U-SH] (2) is obtained from the reaction of H2S with the uranium(iii) starting material [((Ad,MeArO)3tacn)U] (1) in THF. Subsequent deprotonation with potassium bis(trimethylsilyl)amide yields the mononuclear uranium(iv) sulfido species in good yields. With the aid of dibenzo-18-crown-6 and 2.2.2-cryptand, it was possible to isolate a terminal sulfido species, capped by the potassium counter ion, and a "free" terminal sulfido species with a well separated cation/anion pair. Spectroscopic and computational analyses provided insights into the nature of the uranium-sulfur bond in these complexes.

Abstract
Isocyanides are versatile building blocks, and have been extensively exploited in C-H functionalization reactions. However, transition-metal-catalyzed direct C-H functionalization reactions with isocyanides suffer from over-insertion of isocyanides. Reported herein is a radical coupling/isomerization strategy for the cross-coupling of isocyanides with active methylene compounds through silver-catalysis. The method solves the over-insertion issue and affords a variety of otherwise difficult to synthesize β-aminoenones and tricarbonylmethanes under base- and ligand-free conditions. This report presents a new fundamental C-C bond-forming reaction of two basic chemicals.

Abstract
Isonitriles are delicately poised chemical entities capable of being coaxed to react as nucleophiles or electrophiles. Directing this tunable reactivity with metal and non-metal catalysts provides rapid access to a large array of complex nitrogenous structures ideally functionalized for medicinal applications. Isonitrile insertion into transition metal complexes has featured in numerous synthetic and mechanistic studies, leading to rapid deployment of isonitriles in numerous catalytic processes, including multicomponent reactions (MCR). Covering the literature from 1990-2014, the present review collates reaction types to highlight reactivity trends and allow catalyst comparison.
